Diketopiperazine is a naturally occurring cyclic dipeptide found from diverse living organisma. The com-pounds in this structure class have been known with a broad spectrum of bioactivities including anti-inflamma-tory activities. Transforming growth factor β-induced protein (TGFBIp) is an extracellular matrix protein whose expression in several cell types is greatly increased by TGB- β. TGFBIp is released by human umbilical vein endothelica cells and functions as a mediator of experi-mental sepsis. Here, three (1-3) of diketopiperazines were isolated from two strains of marine-derived bacteria and we hypothesized that 1-3 could reduce TGFBIp-mediated severe inflammatory responses in human endothelial cells and mice. Here, we investigated the anti-septic effects and underlying mechanisms of 1-3 effectively inhibited lipopolysac-charide-induced release of TGFBIp and suppressed TGFBIp-mediated septic responses. In addition, 1-3 sup-pressed cecal ligation and puncture (CLP)-induced sepsis lethality and pulmonary injury. In conclusion, 1-3 sup-pressed TGFBIp-mediated and CLP-induced septic response. Therefore, 1-3 could be a potential therapeutic agent for treatment of various severe vascular inflamma-tory diseases inhibition of the TGFBIp signaling pathway.

Fatty acid compositions of Setaria italica, Panicum miliaceum and Sorghum bicolor were determined with total lipids extracted. Total lipid content of Setaria italica, Panicum miliaceum and Sorghum bicolor were 3.9%(w/w). 2.7%(w/w) and 2.3%(w/w), respectively. Total lipids were fractionated into neutral lipids, glycolipids and phospholipids by the silicic acid column chromatography. Neutral lipids were the most abundant component. Among fatty acids separated by GC, linoleic acid was determined as a major fraction in Setaria italica, Panicum miliaceum and Sorghum bicolor. Palmitic acid and oleic acid were also separated as second major components. In Setaria italica, behenic acid was separated from the phospholipid fraction and myristic acid from the neutral lipid fraction. Linolenic acid was not detected in all the samples.
활성탄을 이용한 휘발성 유기화합물(VOCs-BTX)의 흡착특성

Adsorption characteristics of volatile organic compounds(VOC) by activated carbon were investigated using a continuous generation system for VOC. As samples of VOC, benzene, toluene, and xylene were adopted. The pelletized activated carbon prepared by Hanil Green Tech. Company was used as a adsorbent. As operating variables, adsorption temperature(25∼45℃) and partial pressure of VOC(0.25∼22.5mmHg) were applied. Adsorption characteristics such as adsorption rate, adsorption equilibrium capacity, and breakthrough curve were studied. The experimental results show that the adsorption rate increases with increasing temperature and partial pressure. Also, the adsorption equilibrium capacity increases with increasing pressure. and decreases with increasing temperature.

It identified common change drivers, trends and corresponding implications to construction industry. Globalization, integrated process, sustain ability and health and safety were identified as common key 'future' agenda which pose major implications and impacts.

It is a matter of course that our wish to be more healthy has been, and is enshrined in heart. Physical power has been improved owing to the highly-developed science and technology, moreover, middle and high school student's physical fitness has made a remarkable progress. This can be attributed the systematic training and normalized school education in gymanastics. The purpose of this paper is to prove the correlationship between Physical Fitness Test, physique index and physical achievement. 1. The correlation rate between Physical Fitness Test and Physique Index is 0.20∼0.40, being little significant. 2. The correlation rate between student's physical Achievement records and Physical Fitness Test 0.40∼0.60 (both male and female), proving to be clearly significant. 3. It has turned out that there is a noticeable relationship between physical achievement records and physique Index. This research shouss that middle and high school student's physical grouth can be achieved by performing student's physical check-up two times rather than just once a year. A more accurate measurement of student's physical conditions will be helpful their growth.
2¼Cr-1Mo강 압력용기 용접이음부의 재열균열에 관한 역학적 연구

구조물에 사용되는 각종 압력용기들의 재질은 고온 및 고압에 견딜 수 있도록 요구되고 있다. 따라서, 내열, 내압 및 내부식성이 뛰어난 2¼Cr-1Mo강의 수요가 향후 증대될 전망이다 용접잔류응력은 일반적으로 응접구조물에 각종 악영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이 때문에 용접잔류응력. 확산성 수소제거 및 용접 열영향부의 연화등을 목적으로 용접후열처리(PWHT)를 수행하나, PWHT를 행하면 사용 강재의 종류에 따라 재열균열이 발생하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 2¼Cr-1Mo강에 대하여 실험과 수치해석 기법을 통하여 용접이음부의 재열균열 감수성평가 및 상당크리프 변형율의 재열균열 발생에 판정에 대한 역학적 지표로서의 적용성을 검토하였다. 2¼Cr-1Mo steels are widely used to fabricate pressure vessels. Residual stresses, in general, are known to be harmful to the soundness of the welded structures. PWHT is release residual stresses, which may cause cracks. But, in those PWHT process, 2¼Cr-1Mo steels are apt to occur reheat crack frequently. In this reason, it is strongly needed to analysis and examine the mechanical behavior of welded joints through welding to PWHT process. So, in this study, welded nozzle parts of pressure vessel where reheat cracks are frequently occur are selected for examine the crack-occurrence mechanism.

The years between 1999-2002 are thought boom periods by many researchers. There were several significant accomplishments in the number of screens and volume of ticket sales and export. With the box-office success of 'Shiri' in 1999, the Korean film industry had entered unexpected boom years. But the over all market size had shrinked by 5-10% annually during same years. What happened? The purpose of this study is an critical overview of the recent korean f h boom with the theory of the Austrian school of economics. According to neoclassical theory, consumer demand is determined by the utility of each commodity to the consumer. But consumers often are persuaded by false and misleading advertising, and their actions are guided not by a pursuit for utility but by impulse, fear or simple caprice. What is unique to the Austrian economic theory is their stress on problem of information in economics. From this developed the Austrians' concern with both capital and business cycle theory which believes that economic boom and bust is a series of cyclical events caused by bouts of bank credit at a market rate of interest below the rate of return on capital. The boom years cannot be prolonged indefinitely without real productivity gains. With several big box office flops, the new capital formation must be prematurely terminated. The korean film boom come to an abrupt stop in 2002. And korean film industry is in the middle of passing bubble-bust times.
