Background: The beneficial effects of implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) in primary and secondary prevention patients are well established. However, data on potential differences between both groups in mortality are scarce. The aim of this study was to assess extra risk differences between primary and secondary prevention ICD recipients. Methods: Comparative mortality figures were calculated from a source article using mortality analysis methods. Results: Mortality ratio (MR) of primary and secondary prevention ICD recipients were 393% and 373%. Excess death rates (EDR) of both groups were 42 and 38 per 1,000. Discussion: MR and EDR were higher in primary prevention group. But, there was no significant difference.

This study investigated dexamethasone (DXM) residues in the milk from intramuscularly dosed dairy cows and established the withdrawal time (WT) of DXM in milk. Eighteen healthy Holstein cows were injected with 20 (DXM-1) or 40 mL (DXM-2) of a drug containing 1 mg/mL of DXM. After administering DXM, milk samples were collected from all cows at 12-hour intervals for five days. The DXM residue concentrations in milk were determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The correlation coefficient of the calibration curve was 0.9966, and the limits of detection and quantification (LOQ) were 0.03 and 0.1 ㎍/kg, respectively. The recoveries were 97.0% to 104.0%, and the coefficient of variations was less than 7.22%. After treatment, DXM in DXM-1 was detected above the LOQ in two milk samples at 36 hours and below the LOQ in all milk samples of DXM-2 at 48 hours. Using the WT calculation program WT 1.4, the withdrawal periods of DXM-1 and DXM-2 in milk were established to be two days. In conclusion, the developed analytical method is sensitive and reliable for detecting DXM in milk. The estimated WT of DXM in bovine milk is shorter than the current milk WT recommendation of three days for DXM in lactating dairy cows.

The measurement of prostate specific antigen (PSA) in screening for prostate cancer is recently performed as a routine check-up in clinical medicine and insurance medicine. Several factors may affect serum PSA levels. As prostate size increases with increasing age, the PSA concentration also rises. Increasing body mass index (BMI) is associated with a lower mean PSA concentration. Inhibitors of 5-alpha-reductase such as finasteride and dutasteride produce a 50 percent or greater decrease in serum PSA during the first three months of therapy, which persists as long as the drug is continued. Men who are regularly taking non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or acetaminophen have lower PSA levels. Emerging concepts regarding PSA testing that may help refine the interpretation of an elevated concentration include: PSA density, PSA velocity, and Free versus complexed or bound PSA. With many insurance companies, PSA level has become part of a standard battery of blood tests, along with HIV, cholesterol, liver enzymes, and other predictors of premature death. But, there is no clear proof of benefit, so we have to monitor the value of PSA test as a prostate cancer screening test in insurance medicine.

하수슬러지의 전처리 방법에 따른 줄지렁이(Eisenia fetida savigny)의 섭식효율 및 생장

갓 발생한 하수슬러지를 전처리 없이 줄지렁이에게 급이할 경우 하수슬러지 발생지역과 무관하게 슬러지 급이 32일~45일 경과후 지렁이 개체군의 치사현상이 일어났다. 하수슬러지내 중금속, 고분자 유기응집제(폴리아크릴 아마이드) 또는 미생물 생체가 직접적인 독성 물질로 작용하지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 하수슬러지를 수분률 65%가 되도록 제지슬러지와 혼합하여 21일 이상 부숙시킨 먹이에서는 지렁이 개체군에 대한 생태독성 현상이 유발되지 않았으며 하수슬러지에 인분케익을 혼합하여 부숙시킨 먹이를 공급한 경우보다 지렁이의 폐기물 처리속도와 지렁이 생체량 증가율이 높았다. The effects of several factors such as heavy metals, living microorganims, high molecular conglomerator in sewage sludge were analysed. And the effects of the sewage sludges which were mixed with other organic waste such as paper mill sludge or night soil sludge upon the feeding rate and biomass of earthworm population were also estimated. The earthworm populations could not survive when newly produced sewage sludges were fed without any pretreatment. The contents of heavy metals were under the levels that could inhibit earthworm's growth. The living microorganisms and the high molecular conglomerator in the sewage sludge had no relations with ecotoxicological effects of sewage sludge upon the earthworm population. Sewage sludge which had been mixed with paper mill sludge and aged for more than 21 days showed no ecotoxicological effects on tiger worm(Eisenia fetida) population. And the feeding rate of earthworm population and the turnover rate of earthworm biomass were higher in those sewage sludges than in the sewage sludges pretreated by other ways.

