Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the need for the preparation of old age of dental hygienists and happy life. Methods: This study is a descriptive study. A self-reported questionnaire in Likert 5 scale was completed by the dental hygienists in Korea through online report or written report from December, 2012 to June, 2013. Except incomplete answers, 200 data were analyzed. The questionnaire consisted of 10 questions of preparation for old age and awareness for old ages, 9 questions of physical preparation, and 9 questions of emotional preparation. Cronbach’s alpha of old age preparation and awareness of old age was 0.634 in the study. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.709 and 0.757 in physical preparation and emotional preparation, respectively. The final analyses of 200 copies were conducted using SPSS 11.5 software for Windows(SPSS Inc., Chicago, lllinois, USA). Results: Awareness toward preparation for old age of dental hygienists was 3.72 points, physical preparation was 2.94 points, and emotional preparation was 2.91 points. Awareness toward preparation for old age of dental hygienists showed the relationship between birth date, marital status, education level, and subjective health condition. Physical preparation was closely related to birth date, marital status, education level, and the workplace. Emotional preparation was closely related to birth date, marital status, education level, and the workplace. Conclusions: This study suggested that preparation for old age of dental hygienists was very important and the preparation must be connected with the social welfare policy.

Vol.21 No.4

In Korea, the proportion of elderly people is rising steeply to the point of being called compressed aging, and despite the fact that the elderly poverty rate is the highest among OECD member countries, many people are still poorly prepared for their retirement preparation. Therefore, this study examines the actual condition of the retirement preparation service, the previous studies, and the plan to utilize the retirement preparation service of the National Pension Service, and presents the present situation of the retirement preparation and the retirement preparation plan using the national pension system for the pastors belonging to the Korean Church of the Nazarene as it is expected that the retirement preparation of the Protestant unindependent pastors with insufficient retirement preparation system is the worst. The preparation for retirement preparation through the national pension can be realized through the participation of pastors in the national pension, but since the participation rate is low due to the burden of insurance premiums to be paid, it is necessary to prepare a plan for the minimum preparation of retirement preparation for ministers who practice sharing and preach the gospel according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. In addition, the method of using the income tax system for religious people and joining as a voluntary member is also a difficult way for the pastor to carry out on his own, so it is necessary to provide support at the level of large churches or denominations in cities with financial resources in order to prepare for the retirement of pastors who are experiencing economic difficulties.

Prospective analysis of factors associated with inadequate bowel preparation for colonoscopy in actual clinical practice

( Dae Hyung Woo ),( Kyeong Ok Kim ),( Da Eun Jeong ),( Yoon Jeong Nam ),( Si Hyung Lee ),( Byung Ik Jang ),( Tae Nyeun Kim ) 대한장연구학회 2018 Intestinal Research Vol.16 No.2

Background/Aims: Inadequate bowel preparation can result in prolonged procedure time and increased missed lesion and complication rates. This prospective study aimed to evaluate bowel preparation quality and identify the predictive factors for inadequate bowel preparation in actual clinical practice. Methods: We included 399 patients who underwent colonoscopy between June 2015 and July 2016. Using the Aronchick bowel preparation scale, we defined a score ≤2 as adequate preparation and a score >2 as inadequate preparation. Results: Mean patient age was 58.38±12.97 years; 60.6% were male. Indications for colonoscopy included screening (69.7%) and surveillance after polyp removal (21.3%). A split-dose regimen was prescribed to 55.4% of patients. The inadequate bowel preparation rate was 28.1%. Overall, the median time between the last bowel preparation agent dose and start of colonoscopy was 5.0 hours (range, 1.5-16.0 hours); that of the adequate group was 5.0 hours (range, 1.5-16.0 hours); and that of the inadequate group was 5 hours (range, 2-23 hours). The mean bowel preparation scale score of the ascending colon (1.94±0.25) was significantly higher than that of other colon segments. On multivariate analysis, elderly age, history of cerebrovascular disease, history of gastrectomy or appendectomy, and total preparation solution uptake <2 L were the independent predictors of inadequate bowel preparation. Conclusions: The inadequate bowel preparation rate was 28.1%. Risk factors included elderly age and history of cerebrovascular disease or abdominal surgery. Patients with these risk factors require special care and education. (Intest Res 2018;16:293-298)

