The importance of simulation of plastic flow in the injection mold is increasing as the parts are more complex, but the small-scale enterprises can’t afford to invest for the infra individually. CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) service was naturally born based on these needs. This paper presents the engineering collaboration model between the large and the small/medium enterprises in the field of injection molds. Based on the engineering collaboration hub and CAE service, small-scale enterprises could research the necessary technology and develop the proper products. The analysis results of CAE are provided by the integrated visualization system on the web. This paper also deals with the delivery shorting process of CAE service for electric/electronic parts which should meet the needs of customers as soon as possible.

Die & mold design has been carried out by nonprofessional designer in die & mold field or subcontract companies although the product design has been performed by designer in Tier-0 companies. This causes numerous corrections of die & mold for one product. Since these corrections were also depended on the individual experience of designers or experts, the number of corrections could not decrease. Collaboration in dies & mold industries by using e-Manufacturing is focused on not only collaboration of manufacturing process for specified product but also the construction of collaborative model in inter- or intra-relation of enterprises. In order to conduct this collaboration, co-ownership of drawings, distribution of technical information and management of file history become essential infra-structures and co-ownership of technical engineering information or consulting using pool of professional engineers, which cannot be possessed in individual companies, becomes core elements in inter- or intra-related enterprises collaboration system. Engineering services are supporting systems of techniques or equipment for enterprises which do not have professional engineers or equipment. They consist of essential process in each manufacturing stage such as structural CAE for the evaluation of structural troubles in product design stage, injection molding CAE for the design of injection mold in die & mold design stage, Rapid Tooling or Rapid Prototyping for quick manufacturing in prototype manufacturing stage, measurement of prototypes and so on. In this work, engineering services for die & mold industry were conducted in order to activate collaboration in inter- or intra-relation of enterprises and the expended system of engineering information was also modeled using management of extracted outputs.
프로젝트형 SCM의 개념적 틀에 관한 탐색적 연구 : 플랜트 엔지니어링 기업을 중심으로

The objective of this paper is to investigate the issues related to the supply chain management in plant engineering industry, and propose the framework to improve the project efficiency. The preliminary case study shows that EPC’s fragmented nature, lack of coordination and information sharing, and lack of proper risk and change management contribute to project delay and cost overrun. To examine the level of informatization and information sharing in supply chain, survey responses from the suppliers and subcontractors have been collected. The statistical results show that information sharing, early involvement in design process and awareness in SCM have influenced the level of collaboration, but supplier assessment and informatization have no impact on the collaboration. A conceptual model is proposed in order to facilitate the integration of design, procurement and construction functions. Implications from the study are also provided. 본 연구는 플랜트 엔지니어링 산업에 속하는 대기업들의 공급망관리 도입과 운영에 대한 문제점을 살펴보고 이를 개선하기 위한 기본틀을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 관련 자료의 축적을 위한 사례연구결과, EPC 형태의 사업운영과 더불어 프로젝트 관련 결정의 조정능력 및 정보공유 부족, 적절한 위험 및 변화시스템의 부재 등은 납기지연 및 예산 초과로 이어진다는 것도 알 수 있게 되었다. 공급망의 정보화는 경쟁력 제고와 직결되므로, EPC 프로젝트 공급망의 협업관련 정보화와 정보공유 수준을 살펴보기 위해 공급망을 구성하는 협력업체에게 설문조사를 실시하였다. 통계적 분석결과, 정보공유, 디자인과 설계활동의 조기참여 및 SCM에 대한 인식은 공급망 상의 협업에 긍정적 영향을 미치나 협력업체의 정보화나 평가는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이외에도 설계 및 엔지니어링, 조달, 시공의 여러 부문을 통합하는데 기여할 수 있는 프로젝트 공급망관리 모형을 제안했으며 이를 통해 몇 가지 실무적 시사점도 기술하였다.

Innovative improvement of the design process and environment has been raised in accordance with the increasing needs from the customers and the reduction of the product life cycle. For the efficient conceptual/basic design and safety assessment of the piping system of the engineering plant, it is necessary to implement the concept of standards and collaboration throughout the front end design process. In this paper, we propose the design process which is based on the ISO-15926 international standard. We introduce the basic concepts and the use of the standard in the piping system design and safety assessment. A simple illustrative piping system is modeled and analysed as an example to show the proposed procedure.

Quality improvement and product development time shortening can be achieved by prevention steps of the various problem happening in the manufacturing stage. One of the most important prevention steps is the simulation of the capability of production and assembly by using 3D CAD Models, that is, Digital Mockup. This study aims to develop the web-based digital mockup environment which supports the collaboration between the small and medium sized enterprises of automotive industrial. The developed system can be applied in the case when the mockup simulation between different CAD systems is needed.
