        공유자동차(Car-sharing)기반의 미래 모빌리티 발전방향에 관한 연구

        The aim of this research is to understand the value of car sharing and to explore the future direction of improved model. Car sharing is a mobility service that users could share the cars among the car fleets of car sharing operators and it has shown a rapid growth recently. The financial crisis started in 2008 has struck at the very foundation of the ownership society and the existing perception towards house and car, which have been regarded as a representative assets, are now mentioned as two biggest markets that lead the growth of sharing economy. Car sharing has been regarded as an alternative mode of transport that could mitigate the chronic traffic issues in urban area such as traffic congestion, insufficient parking space and air pollution. Moreover, the improvement of ICT along with the shifting perception towards car among young motorist have led such a sharp increase of car sharing market. In this paper, in order to understand the research topic, firstly, the literature review of car sharing and case study of three types car sharing have been conducted in order to understand and define the value of the car sharing as a future mode of transport. Secondly the case study of B2C car sharing models was conducted. In particular, the discussion of the value of adopting service design to car sharing is an important topic as it is evident that several principle of service design including co-production is expected to play a prominent role in offering user centred mobility design. In conclusion, under the current circumstance where the adoption of car sharing is still in an early stage with the introduction of one-way model along with the round-trip model will lead to increase the market and could be expanded as an alternative mode of transport, the value of such a research will lie in conceiving diverse mobility design scheme for megacities in the future. 본 연구는 모빌리티로서의 카쉐어링(Car-sharing)의가치를 인지하고 향후 발전모델의 방향성에 대하여고찰하고자 하였다. 카쉐어링 (Car-shring)은 공유기반의 모빌리티 서비스로서 현재 급격한 성장세를 보이고 있다. 2008년 금융위기가 촉발한 소유의 개념에대한 변화는 대표적인 소유재인 자동차와 집을 공유경제의 대표적인 산업으로 탈바꿈시켰다. 카쉐어링은차량소유에 따른 부담감을 해소하고, 도심의 고질적인교통문제를 완화하는데 가장 현실적인 미래 모빌리티로 여겨지고 있으며, ICT의 급격한 발전과 카쉐어링의 대표적 사용자층인 밀레니얼세대로 대표되는 젊은운전자들의 자동차에 대한 인식변화로 새로운 발전국면을 맞고 있다. 본 연구에서는 카쉐어링이라는 연구주제의 이해를 위하여 첫째, 문헌분석을 통해 공유경제의 활성화와 카쉐어링의 성장세 그리고 밀레니얼세대들의 자동차를 향한 개념변화에 대하여 논하였으며, 둘째, B2C기반의 대표적인 세 가지 운영모델을분석하였다. 셋째, 상대적으로 새로운 모빌리티 서비스인 카쉐어링에서의 서비스 디자인 개념의 중요성과가치에 대하여 서술하였으며 향후 새로운 모빌리티디자인을 제안함에 있어 서비스디자인의 역할이 점차중요해질것으로 여겨진다. 결론적으로 현재 도입단계에 있는 카쉐어링이 새로운 모빌리티로서의 가능성을인정받고 확대되기 위해서는 기존의 왕복모델과 더불어 편도모델의 도입으로 인한 카쉐어링 시장의 급격한 성장세가 예견되는 가운데, 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 사용자 중심의 공유기반 모빌리티 디자인연구가 이루어져야 할 것으로 여겨지며, 향후 대도시를 기반으로 하는 다양한 모빌리티 디자인 제안에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

        스마트카 산업에서 플랫폼사업자와 완성차업체의 전략적 포지셔닝 분석

        스마트카 산업은 급속한 ICT기술의 발전과 함께 커넥티드카, 인포테인먼트, 텔레매틱스, 자율주행차, 무인자동차, 전기자동차의 상용화 추세와 함께 미래 자동차 산업의 판도를 결정할 주요한 변수로 부각되고 있다. 본 연구는 스마트카 시장의 방향을 결정할 플랫폼공급자와 완성차업체의 주도권경쟁 및 전략적 포지셔닝을 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 스마트카 기술을 주도하고 있는 플랫폼업체에 비해 완성차업체는 규모의 경제, 산업 인프라 및 글로벌 생산 네트워크와 같은 높은 산업구조적 진입장벽과 헤드섹터 정보의 보유와 같은 기술적 진입장벽에도 불구하고 ICT기술면에서의 혁신적 변화가 뒷받침 되지 않을 경우, 맵핑기술과 사용자정보 접근성, 빅데이터 활용능력, 사용자 인터페이스 경험 등 스마트카 관련 영역에서 우위에 있는 플랫폼업체들에게로 주도권이 이전될 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 예상의 근거는 보다 중요해지고 있는 소프트웨어 및 플랫폼의 가치와 전기차의 상용화로 증명된 자동차구조의 간편화에 기반하고 있다. 본 연구는 기능 및 안전 적용방안이나 업체별 기술력에 대한 분석에 초점이 맞춰져 있던 기존 스마트카 관련 연구에서 한걸음 나아가 기술제휴 동향 및 플랫폼업체의 전략적 접근성 관점에서 향후 스마트카 시장의 경쟁구도를 완성차업체와 비교 연구하고 시사점을 제시한 측면에서 의의가 있다. The smart-car industry has emerged as the important variable that will decide the future industrial contour of the automotive industry, together with commercialization of electronic vehicles, connected cars, infotainment, telematics, and the autonomous/self-driving car. This study analyzesthe strategic position of platform companies and car manufacturers that would determine the future of the smart-car market. The findings of this study show that despite the entry barriers in industrial factors, such as economies of scale, the industrial infrastructure, and global production networks, and technical factors like exclusive head-sector information, car manufacturers may be deprived of their industrial leadership by platform companies with map and user data, big data capabilities, and user interface experience ifthey lag behind ICT innovation. This insight is based on the emerging importance of software and platforms, and the simplification of car structures, provenby the successful commercialization of electronic vehicles. This study complements existing studies mainly focused on technical aspects of the smart-car industry by examining the strategic dimensions of platform companies and their approach to the future smart-car market by comparing them with existing car manufacturing multinationals.

