The complete mitochondrial genome of a threatened loach (Sinibotia reevesae) and its phylogeny

        Yuan‑Chao Zou,Bi‑Wen Xie,Chuan‑Jie Qin,Yong‑Ming Wang,Deng‑Yue Yuan,Rui Li,Zheng‑Yong Wen 한국유전학회 2017 Genes & Genomics Vol.39 No.7

In present study, the complete mitochondrial genome of Sinibotia reevesae was first sequenced using the next-generation sequencing technology and annotated using bioinformatic tools. The circular mitochondrial genome was 16,572 bp in length, and contained 13 proteincoding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, and 1 displacement loop locus. It presents a typical gene organization and order for completely sequenced cypriniformes mitogenomes. The control region could be divided into three parts included the extended termination associated sequence domain, the central conserved domain and the conserved sequence block. Interestingly, two stemloop domains were found in control region and OL region, respectively. Furthermore, phylogenetic analyses using concatenated amino acid and nucleotide sequences of the 13 protein-coding genes with two different methods (Maximum likelihood and Bayesian analysis) both highly supported the close relationship of S. reevesae and Sinibotia superciliaris, which was in line with the previous classifications based on morphological and molecular studies. These data provide useful information for a better understanding of the mitogenomic diversities and evolution in fish as well as novel genetic markers for studying population genetics and species identification.

Traffic Flow Assignment Model with Modified Impedance Function

        Yuan-Yang Zou,Xue-Guo Xu,Yu Hu,Gui-Hua Lin 대한토목학회 2018 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.22 No.10

In this paper, we study a mixed-mode traffic network, in which Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Gasoline Vehicles (GVs) can be driven freely. We propose a new piecewise impedance function and, based on this new impedance function, we present a convex but nonsmooth optimization model for the traffic network. In order to deal with the nonsmoothness, we introduce a binary variable. Furthermore, we report some numerical examples to show the efficiency of the model. %is effective and robust. In particular, our numerical results illustrate that, if the distance limit of BEVs is long enough and the unit operating cost of BEVs is lower than GVs, more travelers prefer to choosing BEVs.

      • EphB1 and Ephrin-B, New Potential Biomarkers for Squamous Cell/adenosquamous Carcinomas and Adenocarcinomas of the Gallbladder

        Yuan, Yuan,Yang, Zhu-Lin,Miao, Xiong-Ying,Liu, Zi-Ru,Li, Dai-Qiang,Zou, Qiong,Li, Jing-He,Liang, Lu-Feng,Zeng, Gui-Xiang,Chen, Sen-Lin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.3

Squamous cell/adenosquamous carcinoma (SC/ASC) of the gallbladder are rare tumors and there are few clinical reports in the literature. Herein we report our clinical experience with 46 patients with SC/ASC and 80 with adenocarcinoma (AC). Expression of EphB1 and Ephrin-B in each tumor was determined using immunohistochemical methods for determination of correlations with prognosis. There was no difference in EphB1 and Ephrin-B expression between SC/ASC and AC tumors (P>0.05), but greater expression in those less than 3 cm in diameter, stage I or II (TNM stage), with no lymph node metastases, with no local invasion and treated with radical resection was apparent. Expression of EphB1 (P<0.05) and Ephrin-B (P<0.01) was higher in well differentiated than in poorly differentiated AC tumors. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis indicated that degree of differentiation, tumor diameter, lymph node metastases, local invasion, surgical approach and expression rate of EphB1 and Ephrin-B were closely related to the survival of SC/ASC (P<0.05) and AC patients (P<0.01). Patients with tumors that positive expressed EphB1 and Ephrin-B, whether it is SC/ASC ($P_{SC/ASC}$ =0.000) or AC ($P_{AC}$ =0.000 or $P_{AC}$ =0.002) had longer survival than those negative expression. Cox multivariate analysis indicated a negative correlation between expression of EphB1 or Ephrin-B and overall survival. Hence, EphB1 and Ephrin-B could be regarded as independent good prognostic factorsand important biological markers for SC/ASC and AC of gallbladder.

