        전자기록 에뮬레이션 서비스 개발 사례 연구

        우리나라 공공기록의 디지털 컴포넌트를 장기보존하면서 다양한 기능성을 충분히 재현해내기 위해서는 에뮬레이션 전략이 필요하다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 먼저 대표적인 해외의 에뮬레이션 프로젝트인 CAMiLEON, KB, Planets, KEEP 등에 대한 사례를 통해 디바이스 에뮬레이션, 운영체제 에뮬레이션, 애플리케이션 에뮬레이션 등의 전형적인 에뮬레이션 방안을 비교분석하였다. 다음으로 우리나라 공공기관의 디지털 컴포넌트 포맷 현황을 살펴본 결과 아래아한글문서와 엑셀문서가 전체 디지털 컴포넌트의 90프로에 가까운 비율을 보인다는 점과 파일의 확장자와 실제 내부 포맷이 상이하게 관리되고 있기도 하다는 점을 발견하였다. 아래아한글문서와 엑셀문서 등 주요 포맷들이 문서보존포맷으로 변환되어 보존될 경우 상실하게 되는 기능성과 렌더링 특성을 조사하였으며, 운영체제 에뮬레이터와 애플리케이션 에뮬레이터 프로토타입을 개발하여 이들 문서의 기능성을 손실없이 재현해 보여줄 수 있음을 확인하여 에뮬레이션 전략의 가능성을 보여주고 있다. The objective of this research is to show the possibilities of emulation strategy in the long-term preservation for the digital components of Korean public agencies. First, this study analyzed four major emulation projects that were conducted in the world, such as CAMiLEON, KB, Planets and KEEP. Second, it compared the three different emulation approaches, such as device emulation, OS emulation and application emulation. Third, it searched all the digital components that one public agency produced during the last six years. Through the search, this study found out that the HWP and XLS format files comprised around 90% of the files. Fourth, it examined the functionalities of the formats, which may have been lost when the format was converted to PDF/A. Last, this study introduced the two prototype emulators for the National Archives of Korea. One is a type of OS emulator, while the other is a type of application emulator.

        전자기록 장기보존 전략으로서의 에뮬레이션 사례 분석

        In response to the current electronic record environment, storing electronic records for necessary long terms have been the topic of the times. Especially, the method to preserving original form such as original functional property and bit stream becomes the key to long term preservation of electronic records. Until now in Korea migration methods were chosen as long term preservation strategy for public records, but the limitations were that the functionality and the original bit stream could not be maintained. Among the strategies for long term preservation of electronic records, emulation has significant strengths in that it can replicate the original form of electronic records without changes in the bit stream, and that unlike migration it can establish a single preservation strategy without needing to apply individual strategies according to type of electronic record. Especially because it can replicate the functional components that cannot be implemented in the current long term preservation format, there is a need to study the application method based on the studies of electronic record types currently used by public institutions. This study, to explore the methods for applying emulation as a strategy for the long term preservation of electronic records, reviews the latest study cases from the west about emulation as base study, and tries to analyze the specific cases about the feasibility, target, and methods of emulation. Through this the study tries to explore the implications for domestic application as well as the strengths and weaknesses of emulation. To do this, the study analyses the concept, strengths and weaknesses of emulation as a long term preservation strategy, the analyses the latest best cases of emulation in the west; CAMiLEON, KB, Planets, and KEEP project. Based on these analysis this study tries to suggest implications and application methods for electronic records in the future in Korea. 전자기록 환경을 맞이하여 필요한 기간 동안 장기적으로 전자기록을 보존하는 것은 시대적 화두로 부상하고 있다. 특히 전자기록이 지닌 본래의 기능적 속성 및 원래의 비트스트림을 유지하며 원래의 모습을 그대로 유지할 수 있는 방안은 전자기록의 장기보존을 위한 핵심 관건이 된다. 그동안 우리나라에서는 공공기록을 대상으로 마이그레이션 방식을 장기보존 전략으로 채택해 적용해 왔지만, 기능성 및 원래의 비트스트림을 원래 그대로 유지할 수 없다는 점에서 한계가 노정되어 왔다. 전자기록의 장기보존 전략으로서 에뮬레이션은 비트스트림의 변화 없이 전자기록의 원형을 그대로 재현할 수 있다는 점에서, 아울러 마이그레이션처럼 전자기록 유형별로 개별적인 전략을 적용할 필요 없이 일괄적인 보존전략을 구현할 수 있다는 점에서 상당한 강점을 지닌 보존전략이다. 특히 현재 우리나라 전자기록의 장기보존 포맷에서는 구현해 주지 못하는 전자기록의 기능적 구성요소를 재현해 줄 수 있다는 점에서, 현재 공공기관에 보유 중인 전자기록 유형 조사를 기반으로 그 실현 방안을 연구할 필요가 있다. 이에 본고에서는 전자기록의 장기보존 전략으로서 에뮬레이션의 적용 방안을 모색하기 위한 기초 연구로 에뮬레이션에 관한 서구의 최신 연구 사례를 검토하고, 에뮬레이션의 타당성과 대상, 방법에 대한 구체적인 사례를 고찰하려고 한다. 이를 통해 에뮬레이션이 지닌 장단점과 더불어 국내 적용을 위한 시사점을 모색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본고에서는 에뮬레이션의 개념과 함께 장기보존 전략으로서 에뮬레이션이 지닌 장단점을 분석한 다음, 에뮬레이션에 관한 서구의 최신 선진 사례로 CAMiLEON, KB, Planets, KEEP 프로젝트를 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 기반으로 향후 우리나라 전자기록에 대한 시사점 및 적용 방향을 제시하고자 하였다.