2023 Financial Planning Review Vol.16 No.3

This study aimed to identify the awareness, capability, and actual status of the retirement preparation among young adults. The study was conducted on 540 young adults aged between 20 to 30 years who had been working for 5 years or less and had a regular monthly income. The results of the study showed that young adults were aware of the need for retirement preparation in all areas (leisure, work, social interaction, nest, ballast, finance, health), but they placed a higher priority on areas that were related to financial preparation for retirement. The levels of capabilities required for retirement preparation were knowledge, skill, and attitude in that increasing order. The level of preparation for retirement in terms of actual status was higher in the areas of health and finance. The study also found that women, participants with lower levels of education, and those with lower incomes had a higher level of awareness on the importance of preparing for retirement, but had lower level of skills required for the same and status. The results of the analysis of the relationship between the actual status of retirement preparation in different areas among young adults and their capability and awareness showed that knowledge related to preparation for retirement does not have a direct impact on the actual status of preparation. However, it has an impact on the awareness of the importance or a full mediation effect. Hence, it is necessary to improve their awareness on retirement preparation. The areas where the full mediation effect of retirement preparation knowledge through the awareness of the importance of retirement preparation was statistically significant were the areas of finance and health. Retirement preparation knowledge has an impact on awareness. However, the retirement preparation attitude does not have an impact on awareness. On the other hand, retirement preparation knowledge does not have an impact on actual status. However, retirement preparation attitude and skill often have an impact on the actual status. Therefore, it was confirmed that the capability, knowledge, attitude, and skill for retirement preparation should be integrated into the actual status of retirement preparation. This suggests that a variety of effective options for retirement preparation should be provided to young adults according to the perceived gaps in the necessary retirement preparation areas.

Vol.44 No.2

Although social awareness of the importance of well-dying has increased, empirical evidence for well-dying policies and programs is very scarce. Additionally, there is limited research examining whether perceptions about dying well vary by the types of end-of-life preparation. Accordingly, this study sought to classify the end-of-life preparation among older Korean adults and verify differences in perceptions about well-dying according to subgroups. For this, older Korean adults aged 65 and above who participated in ‘2020 National Survey of Older Koreans’ were analyzed by dividing them into three groups: 5,977 young-old adults (65-74 years old), 3,333 old-old adults (75-84 years old), and 610 oldest-old adults (85 years old and above). End-of-life preparation was measured by four questions in the ritual aspect (e.g., preparing shrouds or funeral portraits), two questions in the psycho-social aspect (e.g., attending educational programs and writing a will), and two questions in the medical aspect (e.g., writing advance directives and pledging to donate organs). Perceptions about well-dying were measured using four items, assessing the importance of dying autonomously, without pain, in the company of family and acquaintances, and without burdening those around them. For statistical analysis, a three-stage latent class analysis and difference test which accounted for classification errors were conducted. As a result of the analysis, the young-old adults were classified into the ‘active preparation’ group, which showed a relatively active level of preparation, and the ‘no preparation’ group, which lacked preparation for end-of-life in all dimen sion s. The old-old and oldest-old adults were classified into the ‘active preparation’ group and the ‘passive preparation’ group, which was limited to end-of-life preparation only in the ritual aspect. In particular, the proportion of the ‘active preparation’ group in all generations was very low, ranging from 3 to 6%. The results of the difference test on perceptions of well-dying showed that among the young-old an d old-old adults classified into the ‘active preparation’ group, the scores for the importance of each item were significantly lower compared to those of the ‘no preparation’ or the ‘passive preparation’ groups. Among the oldest-old adults, the ‘active preparation’ group regarded end-of-life companionship with family and acquaintances as less important than the ‘passive preparation’ group. The results of this study suggest that the level of end-of-life preparation among older adults in Korea, from young-old to oldest-old, remains low and is predominantly focused on the ritual aspect. Furthermore, perceptions about well-dying vary according to the types of end-of-life preparation. The findings of this study underscore the need for tailored approaches in well-dying policies and programs, such as end-of-life preparation education, that consider the heterogeneity within the older population.

