Zafar Abbas,A. N. Shah,M. Tahir Hassan,M. Sarfraz Ali,Qamar ud Din,Bilal Naseem,Ammar Asghar,Ali Haider 대한기계학회 2020 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.34 No.11
Shifting of air conditioning and ventilation plants from conventional to renewable energy systems is one of the effective ways to save energy and attain sustainability. In this experimental study, an effort has been made to design, fabricate, and evaluate the cooling performance of a solar-powered domestic air cooler with Peltier plates to meet the comfort criteria as per ASHRAE standards. It also investigates the effect of Peltier modules on the performance of conventional room air cooler. The experiments were conducted in a 12x12 room with one, two, three, and four Peltier modules operating at various ambient temperatures. The experiments were repeated three times at specified conditions. Peltier effect was used to decrease water temperature, and subsequently cooled water was used to decrease the temperature of the air after coming in contact with this water. The cooled air was then used to create a comfort zone. The results indicated a decrease in temperature of the experimental zone by 5 %, 13 %, 19 %, and 23 % using one, two, three, and four Peltier modules respectively. The increase in relative humidity was recorded as 5 % at 27 °C temperature of the experimental zone. The results of energy analysis showed a substantial amount of energy savings in this study and suggest that more than 200 MW energy can be saved by replacing conventional electric air coolers all over the country with proposed Peltier based domestic solar powered air cooler.

Piperidine derivatives are known to exhibit analgesic activities and are likely to possess the ability to block the effects of prostaglandins through inhibition of downstream signaling pathways. The present study investigated the activity of five derivatives (PD2-6) of 4-(4'-bromophenyl)-4-piperidinol (PD1), against pain and platelet aggregation mediated by the release of prostaglandins and thromboxane A2, respectively. The results showed that compound PD1and its two phenacyl derivatives PD3 and PD5 exhibited a highly significant analgesic effect (p < 0.01), whereas PD4 and PD6 also showed significant activity. PD3, the most active analgesic compound when docked to the opioid receptor, had interactions between the oxygen of its nitro group and the amino group of ARG 573, indicating a distance of 1.2563 Å. The antiplatelet data showed that compound PD5 (4-(4'-bromo-phenyl)-4-hydroxy-1-[2-(2'',4''-dimethoxyphenyl)-2-oxo-ethyl]-piperidinium bromide) had an IC50 = 0.06 mM, which was the most active compound, whereas PD3 was the second most active compound against platelet aggregating factor-induced aggregation with an IC50 = 80 mM. Acetyl salicylic acid (IC50 = 150 μM) was used as a positive control.

For the future prosperity of any society, the sound growth of children is essential. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurobehavioral disorder which has an impact on social interaction of autistic child and has an undesirable effect on his learning, speaking, and responding skills. These children have over or under sensitivity issues of touching, smelling, and hearing. Its symptoms usually appear in the child of 4- to 11-year-old but parents did not pay attention to it and could not detect it at early stages. The process to diagnose in recent time is clinical sessions that are very time consuming and expensive. To complement the conventional method, machine learning techniques are being used. In this way, it improves the required time and precision for diagnosis. We have applied TFLite model on image based dataset to predict the autism based on facial features of child. Afterwards, various machine learning techniques were trained that includes Logistic Regression, KNN, Gaussian Naïve Bayes, Random Forest and Multi-Layer Perceptron using Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ) dataset to improve the accuracy of the ASD detection. On image based dataset, TFLite model shows 80% accuracy and based on AQ dataset, we have achieved 100% accuracy from Logistic Regression and MLP models.

In this study, the analysis is carried out to optimize in-gate position and size of riser for casting mold. The baseline size of riser for the casting of boat propeller is based on geometric modulus and thermal analysis. The riser size is analyzed with thermal-volumetric numerical calculations to predict critical fraction solid (CFS) time and temperature gradient in casting. Simulation predictions are compared with inspection results of actual castings and found good qualitative agreement. The riser reached CFS temperature well before the castings’ cross-sectional transition regions. In feeding the molten metal, the in-gate is placed where the section modulus of casting is higher. However, the tongue of sand at in-gate increases the local cooling rate, resulting in early solidification and blockage of feeding path. The increase in riser size and in-gate position results in elimination of shrinkage cavities. An optical microscopy of the casting critical region is carried out to investigate the effect of numerical measures on internal closed microporosity and microstructure morphology.

A great variable response was observed when PP-3 and PP-J encumbered with 116 populations of root knot nematode (RKN) at two different temperatures (25 ± 2°C and 30 ± 2°C) and concentrations (104 and 105 spores/ml). The PCR reaction amplified intergenic region between cytochrome oxidase subunit II gene (COII) and large subunit of rRNA gene (lrRNA) of the mitochondrial genome of different RKN species. The primer C2F3 and 1108 identified M. incognita with the highest frequency (52.6%) followed by M. javanica (36.8%) and M. arenaria (10.5%). The sizes of PCR products were 1.7 kb for M. incognita and M. javanica populations while populations of M. arenaria produced 1.1 kb fragment. The digestion with Hinf I yielded three different fragment length patterns on 1.5 % agarose gel. From current research it is concluded that intra-Meloidogyne genetic variability exist in RKN populations which have better encumbrance with P. penetrans.

Two new sesquiterpenes, 3`-chloro-2`-hydroxy-3-epi-arguticinin (1) and argutenol (2) belonging to eudesmane and gorgonane classes respectively, have been isolated from Pluchea arguta. Their structures were elucidated with the help of sophisticated spectroscopic techniques including nOe difference and NOESY experiments.
