      • GA Based Optimal Placement of SVC for Minimizing Installation Cost and Voltage Deviations

Ankita Singh,Shishir Dixit 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.9

Power system under heavily loaded conditions is at high risks of consequent voltage instability problem. Voltage deviation minimization is the reliable indicators of voltage security of power networks. The aim is to minimize the voltage deviation and installation cost under increasing load condition in power system network. GA is used to solve the optimization problem in this paper which is one of the heuristic methods. Genetic Algorithm optimizes the location and size of the SVC. The effectiveness of the proposed work is tested in IEEE-30 Bus test system. It has also been observed that the proposed algorithm can be applied to larger systems and do not suffer with computational difficulties. The obtained results show that the allocation of SVC device with the proposed method considerably enhanced the voltage stability and reduce installation cost.

Comparative analysis of Air Quality Index prediction using deep learning algorithms

Ankita Mishra,Yogesh Gupta 대한공간정보학회 2024 Spatial Information Research Vol.32 No.1

This paper comprehensively reviews and compares methodologies used to monitor air quality and their impact on human health. With urbanization and industrialization increasing in emerging nations, air pollution levels have become a signifcant threat to human well-being. The study highlights the importance of reducing exposure to air pollution for the improvement of public health. The paper focuses on the comparative analysis of measuring the Air Quality Index (AQI) using deep learning algorithms like Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and classical machine learning models such as Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA), Decision Tree, K-Nearest Neighbour, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Gradient Boosting, Adaptive Boosting, Huber Regressor, and Dummy Regressor for AQI prediction. The performance of these models is evaluated using daily and hourly time series data from 2014 to 2018, with the Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) used as the performance indicator. The results demonstrate that LSTM outperforms ARIMA, particularly with hourly data. For daily data, ARIMA achieved an RMSE of 97.88, whereas LSTM obtained an RMSE of 143.07. On the other hand, for hourly data, ARIMA yielded an RMSE of 69.65, while LSTM achieved a lower RMSE of 44.6539. These fndings highlight the potential of deep learning algorithms, specifcally LSTM, in accurately forecasting air quality.

Spinal Cord Injury Provoked Neuropathic Pain and Spasticity, and Their GABAergic Connection

        Ankita Bhagwani,Manjeet Chopra,Hemant Kumar 대한척추신경외과학회 2022 Neurospine Vol.19 No.3

Traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) is the devastating neurological damage to the spinal cord that becomes more complicated in the secondary phase. The secondary injury comes with inevitable long-lasting complications, such as chronic neuropathic pain (CNP) and spasticity which interfere with day to day activities of SCI patients. Mechanisms underlying CNP post-SCI are complex and remain refractory to current medical treatment. Due to the damage, extensive inhibitory, excitatory tone dysregulation causes maladaptive synaptic transmissions, further altering the nociceptive and nonnociceptive pathways. Excitotoxicity mediated GABAergic cell loss, downregulation of glutamate acid decarboxylase enzyme, upregulation of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) transporters, overactivation of glutamate receptors are some of the key evidence for hypoactive inhibitory tone contributing to CNP and spasticity post-SCI. Restoring the inhibitory GABAergic tone and preventing damageinduced excitotoxicity by employing various strategies provide neuroprotective and analgesic effects. The present article will discuss CNP and spasticity post-SCI, understanding their pathophysiological mechanisms, especially GABA-glutamate-related mechanisms, therapeutic interventions targeting them, and progress regarding how regulating the excitatory-inhibitory tone may lead to more targeted treatments for these distressing complications. Taking background knowledge of GABAergic analgesia and recent advancements, we aim to highlight how far we have reached in promoting inhibitory GABAergic tone for SCI-CNP and spasticity.

A Review on remote sensing application in river ecosystem evaluation

Ankita Singh,Vipin Vyas 대한공간정보학회 2022 Spatial Information Research Vol.30 No.6

A river is a huge natural freshwater stream that plays a significant role in hydrological dynamics, water resource management, and global activities. Understanding the dynamics of the river ecosystem, such as water quality, morphological traits, and so on, is crucial to determining its health. This article provides a broad review on Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) applications for achieving geographical advantages, particularly in the river ecology. In recent years, the accessibility, accuracy, and popularity of RS technology have all increased dramatically. Land use and cover mapping, land cover changes, deforestation vegetation dynamics, and water quality dynamics at many scales utilising efficient methods are all covered using remote sensing data. RS may now be utilised for a variety of engineering-related applications at the same time. The importance of Landsat data and multispectral sensors in mapping and monitoring many environmental parameters of river ecosystems is highlighted. According to a recent research study, these technologies will aid in the establishment of safety measures prior to disasters. Additionally, river cleaning can be done in conjunction with the creation of an appropriate drainage system to protect the river from becoming contaminated. Future research is expected to build on developing technology, enhance present methodologies, and include innovative analytical approaches.

