After Parking Assist Algorithm was developed for drivers with insufficient parking skills or drivers who prefer easier methods of parking, it was applied on a production model to verify the performance. This algorithm allows the controller to create different parking paths depending on the presence of obstacles which then allows the driver to select targeted parking space through a rear camera video image. Moreover, by creating HMI that projects expected moving paths of front and rear bumpers to the driver, the algorithm helps to determine the feasibility of parking on a given space in advance. The algorithm controls steering motor (MDPS) by utilizing ABS and steering wheel sensor data when moving the vehicle through a final parking path.
