An Optimum Design of Tunnel Actuator using FEM and RSM to Improve the Performance

In th is paper, an optim um design of T unnel A ctuator(TA ) was proposed for im proving the performance using the finite element m etho d(F E M ) and response surface m etho d(R S M ). Five design variables were optim ized by R SM and 3D F E M to improve the performance of T A-thrust,detent force, and late ral force. The results from th is analysis showed an increase of 15% in the m axim um th ru st, a decrease of 36% in the lateral force, b u t also a sm all increase of the detent force.
The Analysis of Liquid Metal Flow Characteristics in the Annular Passage of an Electromagnetic Pump

An electromagnetic pump using a tubular induction motor (TLIM) has been proposed to pump liquid metal fluids. TLIM has been designed for liquid metal flow systems with a motor with a thrust force of 40~77[N]. The flow characteristics have been investigated by solving the Navier-Stokes equation, where the Lorentz force was included simply by considering it as a constant in the Navier-Stokes equation. A wood metal was chosen to simulate the liquid metal. The effect of Lorentz force on the flow rate was investigated. An experiment was conducted and its results were compared with those of the simulation. The simulation result showed an overestimation of about 17% compared with the experimental one.
반응표면법을 이용한 자동차 기어용 선형 보이스코일 전동기의 최적설계

본 논문은 자동차의 오토 기어를 능동적으로 제어하기 위해 전 자기 력 을 이용한 원통형 선형 보이스 코일 전동기의 최적설계에 대하여 연 구 하 였 다 . 기존 유압식 장치를 전자식으로 대체하기 위한 것으로 기존 제품에 대하여 추력은 변하지 않으면서 중량을 최소로 하기 위해 연구를 하 였 다 . 본논문에서는 보일스코일 전동기의 설계 변수에 대해 추력을 최대로 하면서 중량을 최소화하기 위하여 반 응표면법을 이용하여 최 적 화 하 였 다 . 최적설계를 통하여 추 력 은 초 기 모 델 과 비 슷 한상 태 에 서 중 량 이 약 15 % 감 소 한 결 과 를 얻 을 수 있 었 다 . The voice coil motor(VCM) has been studied in order to control the automobile more actively. In this paper, an optimum design of a voice coil motor was studied to reduce the weight using response surface method and fin ite element method. The optimum design showed that the weight of a voice coil motor was reduced 15% compared with the in itia l model.
