생리식염수 및 포도당수액 정액 투여가 에탄올 농도에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구

        김원율,이상래,안지영,안성훈,류석용,김경환,김홍용 대한응급의학회 2000 대한응급의학회지 Vol.11 No.3

Background: In emergency department, there are many drunken patients with various emergency medical situations. In these patients, evaluation and management of the medical problems are delayed from time to time because of the uncooperative nature of the patients and because of consciousness and sensory changes. A precise evaluation can only be obtained when the patients become sober. For this purpose, most clinicians start IV fluid loading. This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of IV fluid(normal saline and glucose solution) on the rate of ethanol clearance in such patients Methods: Ten volunteers(healthy males in their twenties and with a Michigan alcohol screening test below 4) were enrolled in this study. Alcohol intake was restricted to at least 48 hours before the test and food intake to at least 4 hours. For the test, A predetermined dose of ethanol(1 gm/kg) was given to the volunteers. Each volunteer was tested on three consecutive times with 3 or more days interval for alcohol wash out period . On the lst day, the volunteers received ethanol only per os. On the second day, they received ethanol and a liter of IV 10% dextrose solution. Each day, blood was drawn from the antecubital vein to measure the ethanol level at the time of ethanol ingestion and at 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 hours after ingestion. The repeated measure ANOVA test was used for the statistical analysis. Results: The difference in the blood ethanol level between the 3 test was F=1.7, p=0.184 and the difference corrected by the time factor was F=0.32, and p=0.985. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the blood ethanol level between the tests. In conclusion, the IV normal saline or glucose solution does not accelerate ethanol clearance in suffering

중국 및 중국인에 대한 사회인식 : 한국인과 중국조선족의 가치비교 A Comparison of Korean and Chinese-Korean's value

        손장권,김응렬,유지열 고려대학교 한국학연구소 1994 한국학연구 Vol.6 No.-

Because of Newly emerging relationship between Korea and China, we are interested in China and Chinese-Korean. Although their immegration history on Chinese land isn't long, Chinese-Korean are successfuly settled as a minority group. According to survey, Chinese-Korean identify themselves with Korean very strongly, and so do Korean. But, Korean and Chinese-Korean have different views of Chinese Society and Chinese. Chinese-Korean have more positive attitudes of Chinese society and Chinese than Korean. Chinese-Korean and Korean are expecting more close relationships between Korea and China. Also, they hope for much roles of Chines-Korean for the development of Korea and China. Chinese-Korean want to be identified as a Korean and expect themself to do some roles for Korea. However there is a social distance in the relations between Korean and Chinese-Korean because of different social experiences for the past 50 years. It is necessary to narrow e gap between them in terms of social distance. This Survey have some implications. First, national reunion of Korean and Chinese-Korean isn't very difficult until now. So we are required of more real steps in order to achieve national integration and development. Second, We don't know Chinese society and Chinese in detail. So making a new relationship with China, we need more careful examination and provision.

Anatomic Study of Pterygomaxillary Junctions in Koreans

        Kim, Dong-Yul,Cho, Yeong-Cheol,Sung, Iel-Yong,Yun, Dae-Kawn,Kim, Min-Uk,Kim, Ji-Uk,Son, Hyung-Suck,Son, Jang-Ho Korean Association of Maxillofacial Plastic and Re 2013 Maxillofacial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Vol.35 No.6

Purpose: This study is to evaluate the location of descending palatine artery, the anatomy of pterygomaxillary junction, and the association between the obtained anatomic values and several variables. Methods: We studied 40 patients who were treated for dentofacial deformites from January 2010 to December 2012 in Ulsan University Hospital, Ulsan, Korea. Cone beam computed tomogram (CBCT) was done for all patients. The reference point was approximately 5 to 7 mm above anterior nasal spine on axial image. We evaluated the location of the greater palatine canal (line a: on the coronal view, the shortest line between the center of greater palatine canal and pterygoid fossa; distance a: the distance of line a). We also measured the thickness (line b: on the coronal view, the shortest line between maxillary posterior sinus wall and pterygoid fossa; distance b: distance of line b), width (line c: on the coronal view, the line perpendicular to the line b and the nearest line from the most concave point of lateral pterygoid plate to the medial pterygoid plate; distance c: distance of line c) and height (line d: on sagittal view, the vertically longest line of pterygoid junction; distance d: the distance of line d) in pterygomaxillary junctions. We evaluated the association between the obtained anatomic values and several variables (sex, age, height and weight). Results: The mean distance a was 4.78 mm, mean distance b was 5.53 mm, mean distance c was 8.01 mm and mean distance d was 13.22 mm. The differences between age and mean distance c and weight and mean distance d in pterygomaxillary junctions are statistically significant. Conclusion: There apparently is anatomic variation of pterygomaxillary junctions by various values, particularly weight and age in a Korean clinical population.