      • S-OpenSGX: A system-level platform for exploring SGX enclave-based computing

        <P>Intel recently introduced Software Guard Extensions (SGX) to enable applications to protect their selected code and data from privileged platform software. As it draws wider attention from the security research community, an open-source emulator for SGX (OpenSGX) has been developed to allow researchers to explore the SGX environment. To the best of our knowledge, OpenSGX is currently the only publicly available SGX emulation platform; however, its system-level support is largely limited owing to its user-mode emulation. In particular, experiments that require system functionalities or device emulation cannot be conducted with the current OpenSGX. To solve this problem, we propose System-OpenSGX (S-OpenSGX), which leverages QEMU's system emulation to provide researchers with full system-level support for exploring SGX enclave-based programming. In this paper, we show the design of S-OpenSGX, including system functionalities such as scheduling, multithreading, page table handling, and SGX paging. Non-trivial issues derived from the difference between user-mode and system emulation, and our approaches to addressing them are also described. Lastly, we utilize S-OpenSGX to experiment with a new mitigation method against the data leaking attack on enclave threads and an APIC (Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller) device modification to reduce SGX's mode switch overhead.       • Dual-mode power regulator for photovoltaic module emulation

        Photovoltaic (PV) module emulators, which can provide reproducible and controllable input power profile for a load device corresponding to different ambient conditions for a PV module, can significantly reduce the level of effort and cost for the development and optimization of the PV module, load devices, as well as interfacing power converters. In this paper, we introduce a dual-mode power regulator for the PV emulation. The dual-mode regulator consists of a voltage regulator and a current regulator, connected by two diodes for power hybridization. The circuit switches between the two regulators in order to accurately emulate the electrical output behavior of a PV module under different ambient conditions (e.g., solar irradiance, temperature) and load demands. The proposed regulator circuit provides accurate emulation results over the full operating range of the PV module by complementary use of the two regulators. We develop a robust control method for producing an accurate I-V curve with compensation of the loss in the circuit components. We validate the behavior of the proposed circuit and control method by Matlab/Simulink simulations and experiments. The experimental results shows that the PV emulation output is greatly improved with the proposed dual-mode regulator.

