갑상선 고주파 절제술 후 발생한 음성장애 환자의 음성치료 효과

Purpose: Thyroid radio frequency ablation has been reported to have several relevant complications such as cervicalhematoma, burn at the puncture site, and vocal fold paralysis due to recurrent laryngeal nerve damage. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of voice therapy in voice disorder patients caused by vocal fold paralysis or vocal paresis after thyroid radiofrequency ablation. Methods: Eight patients who were diagnosed with voice disorder after thyroid radiofrequency ablation as vocal fold paralysis or vocal paresis in videostroboscopic findings and a control group of seven patients who had no voice change after thyroid radiofrequency ablation were enrolled for this study. The voice disorder group received voice therapy using SKLCT?? and manual circumlaryngeal therapy, ranging from three to 13 sessions.Videostroboscopic findings and acoustic and aerodynamic evaluations were performed to compare between the voicedisorder group and the control group and to examine the voice change on pre- and post-therapy. Results: In comparison with the control group, there was significant difference of jitter and MPT in the voice disorder group. After voice therapy, jitter and shimmer significantly reduced. MPT and frequency range were increased significantly. By videostroboscopic finding, glottic gap and supraglottic compressions were significantly reduced in most of patients. Conclusions: Our results suggest that voice therapy using SKLCT?? is effective in improving negative symptoms and recovery of vocal cord paralysis or paresis can occur as a side effect after thyroid radio frequency ablation. We recommend to apply voice therapy promptly to voice disorder after Thyroid radio frequency ablation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine nurses’ sexual health care attitude and practice while caring for cancer patients. Methods: Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from 236 nurses caring for patients with cancer from June 30, 2014 to July 6, 2014 at a University Hospital in Daegu, Korea. Results: The mean score for sexual health care attitude of nurses caring for patients with cancer was 27.75±6.45 of a possible range 17 to 51 and the mean score for a sexual health care practice of nurses was 3.67±3.30 of a possible range 0 to 21. The scores of a sexual health care attitude and practice were significantly different by age, education, department, experience in gynecology or urology departments, and position. Sexual health care attitude and practice had a significantly positive correlation (r=.16, p=.015). Conclusion: The nurses caring for patients with cancer recognize the importance of sexual health care, but their sexual health care practice rate was very low. Therefore specific and differentiated nurse education programs designed to increase sexual health care practice are required for young nurses and staff nurses that are not practicing sexual health care often.
