        일부 농촌지역 재가 장애인의 요구도 분석

        The survey was conducted with participation of the 289 handicapped persons residing at the rural area OOeup-gun in Kyungbook for the period of March 2 - May 31, 2006, to study the nature in general of the handicapped and the boundaries of their need. For the nature in general of the handicapped, the study was done by gender iscrimination, age, marital status, religion, educational level, occupation, monthly income, disability cause, disabled duration, disability type, disability level. For the boundaries of their need, the study was done by demand of financial support, educational demand, demand of voluntary workers, need of rehabilitation and medical treatment, job training, improvement of living conditions, or so. Using the Win.SPSS program, we made a frequency analysis and conclusions on the nature in general of the handicapped and the boundaries of their need on a 2-test. Conclusions are : 1. Nature in general of the handicapped The existence of the handicapped shows high at the age over 51 (71.6%), male-handicapped (65.1%), primary school graduates (62.9%), farming engaging (65.2%), monthly income less than one million Won (80.5%), cause by disease (53.8%), duration more than 10 years (61.6%), disability at level 3 (39.8%), extremity disability (66.4%). 2. Correlation of nature in general with demand of the handicapped a. In demanding the financial support, support for helper’s compensation shows high (p<0.05). In demanding the necessity of voluntary workers, the male-handicapped appears high during the absence of family assistance and the female-handicapped appears differently per week and also appears high during the absence of family assistance (p<0.05). b. In educational demand of the handicapped by their age, the age below 30 demands technical-job training and the age over 31 demands medical education for health care (p<0.01). c. In demanding the financial support by educational level, support for living cost shows high (p<0.05). d. In demanding improvement of living conditions by postnatal cause of disability, improvement of house structure shows high (p<0.05). e. In demanding assistance of voluntary workers by disabled duration, "No Need" shows high in the disabled duration more than 4 years (p<0.05). f. In demanding rehabilitation and medical treatment by disability type, home-visiting treatment, oriental medical treatment and physical therapy show high (p<0.001). g. In educational demand by disability level, medical education for health care shows high (p<0.01).

        Studies on Quality Control Method of Crude Drug Prepations (Ⅲ) : Studies on the Analysis of Cervi Parvum Cornu

        Cervi Parvum Cornu has been known as one of the middle quality in Sin Nong Chinese Medical Botany. The main ingredients were collagen, calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate and protein, 7-hydroxycholesterol, etc. For these studies free amino acids quantities had been analyzed on the raw material of Cervi Parvum Cornu by the analytical method of A.A.A. under condition of column ion exchange resin #2619 (2.6×250㎜) detector 570㎚ and 440㎚. Bile acids identification had analyzed on the raw material of Cervi Palvum Cornu by the analytical method of HPLC under condition of column Radial pak C<sub>18</sub> with Guard column, mobile phase with 40% CH₃CN : HAc (100 : 1) and detector RI.

      • Inhibitory effects of the methylene chloride fraction of JP05 on the production of inflammatory mediators in LPS-activated BV2 microglia.

        <P>Excessive production of inflammatory mediators such as nitric oxide (NO) and proinflammatory cytokines from activated microglia in the central nervous system contributes to uncontrolled inflammation in neurodegenerative disorders. In this study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory activities of the methylene chloride fraction of JP05 (JP05-MC) on the production of inflammatory mediators in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated BV2 mouse microglial cells, and its mechanism of action. JP05-MC significantly inhibited LPS-induced production of NO and the proinflammatory cytokines, TNF-α and IL-6, in BV2 cells. JP05-MC also attenuated the mRNA expression and protein levels of inducible nitric oxide synthase in LPS-induced BV2 cells. JP05-MC significantly attenuated LPS-elicited phosphorylation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), extracellular-signal-regulated kinase 1/2, and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) nuclear translocation in BV2 cells. Our results indicate that JP05-MC exerts anti-inflammatory properties via downregulation of inflammatory mediator gene transcription by suppressing the MAPK and NF-κB pathways, suggesting that JP05-MC may have therapeutic potential as an anti-inflammatory agent in neurodegenerative diseases.</P>

      • Optimal Design of the Mover Considering the Electrical Characteristic of Linear Motor

        LMTT(Linear Motor based Transfer Technology) is a new type of transfer system used in the maritime container terminal for the port automation, and largely consists of a controller, shuttle car, and rail. The shuttle car is divided into the frame part, the driving part, and wheels. In order to design this system, various researches on each part of it must be conducted. In this study, we dealt with the optimum design for the mover of the shuttle car designed from previous studies on the strength of the frame with respect to the number of cross beams to minimize the weight of the shuttle car and to satisfy design criteria of cargo-handling systems in container terminal. For the optimization of the mover, thicknesses of each beam were adopted as design variables, the weight of the frame as objective function, and stress and deflection per unit length as constraint condition.