        자동차 모니터를 이용한 스마트폰 미러링크 방법 및 효용성에 관한 융복합 연구

        IT companies are increasingly taking interest in the automobile industry as a major industry of the future. Companies specializing in information technology, such as Google, Apple and Samsung, are actively taking part in the automobile industry and are conducting various research on connected cars. At this point in time, this study aims on understanding the concept of connected cars and the concept of mirror linking, which is one of the many methods in connecting cars. In this transitional period of connected cars, the purpose of this study is to present the method of mirror linking iPhones and to discover how this could be used in connected cars. By turning a normal car into a connected car, simply with a smartphone in hand, the ideas presented in this study will serve as an opportunity for many current automobile owners to experience the functions of connected cars of the future without shouldering additional expenses. 최근 IT 기업들에서 미래 산업으로 자동차에 관한 관심이 지속적으로 증가 하고 있다. 구글, 애플, 삼성과 같은 IT전문 기업들이 자동차 산업에 뛰어 들어 커넥티드카 무선랜이 장착되어 인터넷 접속이 가능한 자동차 [1] 분야에 많은 연구를 집중 하고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 커넥티드카의 개념에 대해 알아 보고 현재 커넥티드카의 여러 방법 중 하나인 미리링크에 관해 알아 본다. 또한 이러한 커넥티드카의 과도기적인 시점에서 아이폰을 이용한 미러링크의 한 방법을 제안하고 이것을 이용한 커넥티드카의 활용방법에 대해 알아보는 것을 본 연구의 목적으로 한다. 이러한 제안은 현재 자동차를 구매한 많은 사람들이 추가 비용을 들이지 않고 앞으로 출시될 커넥티드카의 기능을 포함 하고 있는 자동차를 미리 경험 할 수 있는 기회가 될 것이며 사용하고 있는 스마트 폰을 통해 자동차를 커넥티드카로 만들 수 있는 경험을 하게 될 것이다.

        커넥티드 카 분야 규제합리화를 위한 위험평가 활용 방안 연구

        정보통신기술이 발전함에 따라 자동차도 정보통신기술과 융합하여 상시 네트워크에 연결된 커넥티드 카(Connected Car)로 발전하고 있다. 본 연구는 커넥티드 카 분야 위험평가를 통해 커넥티드 카 분야의 위협사건에 대한 적절한 규제 대응방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 커넥티드 카 관련 예상 가능한 총 20건의 위협사건의 시나리오를 개발하고 시나리오별 위협사건의 발생가능성과 발생 영향도를 전문가 설문조사를 통해 평가한 후 양자를 결합하여 위협사건의 위험수준을 도출하였다. 이러한 위험평가 후 전문가들이 평가한 위험수준과 현재의 규제 대응 수준을 비교하여 적절한 규제대안을 제시하였다. 규제대안은 커넥티드 카의 기술발전 수준에 따라 단계적으로 제시하였으며, 위험수준과 현재의 규제 강도가 일치하는 경우에는 현행 유지로, 현재의 규제 수준이 미흡한 경우에는 신설·강화로, 위험수준보다 규제 수준이 과도한 경우에는 폐지·완화로 구분하여 제안하였다. As information and communication technology develops, automobiles are also being developed into connected cars that are continually connected to networks in convergence with information and communication technology. This study aimed to present appropriate regulatory response measures for threats against the connected car sector based on risk assessment in the sector of connected cars. To this end, a total of 20 threat event scenarios concerning connected cars that can be anticipated were developed. In addition, the probability of occurrence and impact level of the occurrence of threat events for each scenario were evaluated through expert surveys. By combining both results, this study derived the risk level of threat events. After the risk assessment, appropriate regulatory measures were proposed by comparing the risk level evaluated by experts with the present level of regulatory response. Regulatory measures were presented by stage according to the level of technological development of connected cars. When the risk level and the present regulatory strength corresponded, this study proposed maintaining the present level, while suggesting to newly establish or reinforce when the present level of regulation is insufficient and abolish or mitigate when the regulatory level is excessive than the risk level.

