        This study compared pitch range, total duration of utterances, pause, boundary tones and mean duration of intonation final syllables of 4 sentences produced by 5 transgenders (male to female) to those of twenty normal adults. Voice analysis was performed by Praat (version 4.049). The results showed that there were differences in pitch range, total duration of utterances, pause, boundary tones and mean duration of intonation final syllables among the 3 groups(transgenders, normal males and normal females).

        음성 장애인의 의사소통 태도에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to determine voice patient's communication attitude. In addition, this study was to determine a correlation between communication attitude and acoustic parameters. 55 voice patients participated in the study. Communication attitude measurements were taken by S-24 (Modified Erickson Scale of Communication Attitudes) and acoustic measurements using CSL 4300. The Pearson's correlation was used to analyse the correlation between communication attitude and acoustic parameters (F0, Jitter, Shimmer, NHR).The results indicated that acute voice patient's score was higher to chronic voice patient's score. In addition, neurogenic voice patient's score was higher to simple pathologic voice patient's score. Also, there was no significant in communication attitude and acoustic parameters.

        섹시한 음성에 대한 청지각적 분석 연구

        Voice seems to be one of the most influential factors in the personal communication. However, there have been few attempts to analyze and judge voice quality objectively. The purpose of this study was to determine characteristics of sexy voice perceptually.The voice samples from one male and one female actor were collected and their pitch, amplitude, nasalance were modified for a perceptual measurement. One-hundred-fifty-seven adults with normal hearing participated in the listening experiment and judged the degree of sexiness on a 7-point scale.The results showed that perceptual analyses on pitch, huskiness, and nasality had significant differences as a function of listeners gender and age. the perceptual parameters of sexy voice matched acoustic aspects of a previous study: Low pitch-low fundamental frequency and husky voice-high shimmer. On the other hand, the nasalance score did not match that of the previous study: Decreased nasalance had a higher score on sexiness scale judged by the listeners.It would be desirable to study the voice quality by analyzing and controling more acoustic and auditory parameters for practical applications in the future.

      • CPAP(Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) 치료 프로그램이 취학 전 구순․구개열 아동의 과대비성 개선에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) therapy on the treatment of hypernasality in patients with cleft lips and palates. 7 preschool children with severe hypernasality participated in the study. Acoustic measurements of nasality were done by using the NasalView (version 1.31). Results showed that the nasalance values were reduced linearly in both vowels according to the treatment period. The sharp treatment effect was observed at the beginning stage. The nasality values of the vowel /i/ showed a sharp decrease at the Evaluation Phase 1 and 2 and a small increase at the Phase 4 followed by a drop in the end. Further studies would be desirable for various patients with different disorder types.

        음성장애인의 음향학적 측정치와 생리학적 측정치에 대한 상관관계 연구

        The purpose of this study was to determine a correlation between acoustic and physiologic measurements in voice patient and compare the results with previous studies, and a more sensitive parameters in analyzing pathological voices. The voice patients(F=8, M=2) participated in the study. Acoustic measurements were taken by Dr. Speech (version 4.0, Tiger DRS) and physiologic measurements by Dr. Speech EGG (version 4.0, Tiger DRS). The Pearson's correlation was used to analyse the correlation between acoustic parameters (Jitter, Shimmer, HNR, NNE) and physiologic parameters (EGG Jitter, EGG Shimmer, EGG HNR, EGG NNE). The results indicated that acoustic parameters (Jitter, Shimmer, HNR) and physiologic parameters (EGG Jitter, EGG Shimmer, EGG HNR) were closely correlated in pathological voices except for NNE. Interestingly enough, S4 and S10 who showed the highest EGG NNE have had polyps. Therefore, EGG NNE can be used to sensibly detect lesions at a glottal level.

        성악전공학생의 가창 시 음성의 음향학적 파라미터와 지각적 파라미터사이의 상관 연구

        The purposes of this study were to determine a correlation between acoustic and perceptual parameters of the singing voice in singing students, to compare them with the results of previous studies, and to find a more sensitive parameters in analyzing professional vocal usage. This study measured acoustic and perceptual parameters in 41 singing students. Digital audio recordings were made in sung vowels for acoustic analysis. Each sample was judged by 1 experienced singing teacher and 1 voice pathologist on 2 semantic bipolar 7-point scales (ringing-dull, rich-thin). The results showed that SPP1 (p<0.01), SPP2 (p<0.01), and P1 (p<0.01) had significant correlations with ringing and richness quality.

        The purpose of this study was to explore the acoustic characteristics of sexy voice. In this study, we measured acoustic parameters (fundamental frequency, jitter, shimmer, and nasalance) of a sustained vowel sound produced by 40 actors (20 males and 20 females) and 40 non-actors (20 males and 20 females). Digital audio recordings were made in the sustained vowel |a| for acoustic analyses using Praat (version 4.1.9) and Nasal View (version 4.5). Twenty voice pathologists participated in the listening experiment and judged the degree of sexiness on a 7-point scale. The results showed that fundamental frequency, shimmer and nasalance had significant differences between actors and non-actors. The acoustic parameters of sexy voice matched perceptual aspects of a previous study: Low fundamental frequency-low pitch and high shimmer-husky voice. On the other hand, the nasalance score did not match that of the previous study: Decreased nasalance had a higher score on sexiness scale judged by the listeners. It would be desirable to study the voice quality by analyzing and controlling more acoustic and auditory parameters for practical applications in the future.

        협대역 간섭신호 대응을 위한 SC-FDE 전송 구조 설계

        본 논문은 협대역 간섭신호에 대응하기 위한 새로운 SC-FDE 구조를 제안한다. 기존의 SC-FDE구조는 협대역 간섭신호가 발생했을 시 채널 추정이 어려워지고, 그로 인해 데이터 복원이 어려운 상황이 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 큰 전력의 협대역 간섭신호가 발생했을 때에도 주파수영역 채널추정이 가능한 새로운 SC-FDE 프레임 구조를 제안한다. 구체적으로 기존방식은 시간영역 채널추정을 먼저 수행한 후 푸리에변환을 통해 주파수 영역 채널을 추정하지만 본 논문은 곧바로 수신신호에서 주파수영역에서 채널추정이 가능하도록 새로운 SC-FDE의 구조를 제안하며 제안하는 구조의 성능 향상은 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 검증하였다. 모의실험 결과 재머의 크기가 수신신호의 크기와 동일한 환경에서 제안하는 방식은 재머가 없는 경우 대비 약 2 dB 이내의 손실로 수신이 가능하지만 기존의 방식은 통신이 불가능 하다. In this paper, we propose a new single carrier - frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) structure to cope with narrow band interference. In the conventional SC-FDE structure, when a high-power narrow band interference exists, channel estimation and data recovery is difficult. To relieve from this problem, this paper proposes a new SC-FDE frame structure to enable frequency-domain channel estimation in the environments that exist narrow band interference. Specifically, in the conventional method, the channel estimation is performed in time-domain first and from that, the frequency-domain channel is obtained by Fourier transform. In contrast, we proposed a new SC-FDE structure to enable frequency-domain channel estimation directly from received signals without time-domain channel estimation. The receiver performance improvement is verified through computer simulation. According to the results, the proposed technique can detect the signal with less than 2 dB loss compared with jammer-free environments, while the conventional method does not communicate with each other.
