Degradation Kinetics of Water-Insoluble Lauroyl-Indapamide in Aqueous Solutions: Prediction of the Stabilities of the Drug in Liposomes

        Deng, Ying-Jie,Zhang, Han,Wang, Qiang,Suo, Xu-Bin 대한약학회 2007 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.30 No.7

The aim of this study was to explore the degradation kinetics of water-insoluble lauroyl-indapamide in solutions and predict the stabilities of lauroyl-indapamide encapsulated in liposomes. Buffer-acetone (9:1) was used as the reaction solution and the reaction temperature was maintained at $60^{\circ}C$. The correlation of the apparent degradation constants ($k_{obs}$) of lauroyl-indapamide in liposomes and in buffer-acetone solutions at different pH has been explored. The degradation of lauroyl-indapamide in solutions was found to follow pseudo-first-order kinetics and was significantly dependent on the pH values. Lauroyl-indapamide was the most stable at pH 6.8, increasing or decreasing the pH of the solutions would decrease its stabilities. Buffer concentration had some effects on the stabilities of lauroyl-indapamide. The degradation active energies Ea were $68.19\;kJ{\cdot}mol^{-1}$, $131.75\;kJ{\cdot}mol^{-1}$ and $107.72\;kJ{\cdot}mol^{-1}$ at pH3.6, 6.8 and 12 respectively in acetone-free buffer solutions (0.05M) calculated according to the Arrhenius equation with the extrapolation method. The apparent degradation constants ($k_{obs}$) of lauroyl-indapamide in liposome and in buffer-acetone (9:1) solutions showed a good correlation at different pH levels, which indicates that the stabilities of the drug that dissolved in acetone-buffer mixture solutions can be used to predict the stabilities of the drug in liposomes as well.

      • Functional RsaI/PstI Polymorphism in Cytochrome P450 2E1 Contributes to Bladder Cancer Susceptibility: Evidence from a Meta-analysis

        Deng, Xiao-Dong,Gao, Qin,Zhang, Bo,Zhang, Li-Xia,Zhang, Wei,Er, Zhe-Er Mu,Xie, Ying,Ma, Ying,Liu, Yun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.12

Background: Cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) might be involved in the development of bladder cancer. However, previous studies of any association between CYP2E1 RsaI/PstI polymorphism and bladder cancer risk have yielded conflicting results. In this study, we performed a more precise estimation of the relationship by a meta-analysis based on the currently available evidence from the literature. Method: To assess the effect of CYP2E1 RsaI/PstI polymorphism on bladder cancer susceptibility, a meta-analysis of 6 available studies with 1,510 cases and 1,560 controls were performed through Feb 2014. Summary odds ratios (ORs) and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to estimate the strength of association for CYP2E1 RsaI/PstI polymorphism under different genetic models. Results: When available studies were pooled into the meta-analysis, we found that the C1C2 and C2C2 genotypes of CYP2E1 RsaI/PstI polymorphism significantly decreased bladder cancer risk under different genetic models (heterozygote: OR=0.766, 95%CI=0.613-0.957, $P_{OR}$=0.019; homozygote: OR=0.51, 95%CI=0.303-0.858, $P_{OR}$=0.011; dominant: OR=0.733, 95%CI=0.593-0.905, $P_{OR}$=0.004; recessive: OR=0.565, 95%CI=0.337-0.947, $P_{OR}$=0.030). Subgroup analysis indicated that C2C2 genotype was significantly associated with decreased bladder cancer risk under the homozygote genetic model in Caucasians. There was no evidence of heterogeneity or publication bias. Conclusions: The current meta-analysis suggested that the CYP2E1 RsaI/PstI polymorphism might be associated with bladder cancer susceptibility, especially in Caucasians. Further studies are needed to validate the above conclusion.

