To identify the superconducting symmetry of Fe-based superconductors, we studied effects ofnonmagnetic-impurities on Tc, magnetic excitation spectra 00 and NMR 1/T1 − T curve, whichare sensitive to the relative signs between the order parameters on the disconnected Fermi surfacesin reciprocal space, because the symmetry is closely connected with the pairing mechanism:If the signs are opposite (symmetry S±), the mechanism is considered to be a magneticone, but when the signs are the same (symmetry S++), a novel mechanism is plausible becausethe ordinary phonon mechanism cannot realize the Tc value as high as 55 K found in Ln1111(Ln=lanthanide). Results are as follows: (a) The very small rates of Tc-suppression by impurityatoms M of LnFe1−yMyAs0.89−xF0.11+x (M=Ni, Co, Ru) can be explained only by S++. (b) The00-data for Ba(Fe, Co)2As2 (Tc 23 K) and Ca-Fe-Pt-As crystals seem to be well explained byS++ rather than by S±. (c) The nuclear magnetic resonance data can be consistently understoodby S++, too. These results suggest the S++ symmetry and a novel pairing mechanism, which canbe considered to be related to the elastic softening of C66 induced by the orbital fluctuation of thesystem.

Barium titanate ($BaTiO_3$) nanoparticle is one of the most promising materials for future multi-layer ceramic capacitor and ferroelectric random access memory. It is well known that electrical property of nanoparticles depends on the atomistic structure. Although surface may possibly have an impact on the atomistic structure, reconstructed structure at the surface has not been widely investigated. In the present study, Ba-ion position near surface in a $BaTiO_3$ nanoparticle has been quantitatively characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy. It was found that some Ba ions at the surface were greatly displaced in non-uniform directions.

Two experiments were conducted to investigate the impact of high temperature and dietary tryptophan (Trp) on performance, selected organ weights and plasma free amino acid (AA) concentrations in broiler chickens. In Experiment 1, exposure to $27-33^{\circ}C$ of chickens for 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age did not affect growth and plasma free AA concentration except for a decrease in the concentration of plasma tyrosine (Tyr). In Experiment 2, 2-week-old birds were allocated to one of three temperature treatments; $24^{\circ}C$ (control), $36^{\circ}C$ (heat stress, HS) and $24^{\circ}C$ pair-fed (24PF) for 2 weeks and fed on diets containing 50, 100 and 300% of NRC requirement for Trp. Heat stress caused a reduction of weight gain and feed intake irrespective of dietary Trp levels compared with control counterparts, while feeding of 300% Trp diet did not attenuate the reduced performance by HS exposure. In groups fed the 100% Trp diets, plasma aromatic AA (AAA) and Tyr concentrations were decreased in the HS birds compared with the 24PF group. Plasma concentrations in most of AA groups were increased by HS in chickens fed the 50% Trp diet, while those were not changed by HS in chickens fed the 300% Trp diet, compared with 24PF counterparts. The plasma Trp/LNAA (LNAA=large neutral AAs, which are comprised of BCAA, AAA and Trp) ratio was increased by HS in chickens fed the 100% Trp diet, while it was decreased in chickens fed on 50% Trp diet as compared with 24PF group. From these results, it is suggested that performance and plasma amino acid profile deranged by heat stress are modulated, at least, to be relieved from the heat stress by feeding 50% Trp diet but not at all by feeding 300% Trp diet. The involvement of altered plasma AA profiles, in particular plasma Tyr concentrations and Trp/LNAA ratio, is discussed in association with the performance characteristics of HS chickens.
Effects of Compost Tea Making from Differently Treated Compost on Plant Disease Control
Tateda, Masafumi,Yoneda, Daisuke,Sato, Yukio Korean Wetlands Society 2007 한국습지학회지 Vol.9 No.1
Antifungal activity of compost teas was evaluated in vitro and in vivo experiments. In vitro test, fourteen compost teas were produced using five different composts and through six different methods for compost tea production. Eleven pathogenic fungi were used as indicators of antifungal activity of compost teas. In vivo test, one of the compost teas used in vitro test was sprayed to cucumber leaves which were infected with powdery mildew in order to evaluate antifungal activity of compost tea. From the results of the tests, it was found that all compost teas used this study showed antifungal activity and the proper application of compost teas against pathogenic fungi for obtaining optimal effects was important to know.

Development of a walking assist machine using crutches (Composition and basic experiments)
Masaru HIGUCHI,Makoto OGATA,Shuta SATO,Yukio TAKEDA 대한기계학회 2010 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.24 No.1
This paper proposes a walking assist machine for people with walking difficulties. It has crutches operated by the user and a wearable mechanism generates motion of the leg and foot relative to the upper body. First, a healthy person’s swing-through walking using axillary crutches was measured and kinematically analyzed. Based on the results, a composition of a walking assist machine using crutches (WAMC) was proposed. An Experimental apparatus of WAMC was designed and built. It realized walking with desired constant step length. And it was clarified that error of the step length decreases its walking stability. Then we investigated the relationship between walking stability and parameters of walking motion by dynamic simulations. The desired parameters were determined through the simulations Sensors and switches which convey user’s intentions to WAMC were also designed and attached to the WAMC.