        A Comprehensive Large-Wind-Turbine Emulator for Accurate Wind-Energy Harvest Evaluation

        Robust modeling and emulation are required to support the design of ultra-wind turbines and analyze the efects of various factors, parameters, and environmental disturbances. The models that are constructed based on pure computational methods, in which the entire emulator is created in computational software are cost-efective, and their speed depends on the employed computation platform. However, these methods' practical signifcance and accuracy are considerably lower than that of the combined physical and computational platform methods. Therefore, A comprehensive 5 MW wind turbine emulator’s design and implementation are investigated thoroughly in this paper. A separately excited DC motor set under the control of a current-controlled drive forms the basis of the suggested emulation. The emulation algorithms that simulate the features of the 5 MW wind turbine are executed on a digital signal processor. These algorithms regulate the DC motor's current, which in turn regulates the torque. The results obtained demonstrate that the system was successful in accurately simulating the transient and steady-state characteristics of the 5 MW wind turbine. The emulator system was initially tested and validated with simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink code attached to both the FAST and TurbSim models. Furthermore, step and stochastic wind profles were used to experimentally verify and test it. Nearly all of the power that is available in the wind turbine system is successfully acquired using the maximum power point tracking technique, which is used to fnd the optimum operating point. The developed wind turbine emulator can be used to precisely assess energy harvesting by examining various mechanical and electrical input/output values of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator vastly used in ultra-large wind turbine nacelles.

        생존체계 위협조우 상황인지를 위한 복합/다중 위협상황 Emulation 연구

        무기체계의 현대화 및 복잡화에 따라 현대전 상황에서의 플랫폼 및 운용자에 대한 생존성 확보를 필요로 하게 되었다. 현대 전장의 복합 및 다중 위협상황 무기체계에 대응하기 위하여 다수의 무기체계 플랫폼에서 생존체계를 함께 탑재하게 된다. 생존체계는 무기체계 플랫폼을 위협하는 위협들을 탐지/식별하며 효율적인 대응을 통하여 운용자로 하여금 정확한 상황인지를 가능하게 하고 플랫폼의 생존 능력을 향상시킨다. 생존체계가 보유하여야 할 중요 성능 인자는 복합 및 다중 위협에 대한 처리를 통하여 생존성을 확보하는 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 레이다, 레이저, 미사일 단일 위협상황을 조합한 복합 위협상황을 다룸으로 하여 생존체계가 보유하여야 하는 위협통합 알고리즘을 제시하고, 복합 위협상황을 Emulation하는 시스템을 실험실 환경에서 구현하여 위협통합 알고리즘에 대한 성능을 검증하였다. 이를 통해 생존체계가 플랫폼 탑재 이전에 성능 및 신뢰성을 확보할 수 있는 방안에 대하여 제시한다. As the substantial increase in battlefield density, multiple and complex weapon systems, Ensuring the Survivability of the platform has been emphasized. Most of platforms have equipped with ASE (Aircraft Survivability Equipment) system in order to protect the platform and operator against at modernized hostile weapon. ASE system enhance the survivability of the platform through providing accurate situation awareness information by detecting and countermeasuring hostile threats. One of Key factor of the AE system performance is handling multiple and complex threats. In this study, it describes the fact that the performance of ASE system with proposed threat integration algorithm is verified in the developed threat emulation system and also, suggests system verification method before deployment by dealing with complex threat situation.

        An Analysis of Deng Sanmu’s Seal Cutting Emulation-Centering on Ancient Seal, Qin Seal and Han Seal

        In November 1983, Deng Sanmu’s wife, Zhang Jianquan, donated a large number of Deng Sanmu’s original seal carving stones and seal cutting scores to the Heilongjiang Provincial Museum in China. Therefore, the Heilongjiang Provincial Museum of China is the richest and most authoritative place to collect Deng Sanmu’s original seal cutting stones and seal carving scores. According to the fieldwork, the original seal cutting stones and the seal cutting score donated by Deng Sanmu’s wife, Zhang Jianquan, include Deng Sanmu’s seal cutting inscriptions made between 1922 and 1963. In addition, Deng Sanmu’s own life and career in the art are documented in detail in his markings, so the seal cutting inscriptions of Deng Sanmu in the collection of the Heilongjiang Provincial Museum of China are quite representative. We paper is a documentary review and study of the seal inscriptions of Deng Sanmu in the collection of the Heilongjiang Provincial Museum in China. For the accuracy and richness of this study, a total of 89 representative seals in the collection are used as primary sources to study Deng Sanmu’s seal cutting emulation method. The specific content is centered on ancient seals, Qin seals, and Han seals, from which the lineage of Deng Sanmu’s emulation methods of seal cutting is further clarified.

