Preparation and photocatalytic activity of a novel BiOCl/g‑C3N4 thin film prepared via spin coating
Wei‑Qin Cai,De‑Fang Zhang,Feng‑Jun Zhang,Won‑Chun Oh 한국세라믹학회 2020 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.57 No.3
Novel BiOCl/g-C3N4 thin film photocatalysts were synthesized via a simple two-step spin coating method. The prepared photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity of the thin films for the degradation of rhodamine B under visible light (λ ≥ 400 nm) was investigated. The results showed that the BiOCl/g-C3N4 thin film photocatalysts exhibited significantly improved visible light absorption compared to the pure BiOCl thin film. The BiOCl/g-C3N4 film showed a rhodamine B degradation efficiency of 81.0% under visible light, which is 23.8 times higher than that of the pure BiOCl thin film. This excellent photocatalytic activity of the BiOCl/g-C3N4 film can be attributed to its efficient electron–hole separation due to the presence of g-C3N4.

Sun, Yong-Jian,Hu, Yan-Jun,Jin, Dan,Li, Jian-Wei,Yu, Bin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.7
Aim: We conducted the present study to assess health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among bone cancer patients after surgical treatment in one large teaching hospitals in China, and assess the risk factors for improving the physical or mental HRQoL. Methods: 344 eligible adult patients who were admitted to the hospital with malignant bone tumors during the period of Jun. 2008 to Dec. 2011, and a reference group with 361 health cases was recruited in the same hospital during the same period. All 344 patients were followed up for one year. The HRQoL before treatment and after one year was evaluated with the Medical Outcome Short Form 36 (SF-36). Results: All 8 domains of HRQoL had the lowest scores greatly improved over the first year after discharge. However, the patients still had significantly lower scores in every domain than the reference group one year after discharge. Age and type of surgery were associated with HRQoL in the mental domain. Conclusion: The HRQoL of patients with malignant bone tumors greatly improved one year after the treatment. This study also highlighted the utility of HRQoL assessment for prognostic evaluation of patients after surgical treatment for bone cancer.

This paper studies the secure consensus control problem of multi-agent systems under DoS attacks onthe sensor, the actuator, and the communication topology. A resilient intermediate estimator based attack tolerantcontrol strategy is proposed. By fully exploiting the hardware redundancies, both of the estimators and the controlprotocols can be reconstructed online according to different DoS attack scenarios. Finally, the experiment results ofthe networked multi-axis motion control system are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
RanBPM inhibits BLT2-mediated IL-8 production and invasiveness in aggressive breast cancer cells
Wei, Jun-Dong,Jang, Jae-Hyun,Kim, Jae-Hong Academic Press 2017 Biochemical and biophysical research communication Vol. No.

Abstract

RanBPM is a scaffolding protein that regulates several cellular processes by interacting with various proteins. Previously, we reported that RanBPM acts as a negative regulator of BLT2, a low-affinity leukotriene B4 receptor; thus, it interferes with BLT2-mediated cell motility. In the present study, we observed that the expression levels of RanBPM were markedly reduced in the highly aggressive MDA-MB-435 and MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cell lines compared with those in non-invasive MCF-7 cells. Additionally, we found that the restoration of RanBPM levels suppressed the invasiveness of these aggressive breast cancer cells in a manner dependent on BLT2 activation. In contrast, the knockdown of endogenous RanBPM by shRNA strongly promoted invasiveness in non-invasive MCF-7 cells. We also observed that RanBPM suppressed the invasiveness of aggressive breast cancer cells by inhibiting BLT2-mediated reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and IL-8 production. Taken together, our results suggest that RanBPM acts as a negative regulator of BLT2, thus attenuating the invasiveness of aggressive breast cancer cells.

Highlights

RanBPM suppresses the invasiveness of aggressive breast cancer cells by inhibiting BLT2-mediated ROS generation and IL-8 production.

The expression levels of RanBPM are reduced in the aggressive breast cancer cells.

Restoration of RanBPM levels suppressed the invasiveness of aggressive breast cancer cells in a manner dependent on the LTB4-BLT2 axis.

Objective: To observe local and systemic toxicity after sustained-release 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) implantation in canine peritoneum and para-aortic abdominalis and the changes of drug concentration in the local implanted tissue with time. Methods: 300 mg sustained-release 5-Fu was implanted into canine peritoneum and para-aorta abdominalis. Samples were taken 3, 5, 7 and 10 days after implantation for assessment of changes and systemic reactions. High performance liquid chromatography was applied to detect the drug concentrations of peritoneal tissue at different distances from the implanted site, lymphatic tissue of para-aortic abdominalis, peripheral blood and portal venous blood. Results: 10 days after implantation, the drug concentrations in the peritoneum, lymphatic tissue and portal vein remained relatively high within 5 cm of the implanted site. There appeared inflammatory reaction in the local implanted tissue, but no visible pathological changes such as cell degeneration and necrosis, and systemic reaction like anorexia, nausea, vomiting and fever. Conclusions: Sustained-release 5-Fu implantation in canine peritoneum and para-aortic abdominalis can maintain a relatively high tumour-inhibiting concentration for a longer time in the local implanted area and portal vein, and has mild local and systemic reactions. Besides, it is safe and effective to prevent or treat recurrence of gastrointestinal tumours and liver metastasis.
A Model Transfer Learning Based Fault Diagnosis Method for Chemical Processes With Small Samples
Jun-Wei Zhu,Bo Wang,Xin Wang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.12
Traditional fault diagnosis methods relies on sufficient fault samples, but it is unrealistic since the fault is a low possibility event in real industrial scenes. To address the above issue, this paper proposed a fault diagnosis method for chemical processes with small samples. First, a data self-generating-based transfer learning (DSGTL) method is presented to expand the fault samples. The characteristic of fault data is learned by adversarial relation and transferred to the generated data. Moreover, a model-based transfer learning strategy is adopted to improve the robustness of the proposed method to the quality of generated data. Second, the sample reconstruction-based convolutional neural network (SR-CNN) is proposed which adaptively extracts features from both spatial domain and time domain and identifies the fault type of industrial process with small samples. Finally, the experimental result of the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process proves the validity and the feasibility of the proposed method.

In this paper, we first study some characterizations of left MC2 rings. Next, by introducing left nil-injective modules, we discuss and generalize some well known results for a ring whose simple singular left modules are Y J-injective. Finally, as a byproduct of these results we are able to show that if R is a left MC2 left Goldie ring whose every simple singular left R-module is nil-injective and GJcp-injective, then R is a finite product of simple left Goldie rings.

The increasing penetration of distributed energy resources on the distribution networks have brought a number of technical impacts where voltage and thermal variations have been identified as the dominant effects. Active network management in distribution networks aims to integrate distributed energy resources with flexible network management so that distributed energy resources are organized to make better use of existing capacity and infrastructure. This paper propose active solutions which aims to solve the voltage and thermal issues in a distributed manner utilizing a collaborative approach. The proposed algorithms have been fully tested on a distribution network with distributed generation units.
