      • Pyrantel Pamoate(Combantrin)에 依한 蛔蟲症의 減量療法

        The mass treatment trial with low dosage of pyrantel pamoate against Ascaris lumbricoides infection was conducted to school children in rural areas of Korea. A comparative trial in the use of piperazine salt, santonin-kainic acid complex in the treatment of ascariasis was also attempted to evaluate the efficacy of' pyrantel pamoate. A total of 804 Ascaris infected school children selected out of 822-positives, who were screened from the total 1, 699 collected specimens, were classified into 7 groups. One of the three kinds of anthelmintics, i.e., pyrantel pamoate, piperazine adipate and santonin-kainic acid complex was administered to each group according to the planned regimen. For the evaluation, the egg negative conversion rate(cure rate) and egg reduction rate were calculated 4 weeks after treatment on 623 follow-up cases with the obtained results from the stool examinations (Cellophane Thick Smear Method and Stoll's Egg Counting Technique). The results obtained were; 1. The egg negative conversion rate was the highest in pyrantel treated groups (Group 1, 2, 3), santonin-kainic acid complex treated group (Group 7) coming next, and the lowest in piperazine treated groups (Group 4, 5, 6). 2. The reduction rates were also obtained just as the same order of the above results. 3. Among the pyrantel pamoate treated groups, the low dosage groups (Group 2 8: 3) showed 90.6% and 85.7% of negative conversion rate, and 99. 2% and 98. 2% of reduction rate respectively, while 94.1% of negative conversion rate and 97.9% of reduction rate were obtained in the conventional dosage group (Group 1). 4. On the analysis of efficacy in the groups treated with piperazine adipate, the best results were. shown in 2 or 3 consecutively treated groups (Group 4 &.- 6) under the supervision of qualified doctors, and the worst was in the group treated with 2 consecutive administration by teachers without supervision (Group 5). 5. The side reactions were so negligible in all the trial groups that none of the treated cases complained about the known side effect of those anthelmintics. From the present study, it can be suggested that the pyrantel pamoate is the most effective among three drugs, and also be recommended to apply the low dosage schedule of pyrantel pamoate in the masstreatment of ascariasis to reduce the expense of masstreatment.

      • Emotion Recognition from Text Using Knowledge-based ANN

        This paper proposes an emotion recognition system. Human emotion can be expressed through many kinds of medium such as speech, image, facial expression, and so forth. This paper focuses on the textual data of them. Proposed system is a hybrid system that uses alternatively two methods, keyword-based and machine learning method. Keyword-based methods are traditional approaches using emotional keywords to make a decision of emotional state. They are very correct if emotional keywords exist within text segment. However, there is nothing to do if keywords to be able to catch emotional state do not exist. Therefore, in the case of no emotional keywords, our proposed method uses KBANN to able to infer emotional state through implicit knowledge constructed with the third-party information. Finally, through experiments, we show that the proposed system is more accurate than some previous approaches.

      • HMM 품사 태깅에서 신뢰성 척도와 규칙을 이용한 오류 수정

        Tagging system is significantly effected by corpus in statistical part-of-speech tagging. Since tagged corpus is made by many people together and their linguistic knowledge is different from each other, it is hard to guarantee coherency. Therefore, tagged corpus always has some errors. In this paper, we propose a measure to detect conditions to make error, and find potential tagging error by using the measure, and correct the potential tagging error by predefined rule. Experimental results showed that the precision of tagging system using our method is improved more than the precision of pure HMM tagging system.

      • 말뭉치 오류를 고려한 HMM 한국어 품사 태깅 시스템

        통계 기반 접근 방법을 이용한 품사태깅에서 태깅 정확도는 훈련 데이터의 양에 좌우될 뿐 아니라, 말뭉치가 충분할지라도 수작업으로 구축한 말뭉치의 경우 항상 오류의 가능성을 내포하고 있으며 언어의 특성상 통계적으로 신뢰할만한 데이터의 수집에도 어려움이 따른다. 훈련 데이터로 사용되는 말뭉치는 많은 사람들이 수작업으로 구축하므로 작업자 중 일부가 언어에 대한 지식이 부족하다거나 주관적인 판단에 의한 태깅 실수를 포함할 수도 있기 때문에 단순한 저빈도와 관련된 잡음 외의 오류들이 포함될 수 있는데 이러한 오류들은 재추정이나 평탄화 기법으로 해결될 수 있는 문제가 아니다. 본 논문에서는 HMM(Hidden Markov Model)을 이용한 한국어 품사 태깅에서 재추정 후 여전히 존재하는 말뭉치의 잡음에 인한 태깅 오류 해결을 위해 비터비 알고리즘 적용 단계에서 데이터 부족과 말뭉치의 오류로 인해 문제가 되는 부분을 찾아내고 규칙을 통해 수정을 하여 태깅 결과를 개선하는 방안을 제안한다. 실험결과는 오류가 존재하는 말뭉치를 사용해 구현된 HMM과 비터비 알고리즘을 적용한 태깅 정확도에 비해 오류를 수정하는 과정을 거친 후 정확도가 향상됨을 보여준다.