        에뮬레이션을 이용한 바닥복사난방 시스템의 실온제어성능 평가

        This study presents the emulation-based evaluation of the control performance for a radiant floor heating system. Since room air temperature is dependent on heat output, which is determined by the pressure loss and flow rate in hydronic network, the interaction between thermal and hydraulic models need to be considered in the evaluation of the control performance. To do this, this study suggests an emulation method, or hardware-in-the-loop-simulation (HILS), where the hydronic network is replaced by real hardware and the building physics is analyzed by a Simulink-based simulation. In the emulation, the pressure loss and flow rate in the hydronic network were represented by replacing the real pipe with a balancing valve. In addition, by making real control systems connect hydronic network and building simulation, the interaction between building physics (room air temperature), control system (control valve) and hydronic network (hot water flow rate) can be taken into account in the evaluation. Based on the proposed emulation method, the control performance of several control strategies were evaluated in terms of the accuracy and rise time. The result shows that the individual control needs to be combined with hydronic balancing for more accurate control. Hydronic control devices such as a flow limit valve and a pressure differential control valve also proved to be helpful to the improvement of the control performance.

        임베디드 디바이스 펌웨어의 웹 인터페이스 취약점 식별을 위한 에뮬레이션 기반 퍼징 기법

        The security of the firmware is more important because embedded devices have become popular. Network devices suchas routers can be attacked by attackers through web application vulnerabilities in embedded firmware. Therefore, they mustbe found and removed quickly. The Firmadyne framework proposes a dynamic analysis method to find vulnerabilities afteremulating firmware. However, it only performs vulnerability checks according to the analysis methods defined in the tool,thus limiting the scope of vulnerabilities that can be found. In this paper, fuzzing is performed in emulation-basedenvironment through fuzzing, one of the software security test techniques. We also propose a Fabfuzz tool for efficientemulation based fuzzing. Experiments have shown that in addition to the vulnerabilities identified in existing tools, othertypes of vulnerabilities have been found. 임베디드 디바이스의 대중화로 인해 펌웨어의 보안은 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 유무선 공유기와 같은 네트워크 장비는 내재된 펌웨어의 웹 인터페이스 취약점을 통해 외부의 공격자로부터 피해를 받을 수 있기 때문에 빠르게 찾아내어제거해야 한다. 이전 연구인 Firmadyne 프레임워크는 펌웨어를 에뮬레이션 한 뒤 취약점을 찾아내기 위한 동적 분석 방법을 제안한다. 그러나 이는 도구에서 정의된 분석 방법대로만 취약점 점검을 수행하므로 찾을 수 있는 취약점의 범위가 한정되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 보안 테스트 기술 중 하나인 퍼징을 통해 에뮬레이션 기반 환경에서의 퍼징 테스트를 수행한다. 또한 효율적인 에뮬레이션 기반 퍼징을 위해 Fabfuzz 도구를 제안한다. 실험을 통해 확인한 결과 기존 도구에서 식별했던 취약점뿐만 아니라 다른 유형의 취약점도 발견할 수 있다.

        A non-volatile memory access for automotive ECUs is used for various purposes including application data, calibration parameters, diagnostic trouble codes, reprogramming or non-volatile memory data access through CAN / XCP protocols. Recently the demands of providing the non-volatile information to the complete system requires the different data processing depending on the data types capable to influence the functional safety concept or the interface types such as read only data, cyclic data or immediate data without decreasing the performance. This paper describes a non-volatile memory access speed improvement scheme to store data while securing and monitoring damaged data using EEPROM Emulation.