        詩之 "體" 與 詩之 "用": 船山詩學的兩個向度及其中介

Yuan Jiang Zou 퇴계학부산연구원 2010 退溪學論叢 Vol.16 No.-

The first dimension in Chuan-shan poetics is "value"of poetry in orthodox Confucian poetics which is consistent with his philosophy tendency, which includes "emperor manners", "morals and manners", "poetic education", "ethical education" etc, this is identical in point with Confucian poetics. The second dimension in Chuan-shan poetics is"body"of poetry which is related to his aesthetic interest, which is the comprehension of the imagery formation characteristics in poetry. It gives the interpretation that poetry, what lives in the nether or bright occasion(You-ming) in "study of Heaven's mandate" of the book "Shi Guang Zhuan", which explored some dimensions in the "body" of poetry. So its conspicuous that Chuan-shan poetics has its own problems: that while it lay too much stress on objective poetic education, it will easy to make departure of "value" and tend toward "body" in poetry; in contrast, while it make clear the imagery aesthetic features in non-objective world, it will be hard to reach the "value" of objective poetic education. But when it goes to"Xin Zhi Guang"at the meaning of "Xin Sheng Yu Yu Li", the perspective view will surpass the bounds of politics, morals, ethics, turned to be a indecisive boundaries intermediary perspective view in the "value" of poetry which has significant value to reach the "body" of poetry in the perspective of aesthetics.

        论莫言文学创作的“民间观”

        鄒志遠(Zou, Zhi Yuan),王逸竹(Wang Yi Zhu) 한국중어중문학회 2017 中語中文學 Vol.0 No.69

Since the publication of Mo Yan’s “Red Sorghum”,the academic circles have paid much attention to the folk standpoint and the creation of “folk world” in the literature of Mo Yan. In this of “folk criticism” means, the critics advertised the “folk character” of the Mo Yan’s literature and advocated the writer’s “folk” culture values and folk view. The generalization of this kind of “folk criticism” means that there is a lack of rational attenation and excavation to the “real folk” written by the author. As the same time, it also produces a false judgment on the relationship between interllectuals and the folk. The article attempts from the writer’s “folk position”,“folk language” and “folk world” three accepts to clarify the basic relationship between Mo Yan and “folk”,enshrined in the creation of Mo Yan’s “folk”.

Theoretical Solutions for a Circular Opening in an Elastic–brittle–plastic Rock Mass Incorporating the Out-of-plane Stress and Seepage Force

        Zou Jin-feng,Li Shuai-shuai,Xu Yuan,Dan Han-cheng,Zhao Lian-heng 대한토목학회 2016 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.20 No.2

Seepage force is simplified as seepage volumetric force in the stress field along the radial direction. Out-of-plane stress and seepage force are incorporated, and the theoretical solutions for stress, displacement, and plastic radius of a circular opening for the elastic-brittle-plastic and elastic-plastic rock mass are proposed based on the Mohr–Coulomb (MC) and generalized Hoek-Brown (HB) failure criteria. The presented solution and Wang’s solution (2012) are compared, and the corrected version of the proposed method is validated. Numerical examples of the proposed method based on the MC and generalized HB failure criteria reveal that the distributions of stress and displacement in the surrounding rock of the tunnel are significantly influenced by seepage force and out-ofplane stress. Displacement and plastic radius when seepage force and out-of-plane stress are considered are larger than those when the seepage force is not considered; the regulations of stress, however, run opposite. The results of displacement and plastic radius based on the generalized HB failure criterion are larger than those based on the MC failure criterion.

Molecular Cloning, Segmental Distribution and Ontogenetic Regulation of Cationic Amino Acid Transporter 2 in Pigs

        Zou, Shi-geng,Zhi, Ai-min,Zhou, Xiang-yan,Zuo, Jian-jun,Zhang, Yan,Huang, Zhi-yi,Xu, Ping-Wen,Feng, Ding-yuan Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2009 Animal Bioscience Vol.22 No.5

The goal of this study was to elucidate the expression and segmental distribution of the glomerular cationic amino acid metabolism transporter-2 (CAT-2) and thus to improve our understanding of porcine cationic amino acid transporters and amino acid absorption. Porcine CAT-2 was cloned, sequenced and characterized. The predicted amino acid sequence of porcine CAT-2 shared 86.1% and 92.1% identity with human and mouse CAT-2A, respectively. The tissue distribution patterns and ontogenic changes of CAT-2 mRNAs were determined by real-time Q-PCR. The results showed that porcine CAT-2 was highly expressed in the heart and intestinal tract (duodenum, ileum and jejunum). In addition, the mRNA of CAT-2 was found in liver, lung, kidney, brain and muscle. Within the intestinal tract, CAT-2 mRNA was most abundant in the ileum and rarely expressed in the duodenum. In the duodenum, the levels of CAT-2 mRNA reached their peak on day 7 (p<0.05) while in the jejunum, levels were low on day 1 and 7 and increased rapidly after day 26 before peaking on days 30 and 60 (p<0.05). The levels then dramatically decreased by day 90 (p<0.05). In the ileum, levels achieved their maximum on day 30 and then decreased significantly on day 60 (p<0.05).