      • Multi-level DVS Guidance and Output-feedback Path-following Control for Marine Surface Vehicles

        Ying-Jie Deng,Nam-kyun Im 한국항해항만학회 2018 한국항해항만학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2018 No.추계

This paper deals with the path-following control for marine surface vehicles with underactuated characteristics. In consideration of practical limitations of actuators, an improved DVS(dynamic virtual ship) guidance algorithm is proposed with the multi-level DVS optionally selected to be tracked. To address the output-feedback control issue, an adaptive FLS(fuzzy logical systems) is devised to online approximate the kinematic states. Based on that observing framework, the path-following control law is thereafter derived. Simulations testify effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

      • Clinical Observation and Therapeutic Evaluation of Rh-endostatin Combined with DP Regimen in Treating Patients with Advanced Esophageal Cancer

Deng, Wen-Ying,Song, Tao,Li, Ning,Luo, Su-Xia,Li, Xiang Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.16

Objective: To observe the curative effects of rh-endostatin combined with DP regimen in treating patients with advanced esophageal cancer and analyze the correlation of CT perfusion (CTP) parameters and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Methods: Twenty patients with esophageal cancer confirmed pathologically were randomly divided into combined treatment (rh-endostatin+DP regimen) group and single chemotherapy group, 10 patients in each group, respectively. All patients were given conventional CT examination and CTP imaging for primary tumor. The level of VEGF, the size of tumor and CTP parameters (BF, BV, PS and MTT) before treatment and after 2 cycles of treatment were determined for the comparison and the correlation between CTP parameters and VEGF expression was analyzed. Results: the therapeutic effect of rh-endostatin+DP regimen group was superior to single chemotherapy group. VEGF level after treatment in rh-endostatin+DP regimen group was obviously lower than single chemotherapy group (P<0.01). The expression of VEGF had positive correlation with BF and BV but negative correlation with MTT. Compared with treatment before for rh-endostatin+DP regimen group, BF, BV and PS decreased while MTT increased after treatment (P<0.05). However, there were no significant differences between treatment before and after treatment in single chemotherapy (P>0.05). Conclusions: Rh-endostatin can down-regulate the expression of VEGF in esophageal cancer, change the state of hypertransfusion and high permeability of tumor vessels and had the better curative effect and slighter adverse reactions when combined with chemotherapy.

Ginsenoside Rg3 in combination with artesunate overcomes sorafenib resistance in hepatoma cell and mouse models

        Ying-Jie Chen,Jia-Ying Wu,Yu-Yi Deng,Ying Wu,Xiao-Qi Wang,Amy Sze-man Li,Lut Yi Wong,Xiuqiong Fu,Zhi-Ling Yu,Chun Liang 고려인삼학회 2022 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.46 No.3

Sorafenib is effective in treating hepatoma, but most patients develop resistance to it. STAT3signaling has been implicated in sorafenib resistance. Artesunate (ART) and 20(R)-ginsenoside Rg3 (Rg3)have anti-hepatoma effects and can inhibit STAT3 signaling in cancer cells. This study aimed to evaluatethe effects of Rg3 in combination with ART (Rg3-plus-ART) in overcoming sorafenib resistance, and toexamine the involvement of STAT3 signaling in these effects. Methods: Sorafenib-resistant HepG2 cells (HepG2-SR) were used to evaluate the in vitro anti-hepatomaeffects of Rg3-plus-ART. A HepG2-SR hepatoma-bearing BALB/c-nu/nu mouse model was used to assessthe in vivo anti-hepatoma effects of Rg3-plus-ART. CCK-8 assays and Annexin V-FITC/PI double stainingwere used to examine cell proliferation and apoptosis, respectively. Immunoblotting was employed toexamine protein levels. ROS generation was examined by measuring DCF-DA fluorescence. Results: Rg3-plus-ART synergistically reduced viability of, and evoked apoptosis in HepG2-SR cells, andsuppressed HepG2-SR tumor growth in mice. Mechanistic studies revealed that Rg3-plus-ART inhibitedactivation/phosphorylation of Src and STAT3 in HepG2-SR cultures and tumors. The combination alsodecreased the STAT3 nuclear level and induced ROS production in HepG2-SR cultures. Furthermore, overactivation of STAT3 or removal of ROS diminished the anti-proliferative effects of Rg3-plus-ART, andremoval of ROS diminished Rg3-plus-ART's inhibitory effects on STAT3 activation in HepG2-SR cells. Conclusions: Rg3-plus-ART overcomes sorafenib resistance in experimental models, and inhibition of Src/STAT3 signaling and modulation of ROS/STAT3 signaling contribute to the underlying mechanisms. Thisstudy provides a pharmacological basis for developing Rg3-plus-ART into a novel modality for treatingsorafenib-resistant hepatoma.