      • Predicate Logic Form을 이용한 자연어 텍스트로부터의 감정인식

        전통적으로 자연어 텍스트로부터의 감정인식 연구는 감정 키워드에 기반한다. 그러나 감정 키워드만을 이용하면 자연어 문장이 원래 갖고 있는 통사정보나 의미정보는 잃어버리게 된다. 이를 극복하기 위해 본 논문에서는 자연어 텍스트를 Predicate Logic 형태로 변환하여 감정 정보처리의 기반데이터로 사용한다. Predicate Logic형태로 변환하기 위해서 의존 문법 구문분석기를 사용하였다. 이렇게 생성된 Predicate 데이터 중 감정 정보를 갖고 있는 Predicate만을 찾아내는데 이를 위해 Emotional Predicate Dictionary를 구축하였고 이 사전에는 하나의 Predicate마다 미리 정의된 개념 클래스로 사상 시킬 수 있는 정보를 갖고 있다. 개념 클래스는 감정정보를 갖고 있는지, 어떤 감정인지, 어떤 상황에서 발생하는 감정인지에 대한 정보를 나타낸다. 자연어 텍스트가 Predicate으로 변환되고 다시 개념 클래스로 사상되고 나면 KBANN으로 구현된 Lazarus의 감정 생성 규칙에 적용시켜 최종적으로 인식된 감정을 판단한다. 실험을 통해 구현된 시스템이 인간이 인식한 감정과 약 70%이상 유사한 인식 결과를 나타냄을 보인다.

        MYLK polymorphism associated with blood eosinophil level among asthmatic patients in a Korean population

        <P>The myosin light chain kinase (MYLK) gene encodes both smooth muscle and nonmuscle cell isoforms. Recently, polymorphisms in MYLK have been reported to be associated with several diseases. To examine the genetic effects of polymorphisms on the risk of asthma and related phenotypes, we scrutinized MYLK by re-sequencing/genotyping and statistical analysis in Korean population (n = 1,015). Seventeen common polymorphisms located in or near exons, having pairwise r ( 2 ) values less than 0.25, were genotyped. Our statistical analysis did not replicate the associations with the risk of asthma and log-transformed total IgE levels observed among African descendant populations. However, two SNPs in intron 16 (+89872C > G and +92263T >C), which were in tight LD (|D'| = 0.99), revealed significant association with log-transformed blood eosinophil level even after correction multiple testing (P = 0.002/P( corr )= 0.01 and P = 0.002/P( corr ) = 0.01, respectively). The log-transformed blood eosinophil levels were higher in individuals bearing the minor alleles for +89872C > G and +92263T > C, than in those bearing other allele. In additional subgroup analysis, the genetic effects of both SNPs were much more apparent among asthmatic patients and atopic asthma patients. Among atopic asthma patients, the log-transformed blood eosinophil levels were proportionally increased by gene-dose dependent manner of in both +89872C > G and +92263T > C (P = 0.0002 and P = 0.00007, respectively). These findings suggest that MYLK polymorphisms might be among the genetic factors underlying differential increases of blood eosinophil levels among asthmatic patients. Further biological and/or functional studies are needed to confirm our results.</P>

      • Chitosan sponges as tissue engineering scaffolds for bone formation

        Rat calvarial osteoblasts were grown in porous chitosan sponges fabricated by freeze drying. The prepared chitosan sponges had a porous structure with a 100-200 ㎛ pore diameter, which allowed cell proliferation. Cell density, alkaline phosphatase activity and calcium deposition were monitored for up to 56 d culture. Cell numbers were 4×10^(6)(day 1), 11×10^(6)(day 28) and 12×10^(6)(day 56) per g sponge. Calcium depositions were 9 (day 1), 40 (day 28) and 48 (day 56) ㎍ per sponge. Histological results corroborated that bone formation within the sponges had occurred. These results show that chitotsan sponges can be used as effective scaffolding materials for tissue engineered bone formation in vitro.

        Prognostic Significance of HER2 Gene Amplification According to Stage of Breast Cancer

        It is well known that the amplification of the HER2 gene is closely associated with poor prognosis of breast cancer. However, there is controversy about the clinical significance of HER2 according to lymph node status in breast cancer. The aim of this study was to identify the differences in the prognostic significance of HER2 gene amplification according to the stages of breast cancer. We prepared a tissue array for fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) with breast cancer specimens from the surgery in 1994 to 1999. Total 338 cases of breast cancer were enrolled and the median follow-up period was 6.3 yr. The detection rates of HER2 gene amplification were as follows: 10.3% in stage I, 22.3% in stage II, and 43.8% in stage III. On survival analyses HER2-positive groups showed worse prognosis in stage III of breast cancer, but not in stage I or II. Multivariate analyses with a Cox-regression model also revealed that HER2 amplification was an independent prognostic factor only in stage III breast cancer. Regarding HER2 gene amplification as a prognostic factor of breast cancer, the clinical significance of the gene was found to be confined to advanced breast cancer.