본 연구는 교육과정 외 시간을 활용하여 운영한 스포츠리그가 중학교 학생들의 학교생활 전반에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 조사하는 데 그 목적이 있었다. 이를 위해 2014년 경기도 소재 D중학교의 전교생을 대상으로 학년별ㆍ학기별ㆍ성별ㆍ 종목별ㆍ학급별로 스포츠리그를 운영하였으며, 본 연구를 통해 24주간 268경기에 1,100여명의 학생들이 참가하여 스포츠리그가 운영된 사례를 기술하였다. 교내 스포츠리그를 운영한 교사 4명 중 연구자를 제외한 체육교사 3명, 학생심판지원단 활동 학생 10명, 교내 스포츠리그 감상평가 대회에 참여한 학생들을 연구 참여자로 선정하였으며, 연구 참여자를 대상으로 한 심층 면담, 참여 관찰, 문서 자료 수집을 통해 연구 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 연구 자료는 사례 기록 분석과 귀납적 범주 분석 방법에 의해 분석되었다. 연구 자료를 분석한 결과, 본 연구를 통해 운영된 교내 스포츠리그는 참여 학생들의 또래문화 형성과 신체활동에 대한 인식변화에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으나 경기를 반복적으로 수행하면서 학생들간의 경쟁심리가 폭력성 표출로 발생하는 등의 부작용 역시 발생한 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of the study was to investigate changes of students’ school life through participation of school sports clue league. In an effort to achieve such research purposes, this study conducted the intramural sports leagues by school year, semester, gender, event, and class targeting students for the first, second, third year courses, and described the cases where operated were the intramural sports leagues covering 268 games, in which about 1,100 students participated for about 24 weeks. Particularly, this study selected 3 PE teachers excluding this researcher among the 4 teachers operating the intramural sports leagues, 10 students for student judge support group activity, and the whole school students who participated in the intramural sports leagues appreciation & review meeting. This study analyzed the data collected like this through the method of case record analysis and inductive category. According to the results, the operation of the intramural sports leagues by school year, semester, gender, event, and class served to develop a foundation, upon which all students could continuously participate in the leagues through the intramural sports leagues operation program proposal that can make it possible all school students could continuously participate in various sports activities delightfully around the class, and the continuous training and publicity for teachers and students increased their consciousness of the necessity and effect of the intramural sports leagues. On the contrary, the research results showed that with the intramural sports leagues operated centering on the student judge support group, students`` violence increased due to complaints about a student judge``s professionalism, a feeling of burden of weekend sports leagues, and excessive desire for winning.

정보 습득의 주요한 원천으로 인터넷이 널리 활용되고 있다. 일반적으로 웹 페이지를 통한 지식습득은 검색 엔진이 반환하는 웹 페이지의 내용을 확인함으로써 이루어지는데, 웹에 존재하는 정보에 대한 접근성 측면에서는 그리 효율적이지 않다. 이는 원하는 정보를 얻기 위해서는 웹 검색과 검색 결과에 대한 확인이 사용자가 만족될 때까지 되풀이 되기 때문이다. 이러한 문제점은 불편함과 지식 습득에 소요되는 시간 비용을 증대시킨다. 본 연구에서는 앞서 언급한 문제점을 극복하기 위한 새로운 웹 서비스의 개념을 제시하였고, 이를 단편적으로 지원하는 Prototype System을 구축하였다. 또한, 웹 페이지를 사용자의 기호에 맞게 변경할 수 있는 개인화 서비스의 개념을 소개하였다.

LED서치라이트(Searchlight)의 초 협각, 고 광도 구현을 위한 광학계 설계 및 광 특성에 관한 연구

In this paper, an optical system with ultra-narrow angle and high brightness, which is a key element of LED searchlights that are highly used in marine and military applications, was designed, and optical properties were evaluated by manufacturing a prototype LED searchlight optical engine. In order to realize the ultra-narrow angle and high brightness of the LED searchlight, the optical system is optimally designed with a parabolic reflector and an LED light source. For the LED light source, an LED source having a high luminous flux per area (lm/m2) was selected and positioned at the focus of the parabolic reflector. Through the light tracing simulation, it was found that the larger the diameter of the parabolic reflector, the higher the luminous intensity and narrow angle can be obtained. After the optimal design of the optical system, a prototype LED searchlight optical engine was prepared and optical properties were evaluated. As a measurement result of the optical properties of the final prototype, the beam angle was 1.5 ° and the luminous intensity was 402,210cd at the power consumption of 8.3W.

아이스링크 빙판 내부 LED디스플레이 결빙 구조 및 영상 최적화에 관한 연구

In this paper, we investigated the structure of ice for optimized image mapping after installing LED display device in the ice. The LED display device installed inside the ice transmits the image to the outside of the ice sheet, while the projector above the ice reflects the image from the ice surface. The core part that affects the LED display and projector image inside the ice structure is the scattering layer. The light transmittance was measured by the scattering layer application frequency, and the relative luminance ratio was calculated by measuring the LED display transmission luminance and the projector reflection luminance. Then, the mapping characteristics that overlapped the LED display image and the projector image were observed and the optimum image mapping condition was confirmed. Through this study, it was confirmed that the larger the scattering layer concentration, the smaller the difference between the LED display luminance and the projector luminance, and the better the mapping image can be obtained.