      • Security Considerations for a Connected Car

        A connected car offers various information services and entertainment services inside the car because of the addition of the network connection function as a connection between a device inside the car and an outside network. This network can connect the car with a network such as 3G/LTE to allow a bilateral real-time service. This allows the “smart devicing” of the car. However, because of the addition of the abovementioned function, the car is exposed to various safety accidents. In this paper, we analyze the security threats posed in a connected car environment and discuss the trend of research concerning safety in such an environment. In addition the application platform future is also discussed.

      • Strategic management of next-generation connected life: Focusing on smart key and car-home connectivity

        With the development of wireless technology, connectivity is becoming a more common feature of daily life. Connected cars and smart homes are typical examples, and the two markets are beginning to merge, as indicated by Apple's launch of ''CarPlay'' and ''Home Kit'' and iControl's partnership with Zubie. However, little research has been done on this subject because the integration of connected cars and smart homes has just begun. This study examines consumer preference for smart key functions (vehicle functions requested from outside the car) and car-home connectivity functions (communications between car and home), among others. Both revealed and stated preference datasets from a survey of U.S. drivers are used. The multivariate probit model and Bayesian estimation method are used to analyze consumer preferences. The results showed different preferences depending on socio-demographics and vehicle types. This paper provides marketing strategies for smart key functions and car-home connectivity functions by revealing socio-demographic characteristics and consumer preferences.

        The Design, Implementation, Demonstration of the Architecture, Service Framework, and Applications for a Connected Car

        While the conventional vehicle’s Head-Units played relatively simple roles (e.g., control of heating ventilation and air conditioning, the radio reception), they have been evolving into vehicle-driver interface with the advent of the concept of Connected Car on top of a rapid development of ICT technology. The Head-Unit is now successfully extended as an IVI (In Vehicle Infotainment) that can operate various functions on multimedia, navigation, information with regards to vehicle’s parts (e.g. air pressure, oil gauge, etc.). In this paper, we propose a platform architecture for IVI devices required to achieve the goal as a connected car. Connected car platform (CoCaP) consists of vehicle selective gateway (VSG) for receiving and controlling data from major components of a vehicle, application framework including native and web APIs required to request VSG functionality from outside, and service framework for driver assistance. CoCaP is implemented using Tizen IVI and Android on hardware platforms manufactured for IVI such as Nexcom’s VTC1010 and Freescale’s i.MX6q/dl, respectively. For more practical verification, CoCaP platform was applied to an real-world finished vehicle. And it was confirmed the vehicle’s main components could be controlled using various devices. In addition, by deriving several services for driver assistance and developing them based on CoCaP, this platform is expected to be available in various ways in connected car and ITS environments.

        A Classification of Car-related Mobile Apps: For App Development from a Convergence Perspective

        This study selected car-related mobile apps for app developers suffering from low revenue and classified car apps assisting users in driving or managing a car. A total of 697 car apps were classified into eight categories. Most apps are in four categories: car news & information (28%), locating service (23%), car rental service (15%), safe/efficient driving service (12%). The remaining categories are buying & selling, driver’s communication, maintenance management, and expenses monitoring. Many apps are simple and too similar in their main functions. Only a few apps are designed to be more comprehensive and have functions in two or more categories. For the practicality of the categorization scheme, this study checked the inter-rater reliability in two tests and got 0.886 and 0.828. The result from this study suggests functions that are not implemented yet or need to be combined. Future research will focus on identifying promising car apps or designing multi-functional car apps.

        In the preparation for the future mobility, the automotive and related industries are focusing on the creating value for ‘interaction’ to provide new experiences and values to users. This paper applied components of human-connected car interaction and mobile-connected car interaction through the scenario-based survey method, in order to study the influence of contextual usefulness, contextual responsiveness, user control, and user connectivity on the perceived value and purchase intention of connected car. A structural equation was used to examine the causal relationship between each variable, and validation has shown that although most hypotheses have been adopted, there is no significant impact between user control and emotional value. Through this, the study is to provide companies in the automotive and related industries with practical approaches to further promote the purchase of connected car.

        커넥티드 카를 위한 운전자 감성추론 기반의 차량 제어 및 애플리케이션/서비스 프레임워크

        In this paper, we determined the driver’s stress and fatigue level through physiological signals of a driver in the connected car environment, accordingly designing and implementing the architecture of the connected cars’ platforms needed to provide services to make the driving environments comfortable and reduce the driver’s fatigue level. It includes a gateway between AVN and ECU for the vehicle control, a framework for native applications and web applications based on AVN, and a sensing device and an emotion estimation engine for application services. This paper will provide the element technologies for the connected car-based convergence services and their implementation methods, and reference models for the service design.