Identification and Characterization of Gonatobotryum apiculatum Causing Leaf Spot and Blight on Sinowilsonia henryi

( Ying Gao ),( Hai Feng Liu ),( Zheng Xing Song ),( Xiao Ying Du ),( Jian Xin Deng ) 한국균학회 2020 Mycobiology Vol.48 No.1

Sinowilsonia henryi is a rare and endangered plant, as well as an endemic species in China. In July 2018, leaf spot and blight disease was observed on S. henryi in Yichang, Hubei, China. A fungus isolated from disease tissues was identified as Gonatobotryum apiculatum based on morphology and sequence analyses of ITS and LSU regions. Phylogenetic analyses indicated that the species belongs to Dothioraceae (Dothideales). Morphologically, the species produced two distinct types of conidia from authentic media, both conidia were described here. Pathogenicity tests showed that the fungus is a pathogen causing leaf spots on S. henryi. This is the first report of leaf spot and blight disease on S. henryi caused by G. apiculatum in China.

A Filament Level Analysis on 3-D Orthogonal Weave Microgeometry Modeling under Different Yarn Tension

        Ying Ma,Yueyan Liu,Congying Deng,Xiang Chen,Yang Zhao,Sheng Lu,Youqi Wang 한국섬유공학회 2020 Fibers and polymers Vol.21 No.10

3-D woven textile is generated through the weaving process. Yarn is a non-continuum material domain, thestructure of which is determined by inter fiber movement. In this study, the micro-geometry of 3-D orthogonal weave isgenerated at filament level predicting through the weaving process implementing the digital element approach (DEA). First, the basic concepts and explicit algorithm of DEA is introduced. The method of calculating adjusted digital fiber materialproperty in terms of discretization resolution is proposed. Second, the unit-cell topology of 3-D orthogonal weave is definedby a position matrix. The calculation of potential energy of the cell is derived. At last, a dynamic weaving process is designedto investigate the effect of yarn tension on fabric micro-geometry and cell energy. 4 unit-cells are generated under 4 sets oftension combination. Results show that as the fabric thickness decrease, the filaments of the weft yarns move towards thecenter. The weft yarns at the top and bottom deform into their final shape first. The applied tension on weaver plays adominant role in determining fabric thickness and convergence speed. By comparing the numerical results with themicroscope pictures taken from the actual specimen, it is concluded that the fabric micro-geometry produced by tensioncombination 4 closely matches the experimental results.

        Production Specialization and Trade Blocs

( Deng Shing Huang ),( Yo Yi Huang ),( Ying Chih Sun ) 세종대학교 경제통합연구소 (구 세종대학교 국제경제연구소) 2006 Journal of Economic Integration Vol.21 No.3

Using the clustering analysis and gravity model, this paper investigates the evolution of likely trade-bloc phenomenon for the textile industry and the automatic data processing industry for the last three decades. For the textile industry, a significant two-bloc phenomenon could be identified, one declining bloc mainly composed of the European countries, and the other rising bloc of countries around Pacific Rim. For the automatic data processing industry, only one trade bloc could be identified. However, the core countries have gradually changed from those of Europe and USA to the countries of East Asia over the period.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND OPTIMIZATION ANALYSIS ON BATTERY BOX WITH HONEYCOMB SANDWICH COMPOSITE STRUCTURE

        Ying Zhao,Jinyu Shi,Kaifeng Wang,Binlin Wang,Chao He,Xiaogang Deng 한국자동차공학회 2023 International journal of automotive technology Vol.24 No.1

A honeycomb sandwich battery box composed of high-strength steel outer layer, sandwich aluminum alloy honeycomb and inner layer is proposed. Firstly, the expressions of platform stress, ultimate strain and equivalent elastic modulus of ‘Y’ honeycomb cell are derived based on deformation mechanism and energy principle under quasi-static compression, and then the relations among relative density, unit volume energy absorption and thickness coefficient are acquired. Based on above, the optimal thickness coefficient of honeycomb unit cell can be acquired by utilizing particle swarm optimization algorithm. Simultaneously, aluminum alloy honeycomb sample is made to verify the accuracy of finite element simulation and theoretical models under quasi-static compression. Subsequently, the optimal thicknesses of three layers are optimized with the constraint that the 1st mode frequency is more than 30 Hz. Finally, the mass of the optimized battery box decreases by 37.26 %, and its static performances increase more largely compared with traditional one.