        New congruences for $\ell$-regular overpartitions

        Ankita Jindal,Nabin K. Meher 대한수학회 2022 대한수학회지 Vol.59 No.5

For a positive integer $\ell$, $\overline{A}_{\ell}(n)$ denotes the number of overpartitions of $n$ into parts not divisible by $\ell$. In this article, we find certain Ramanujan-type congruences for $\overline{A}_{ r \ell}(n)$, when $r\in\{8, 9\}$ and we deduce infinite families of congruences for them. Furthermore, we also obtain Ramanujan-type congruences for $\overline{A}_{ 13}(n)$ by using an algorithm developed by Radu and Sellers \cite{Radu2011}.

A NEW CLASS OF CYCLIC CODES USING ORDERED POWER PRODUCT OF POLYNOMIALS

Ankita Gaur,BhuDev Sharma 한국전산응용수학회 2014 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.32 No.3

The paper introduces a new product of polynomials defined over a field. It is a generalization of the ordinary product with inner polynomial getting non-overlapping segments obtained by multiplying with coefficients and variable with expanding powers. It has been called ‘Ordered Power Product’ (OPP). Considering two rings of polynomials Rm [x] = F [x] moduloxm -1 and Rn [x] = F [x]moduloxn -1 , over a field F, the paper then considers the newly introduced product of the two polynomial rings. Properties and algebraic structure of the product of two rings of polynomials are studied and it is shown to be a ring. Using the new type of product of polynomials, we define a new product of two cyclic codes and devise a method of getting a cyclic code from the ‘ordered power product’ of two cyclic codes. Conditions for the OPP of the generators polynomials of component codes, giving a cyclic code are examined. It is shown that OPP cyclic code so obtained is more efficient than the one that can be obtained by Kronecker type of product of the same component codes.

Vimentin as a potential therapeutic target in sorafenib resistant HepG2, a HCC model cell line

        Ankita Makol,Harpreet Kaur,Sakshi Sharma,Shruthi Kanthaje,Ramanpreet Kaur,Anuradha Chakraborti 대한간학회 2020 Clinical and Molecular Hepatology(대한간학회지) Vol.26 No.1

Background/Aims: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common liver cancer with high mortality rate in patients suffering from liver diseases. The drug of choice used in advanced-stage of HCC is sorafenib. However, adaptive resistance has been observed in HCC patients undergoing long-term sorafenib treatment, lowering its effectiveness. Hence, it is important to overcome drug resistance to improve overall management of HCC. Here, we have identified a candidate biomarker for sorafenib resistance in a HCC model cell line, HepG2. Methods: Initially, comparative proteomic profiling of parental HepG2 [HepG2 (P)] and sorafenib-resistant HepG2 [HepG2 (R)] cells was performed via MALDI (matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization) which revealed the deregulation of vimentin in HepG2 (R) cells. Gene and protein level expression of vimentin was also observed through quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT PCR) and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), respectively. Furthermore, withaferin A was used to study regulation of vimentin expression and its significance in sorafenib resistance. Results: Both gene and protein level of vimentin expression was found to be downregulated in HepG2 (R) in comparison to HepG2 (P). Interestingly, the study demonstrated that withaferin A further lowered the expression of vimentin in HepG2 (R) cells in a dose-dependent manner. Also, inhibition of vimentin lowered ABCG2 expression and decreased cell viability in parental as well as sorafenib resistant HepG2 cells. Conclusions: Hence, our study for the first time highlighted the probable therapeutic potential of vimentin in sorafenib resistant HepG2, a HCC model cell line.

INFINITE FAMILIES OF CONGRUENCES MODULO 2 FOR 2-CORE AND 13-CORE PARTITIONS

Ankita Jindal,Nabin Kumar Meher Korean Mathematical Society 2023 대한수학회지 Vol.60 No.5

A partition of n is called a t-core partition if none of its hook number is divisible by t. In 2019, Hirschhorn and Sellers [5] obtained a parity result for 3-core partition function a3(n). Motivated by this result, both the authors [8] recently proved that for a non-negative integer α, a3αm(n) is almost always divisible by an arbitrary power of 2 and 3 and at(n) is almost always divisible by an arbitrary power of pji, where j is a fixed positive integer and t = pa11pa22···pamm with primes pi ≥ 5. In this article, by using Hecke eigenform theory, we obtain infinite families of congruences and multiplicative identities for a2(n) and a13(n) modulo 2 which generalizes some results of Das [2].