Pyrethroid susceptibility status and functional analysis of cytochrome P450 CYP6 subfamily genes in field Aedes albopictus, in Jiangsu, China

        Zou Feifei,Guo Qin,Shen Bo,Lv Yuan 한국응용곤충학회 2024 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.27 No.1

Aedes albopictus with a worldwide distribution, has been a vector for more than 20 arboviruses such as dengue, chikugunya, Zika and West Nile, but insecticide resistance in A. albopictus has become more and more serious, as a result of improper application of pyrethroid insecticides for mosquito control. The P450 gene cluster is known to be involved in metabolic mechanisms of pyrethroid resistance in other mosquito species. However, little is known about metabolic resistance in field A. albopictus in China. In this study, we collected five different field strains and first revealed the larval and adult resistance status of A. albopictus to deltamethrin in Jiangsu province of China. A combination of comparative genomics and P450 gene cluster analysis was conducted to investigate the underlying CYP6-mediated metabolic resistance mechanisms against deltamethrin in these field mosquitoes. The significance of three CYP6 genes, AALF024122, AALF024124 and AALF018944 in deltamethrin resistance was identified in our study. Furthermore, RNA interference-mediated silencing of three genes all increased the sensitivity of mosquitoes to deltamethrin in vivo, showing that these genes may be viable biomarkers for pyre throid resistance management in field A. albopictus.

      • Melatonin inhibits the Migration of Colon Cancer RKO cells by Down-regulating Myosin Light Chain Kinase Expression through Cross-talk with p38 MAPK

        Zou, Duo-Bing,Wei, Xiao,Hu, Ruo-Lei,Yang, Xiao-Ping,Zuo, Li,Zhang, Su-Mei,Zhu, Hua-Qing,Zhou, Qing,Gui, Shu-Yu,Wang, Yuan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.14

Background: Melatonin, which is mainly produced by the pineal gland, has a good inhibitory effect on cell growth of multiple cancer types. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of anti-tumor activity for colon cancer have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we investigated the effects of melatonin on migration in human colon cancer RKO cells and the potential molecular mechanisms. Materials and Methods: The viability of RKO cells was investigated by MTT assay after treatment with melatonin, SB203580 (p38 inhibitor) and phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA, MAPK activator) alone or in combination for 48h. The effects of melatonin, and ML-7, a selective inhibitor of myosin light chain kinase (MLCK), and SB203580, and PMA on the migration of RKO cells were analyzed by in vitro scratch-wound assay. The relative mRNA levels of MLCK was assessed by real-time quantitative RT-PCR. Western blotting analysis was performed to examine the expression of MLCK, phosphorylation of myosin light chain (pMLC) and p38 (pp38). Results: The proliferation and migration of human colon cancer RKO cells were inhibited significantly after treatment with melatonin. The expression levels of MLCK and phosphorylation of MLC of RKO cells were reduced, and real-time quantitative RT-PCR showed that melatonin had significant effects on suppressing the expression of MLCK. Furthermore, the phosphorylation level of p38, which showed the same trend, was also reduced when cells were treated by melatonin. In addition, ML-7 (25umol/l) could down-regulate the phosphorylation of p38. Conclusions: Melatonin could inhibit the proliferation and migration of RKO cells, and further experiments confirmed that p38 MAPK plays an important role in regulating melatonin-induced migration inhibition through down-regulating the expression and activity of MLCK.

      • Analysis of the toroidal HVDC grounding systems in horizontal multilayer soils

        Zou, J.,Liu, Y.Q.,Yuan, J.S.,He, J.L.,Cao, L.,Lee, J.,Chang, S. IEEE 2006 IEEE transactions on magnetics Vol.42 No.4

<P>A Fredholm integral equation of the first kind has been developed for analyzing the performance of the toroidal high-voltage direct current (HVDC) grounding system buried in the horizontal multilayer soil. The method of moment is used to solve the equations. The formulation of potential in the earth due to a circular current is proposed in closed form by means of conception of the complex resistivity and depth, which leads to the saving of the computational time greatly. The numerical results show the good agreements with those in other papers and the measured data</P>