        Clinical characteristics of obese boys and girls in a high school: focused on abdominal fat indices, fatty liver and carotid intima-media thickness

        Purpose: Our study aimed to evaluated sex differences in clinical features of obese high school students,Methods: One hundred three obese high school students (body mass index [BMI]≥85th percentile) and 51 control students (BMI<85th percentile) were enrolled in this study. Anthropometric measurements were performed. Fasting serum glucose, insulin, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, total cholesterol, triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and high-sensitive C-reactive protein were measured. Abdominal fat thickness, degree of fatty liver, and carotid intima-media thickness were measured by ultrasound. Results: In control and obese groups, waist circumference was significantly longer in boys but body fat mass was significantly higher in girls. In the control group, total cholesterol and LDL-C were higher in girls. In the obese group, however, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and triglyceride were higher and HDL-C was lower in boys. Preperitoneal fat thickness was significantly higher in obese girls. In obese group, the degree of fatty liver was significantly higher in boys. Carotid intima-media thickness was not significantly different between boys and girls. Conclusion: Obese adolescents had distinguishable sex differences in body measurements, metabolic abnormalities, abdominal fat thickness and fatty liver. We can infer that these characteristics may extend into adult obesity.

      • A Novel Anticoagulant Protein with High Affinity to Blood Coagulation Factor Va from Tegillarca granosa

        A novel inhibitory protein against blood coagulation factor Va (FVa) was purified from muscle protein of granulated ark (Tegillarca granosa, order Arcoida, marine bivalvia) by consecutive FPLC method using anion exchange and gel permeation chromatography. In the results of ESI-QTOF tandem mass analysis and database research, it was revealed that the purified T. granosa anticoagulant protein (TGAP) has 7.7 kDa of molecular mass and its partial sequence, HTHLQRAPHPNALGYHGK, has a high identity (64%) with serine/threonine kinase derived from Rhodopirellula baltica (order Planctomycetales, marine bacteria). TGAP could potently prolong thrombin time (TT), corresponding to inhibition of thrombin (FIIa) formation. Specific factor inhibitory assay showed that TGAP inhibits FVa among the major components of prothrombinase complex. In vitro assay for direct-binding affinity using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectrometer indicated that TGAP could be directly bound with FVa. In addition, the binding affinity of FVa to FII was decreased by addition of TGAP in dose-dependant manner ($IC_{50}$ value = 77.9 nM). These results illustrated that TGAP might interact with a heavy chain of FVa ($FVa_H$) bound to FII in prothrombin complex. The present study elucidated that non-cytotoxic T. granosa anticoagulant protein (TGAP) bound to FVa can prolong blood coagulation time by inhibiting conversion of FII to FIIa in blood coagulation cascade. In addition, TGAP did not significantly (P < 0.05) show fibrinolytic activity and cytotoxicity on venous endothelial cell line (ECV 304).

        Negative Capacitance in Organic/Ferroelectric Capacitor to Implement Steep Switching MOS Devices

        <P>Because of the “Boltzmann tyranny” (i.e., the nonscalability of thermal voltage), a certain minimum gate voltage in metal–oxide–semiconductor (MOS) devices is required for a 10-fold increase in drain-to-source current. The subthreshold slope (SS) in MOS devices is, at best, 60 mV/decade at 300 K. Negative capacitance in organic/ferroelectric materials is proposed in order to address this physical limitation in MOS technology. Here, we experimentally demonstrate the steep switching behavior of a MOS devicethat is, SS ∼ 18 mV/decade (much less than 60 mV/decade) at 300 Kby taking advantage of negative capacitance in a MOS gate stack. This negative capacitance, originating from the dynamics of the stored energy in a phase transition of a ferroelectric material, can achieve the step-up conversion of internal voltage (i.e., internal voltage amplification in a MOS device).         Proximate Composition, and ʟ-Carnitine and Betaine Contents in Meat from Korean Indigenous Chicken

        This study investigated the proximate composition and $\small{L}$-carnitine and betaine content of meats from 5 lines of Korean indigenous chicken (KIC) for developing highly nutritious meat breeds with health benefits from the bioactive compounds such as $\small{L}$-carnitine and betaine in meat. In addition, the relevance of gender (male and female) and meat type (breast and thigh meat) was examined. A total of 595 F1 progeny (black [B], grey-brown [G], red-brown [R], white [W], and yellow-brown [Y]) from 70 full-sib families were used. The moisture, protein, fat, and ash contents of the meats were significantly affected by line, gender, and meat type (p<0.05). The males in line G and females in line B showed the highest protein and the lowest fat content of the meats. $\small{L}$-carnitine and betaine content showed effects of meat type, line, and gender (p<0.05). The highest $\small{L}$-carnitine content was found in breast and thigh meats from line Y in both genders. The breast meat from line G and the thigh meat from line R had the highest betaine content in males. The female breast and thigh meats showed the highest betaine content in line R. These data could be valuable for establishing selection strategies for developing highly nutritious chicken meat breeds in Korea.
