The rainfall-runoff potential of Jangseong reservoir watershed was studied based on SCS (Soil Conservation Service, which is now the NRCS, Natural Resources Conservation Service, USDA) runoff curve number (CN) technique. Precipitation and reservoir operation data had been collected. The rainfall-runoff pairs from the watershed for ten years was estimated using reservoir water balance analysis using reservoir operation records. The maximum retention, S, for each storm event from rainfall-runoff pair was estimated for selected storm events. The estimated S values were arranged in descending order, then its probability distribution was determined as log-normal distribution, and associated CNs were found about probability levels of Pr=0.1, 0.5, and 0.9, respectively. A subwatershed that has the similar portions of land use categories to the whole watershed of Jangseong reservoir was selected and hydrologic monitoring was conducted. CNs for subwatershed were determined using observed data. CNs determined from observed rainfall-runoff data and reservoir water balance analysis were compared to the suggested CNs by the method of SCS-NEH4. The $CN_{II}$ measured and estimated from water balance analysis in this study were 78.0 and 78.1, respectively. However, the $CN_{II}$, which was determined based on hydrologic soil group, land use, was 67.2 indicating that actual runoff potential of Jangseong reservoir watershed is higher than that evaluated by SCS-NEH4 method. The results showed that watershed runoff potential for large scale agricultural reservoirs needs to be examined for efficient management of water resources and flood prevention.

A study was carried out to investigate the losses of sediment at a paddy plot located at the southern Korea. The observed amount of precipitation, irrigation, runoff for the experimental paddy plot during the cropping period were 1,030, 566, and 701 mm in 1999 and 1,214, 413, and 710 mm in 2000, respectively. The observed sediment losses from the plot during cropping period were 1,221.3 kg ha^-1 in 1999 and 1,274 kg/ha kg ha^-1 in 2000, respectively.

Water quality samples were taken for every two hours whenever runoff occurred by rainfall to investigate concentration variations of T-N, T-P and SS during runoff process from a paddy field. The difference between the highest concentration in a runoff event and flow weighted mean concentration for T-N, T-P, SS placed between 3.07∼40.16%, 11.44∼60.80%, and 15.11∼64.5%, respectively. The difference between the lowest concentration in event and event mean concentration for T-N, T-P, SS ranged between -7.24∼-31.84%, -11.59∼-47.86%, and -5.21∼-36.20%, respectively. The relationship between runoff and mass load was derived for each storm event using observed data. The relationship between runoff and mass load showed linear relationship regardless of water quality constituents and rainfall amount. The results suggested that relationship between T-N and T-P loads and runoff should be prepared separately in considering of fertilization effect and seasonal conditions. The relationship between SS and runoff should be made to reflect seasonal conditions and tillage effect.
양수장 지구 광역논으로부터 영농기간 영양물질의 유출 및 물질수지

The study was carried out to investigate the water balance and losses of nutrients from paddy fields during cropping period. The size of paddy fields was 95 ha and the fields were irrigated from a pumping station. The runoff loading was the highest in June because of the high concentrations of nutrients due to applied fertilizer. When the runoff losses of nutrients were compared to applied chemical fertilizer, it was found that 39.1 % to 42.5 % of nitrogen lost via runoff while runoff losses of phosphorus account for 14.5 % to 17 % of the total applied amount during cropping period. When the ratio was calculated between nutrients losses by infiltration and the applied of chemical fertilizer, two year results showed 9.1 % to 10.8 % for nitrogen and 0.5% for phosphorus, respectively.

Objective : The purpose of this report is to introduce hypersensitivity reaction of bee venom pharmacopuncture, and remind caution when use bee venom pharmacopuncture. Methods : After skin test, we were treated with bee venom pharmacopuncture to severe lower back pain and facial palsy patients depending on the state of the individual. After the treatment, bee venom hypersensitivity reaction was appeared, and we retreated hypersensitivity reaction depending on progress. Result & Conclusion : Hypersensitivity reaction of bee venom appears as various symptoms depending on the patient`s condition, procedure amount and procedure point. We might reinforce skin test, and remind caution when use bee venom pharmacopuncture.