Simple sequence repeat marker development from Codonopsis lanceolata and genetic relation analysis

        Kim, Serim,Jeong, Ji Hee,Chung, Hee,Kim, Ji Hyeon,Gil, Jinsu,Yoo, Jemin,Um, Yurry,Kim, Ok Tae,Kim, Tae Dong,Kim, Yong-Yul,Lee, Dong Hoon,Kim, Ho Bang,Lee, Yi The Korean Society of Plant Biotechnology 2016 식물생명공학회지 Vol.43 No.2

In this study, we developed 15 novel polymorphic simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers by SSR-enriched genomic library construction from Codonopsis lanceolata. We obtained a total of 226 non-redundant contig sequences from the assembly process and designed primer sets. These markers were applied to 53 accessions representing the cultivated C. lanceolata in South Korea. Fifteen markers were sufficiently polymorphic, and were used to analyze the genetic relationships between the cultivated C. lanceolata. One hundred three alleles of the 15 SSR markers ranged from 3 to 19 alleles at each locus, with an average of 6.87. By cluster analysis, we detected clear genetic differences in most of the accessions, with genetic distance varying from 0.73 to 0.93. Phylogenic analysis indicated that the accessions that were collected from the same area were distributed evenly in the phylogenetic tree. These results indicate that there is no correlative genetic relationship between geographic areas. These markers will be useful in differentiating C. lanceolata genetic resources and in selecting suitable lines for a systemic breeding program.

Comparison of breast volume change between oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery with radiation therapy and a simultaneous contralateral balancing procedure through the inverted-T scar technique

Kim, Min Wook,Oh, Won Seok,Lee, Jae Woo,Kim, Hyun Yul,Jung, Youn Joo,Choo, Ki Seok,Nam, Kyung Jin,Bae, Seong Hwan,Kim, Choongrak,Nam, Su Bong,Joo, Ji Hyeon Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surge 2020 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.47 No.6

Background Reduction mammoplasty or mastopexy is performed as an additional balancing procedure in patients with large or ptotic breasts who undergo breast-conserving surgery (BCS). Radiation therapy on breasts that have undergone surgery may result in changes in the volume. This study presents a comparative analysis of patients who received post-BCS balancing procedures to determine whether volume changes were larger in breasts that received radiation therapy than on the contralateral side. Methods Thirty-six participants were selected among patients who received BCS using the inverted-T scar technique between September 2012 and July 2017, were followed up for 2 or more years, and had pre-radiation therapy computed tomography images and post-radiation therapy images taken between 12 and 18 months after completion. The average age of the participants was 53.5 years, their average body mass index was 26.62 kg/㎡. Results The pre- and post-radiation therapy volumes of the breasts receiving BCS were 666.08±147.48 mL and 649.33±130.35 mL, respectively. In the contralateral breasts, the volume before radiation therapy was 637.69±145.72 mL, which decreased to 628.14±166.41 mL after therapy. The volume ratio of the affected to the contralateral breasts was 1.05±0.10 before radiation therapy and 1.06±0.12 after radiation therapy. Conclusions The ratio of the volume between the two breasts immediately after surgery and at roughly 18 months postoperatively was not significantly different (P=0.98). For these reasons, we recommend a simultaneous single-stage balancing procedure as a reasonable option for patients who require radiation therapy after BCS without concerns regarding volume change.

      • Facile loading of Cu(I) in MIL-100(Fe) through redox-active Fe(II) sites and remarkable propylene/propane separation performance

        Kim, Ah-Reum,Yoon, Tae-Ung,Kim, Eun-Jung,Yoon, Jung Woon,Kim, Seo-Yul,Yoon, Ji Woong,Hwang, Young Kyu,Chang, Jong-San,Bae, Youn-Sang Elsevier 2018 Chemical engineering journal Vol.331 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A novel Cu(I) loading method, which includes the reduction of CuCl2 to CuCl without an external reducing agent and high-temperature calcination, was developed using the redox properties of coordinatively unsaturated Fe(II) sites in MIL-100(Fe). The successful loading of Cu(I) ions and their redox-couple reactions are supported by various methods such as TEM/EDS, XPS, PXRD, and ICP-AES techniques, as well as N2 adsorption isotherms at 77K. Compared to Cu loaded into isostructural MIL-100(Al) devoid of redox active sites, Cu(I)-loaded MIL-100(Fe) exhibits higher C3H6/C3H8 selectivity and superior air stability. This indicates that the Fe(II) sites in MIL-100(Fe) act as antioxidants that protect the resultant Cu(I) species, as well as reducing agents for CuCl2. Remarkably, in the typical pressure-swing adsorption (PSA) range (1–5bar), the Cu(I)-loaded MIL-100(Fe) exhibits a large C3H6 working capacity as well as very high C3H6/C3H8 selectivities that are superior to those of the benchmark adsorbents, zeolite-13X and HKUST-1. Moreover, this material is easily regenerated under mild conditions and exhibits good separation performance under dynamic mixed-flow conditions. This facile method for loading Cu(I) can be applied to other adsorbents containing redox-active sites.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A novel Cu(I) loading method was developed by utilizing the redox-active Fe(II) sites in MIL-100(Fe). </LI> <LI> Fe(II) sites in MIL-100(Fe) act as antioxidants that protect the resultant Cu(I) species. </LI> <LI> Cu(0.6)@MIL-100(Fe) is superior to benchmark adsorbents considering both C3H6 selectivity and working capacity. </LI> <LI> Cu(0.6)@MIL-100(Fe) exhibits good separation and easy regeneration performance under mixed-flow conditions. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
