Experimental studies for an indirect R404A-CO₂ refrigeration system and a direct R404A refrigeration system were conducted. The configurations of the indirect R404A-CO₂ refrigeration system are a R404A refrigeration system as a top cycle and a circulating CO₂ system as a bottom cycle. The direct R404A system was modified from indirect R404A-CO₂ refrigeration system by removing circuit for CO₂ circulation. Various tests for both systems were conducted by changing load side brine temperature from 0 to 5 and 10℃ with cooling brine temperatures for R404A system at 15, 20, or 25℃. The indirect R404A-CO₂ refrigeration system showed the highest COP when load side brine temperature was at 10℃ in the evaporator and at cooling brine temperature of 15℃. The COP of 3.04 under that condition was the highest. This indirect R404A-CO₂ refrigeration system showed 9.02% higher COP than the direct R404A system that had increased pipeline length of 15 m, which simulated actual installation in a supermarket.

본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC에서 구문 요소의 저장 공간을 줄인 효율적인 CABAC 부호화기를 제안하였다. 제안하는 구조는 모든 블록을 하드웨어 기반으로 설계하여 프로세서에 의존하지 않고 빠른 처리가 가능하다. 또한 CABAC 부호화기의 문맥 모델러에서는 문맥 모델을 유도하기 위해 이웃 블록의 데이터가 필요한데 이웃 블록 데이터를 가공하지 않은 상태로 전부 저장하게 된다면 메모리 용량이 비효율적으로 커지게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이웃 블록 데이터를 효율적으로 저장하여 메모리 크기를 감소시키는 방법을 사용한다. 제안하는 CABAC 부호화기는 0.18㎛ 표준 셀 라이브러리를 이용하여 합성한 결과 35,463 게이트의 면적을 사용하였으며, 최대 180㎒까지 동작이 가능하고 입력 심벌 당 소요되는 사이클 수는 약 1에 가깝다. This paper proposes an efficient CABAC encoder to reduce syntax element storage in H.264/AVC entropy coding. In the proposed architecture, all blocks are designed in dedicated hardware, so it performs fast processing without programmable processors. Context modeler of CABAC encoder requires the neighbor block data. However it requires impractically huge memory size if the neighbor block data is directly stored without proper processing. Therefore, this paper proposes an effective method of storing the neighbor block data to decrease memory size. The proposed CABAC encoder has 35,463 gates in 0.18㎛ standard cell library. It operates at maximum speed of 180㎒ and its throughput is about 1 cycle per input symbol.

Performance of freezing and refrigeration systems in supermarket, which utilized CO₂ as a refrigerant, was investigated by using the Pack Calculation Ⅱ. The configuration of simulated systems was basic parallel refrigeration system, cascade system, and two-stage system. The CO₂ cascade system showed higher COP than basic parallel R404A system by 13% for MT and 62% for LT, respectively. Among the CO₂ cascade systems, R717(MT)-CO2(LT) showed the highest performance. Open-type intercooler method showed higher performance than liquid injection for the two-stage CO₂ systems.