2018 International Journal of Advanced Culture Technolo Vol.6 No.3

This study was a cross-sectional descriptive study of the effects of emotional happiness on aging preparation for 45-60 year olds. Participants of this study were 312 volunteers and data was collected online, the collection period was from May 15, 2018 to May 31, 2018. The tools used in the research were the emotional happiness developed by Watson et al (1988) et al., the aging preparation developed by JH Lee (2009). Analysis was done using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and regression by SPSS 18.0. As a result of the analysis, 84.0% of participants felt physically healthy and 89.8% felt mental health. The spouses of participants were physically 83.4% healthy and mentally 82.7% healthy. The correlation between emotional happiness, health cognition and aging preparation showed that physical health had a correlation with mental health (r = .482, p <0.01) and emotional happiness (r = .369, p <0.01), economic aging preparation (r = .411, p <0.01), social aging preparation (r = .119, p <0.01). Mental health was correlated with emotional happiness (r = .491, p <0.01), economic aging preparation (r = .411, p <0.01) and social aging preparation. Difference between emotional happiness and retirement preparation according to presence or absence of disease, emotional happiness (t = -4.503, p <0.01) and economic aging preparation (t = -4.960, p <0.01) were statistically significant. Emotional happiness affects the preparation of old age, emotional happiness affects to physical aging preparation under statistical significance (F=25.191, p<0.01), economic aging preparation (F=1131.783, p<0.01), and social aging preparation (F=147.672, p<0.01) which were sub components of aging preparation. Emotional happiness showed a 7.5% effect on the preparation of physical aging, 78.4% on economic aging preparation and 32.3% on social aging preparation. Based on the above results, it can be concluded that physical health and mental health are related to emotional happiness, economic aging preparation, and social aging preparation. And also these results can be inferred that the illness causes emotional less feeling of happiness and economic difficulty. Based on the results of this study, emotional well - being influences the retirement preparation significantly at statistical significance. Therefore, if the concept of emotional happiness is introduced to the old-age preparation program, it will be more client centered program.

(KLAR) Vol.13 No.1

This Study has surveyed the consciousness of the aged people about how they prepare for their future as they are experiencing the aging. This Study has resulted by the variables which are ‘The recognition of the aging’, ‘The health promoting behaviour’ and ‘Preparation for aging’. If we look closer to the results, Firstly, ‘The recognition of the aging’ is affected the most by the ‘Self efficacy’. ‘The health promoting behaviour’ is affected by the ‘Self-realization’. ‘Preparation for aging’ is affected by ‘Preparing Free time’. Secondly, In the connection between ‘The recognition of Successful Aging’ and ‘Health promoting behaviour’, ‘Self-realization’ is affected the most by the ‘Self-efficacy’ and ‘the psycho-social stability’. Thirdly, In the connection between ‘The health promoting behaviour’ and ‘The preparation of aging’, ‘Physical activity’ affects ‘the preparation of aging’ and ‘the physical preparation’. In the range of ‘Self realization’, It gets affected the most by ‘the emotional preparation’ and ‘the free-time preparation’. Fourthly, In the relationship between ‘the recognition of successful aging’ and ‘preparation of aging’, In fact, ‘the recognition of successful aging’ does not affect the variable which is ‘preparation of aging’. Lastly, It has turned out that the variables which are Economical preparation, physical preparation, free-time preparation and emotional preparation are all perfectly mediated by ‘The stability of the psycho-social’ through ‘Self realization’. Moreover, Economical preparation, physical preparation, free-time preparation are all perfectly mediated by the variable which is Self efficacy through the ‘Self realization’. But, for the variable ‘Emotional preparation’, it is only partially mediated by self efficacy. However, Physical activities are not mediating anything at all. Regarding to this survey, I suggest the following policies in the range of pension and health. First, various Policies such as ‘extension of the retirement age’, ‘encouraging more jobs’ and ‘improving polices in regard of pension’ should be provided. Especially, not only ‘the extension of the management and insurances in public pension, But also the way to promoting people for joining the private pension should be accelerated in political way. Second, for the purpose of promoting the health education program, trail, bike way, park, and installing public gym should be supported in national dimension so people can easily use these stuffs.
