      • Study on Effect of Massage Technique based on Chaos Theory

        According to the mechanism of EMG signal, we know that the sacrificial electrical signal is with weak signal, low frequency, alternating, nonlinear and non-stationary characteristics. Nonlinear analysis includes higher order spectral analysis and fractal and chaos analysis.Chaos theory is one of the main parts of nonlinear science, and the electrical signal of the surface has a strong randomness, so we could consider the nonlinear analysis of EMG signals from the perspective of chaos. We mainly studied on the nonlinear analysis algorithm of EMG signal detailedly in this paper. Experiments show that,according to the quantitative analysis of several important parameters of rolling massage with chaos theory, we can measure objectively the action situation of related muscle groups in the operation course, then guide the professional massage students to understand the norms of operation in training of operation and help to lead their manipulation to the best power structure.

      • Analysis of Indoleamine 2-3 Dioxygenase (IDO) and EGFR Co-expression in Breast Cancer Tissue by Immunohistochemistry

        Background: To determine the amount of co-expression of IDO and EGFR in breast cancer patients. Materials and Methods:In order to obtain the distribution of co-expression of IDO and EGFR in breast cancer, we tested 110 breast cancer paraffin tissue blocks with immunohistochemical methods. Then we investigated the relationship between the diagnostic and pathologic characteristics (tumor size, lymph node status, histologic grade, the gene expression of ER, PR, HER2, p53, Ki67 and PCNA) with the situation of co-expression of IDO and EGFR by reviewing the medical records of 32 breast cancer patients. Results: Among 110 breast cancers, 32 cases demonstrated IDO and EGFR co-expression (29.1%), IDO and EGFR synchronous co-expression being found in 19.1% and asynchronous in 10.0%. Conclusions: IDO and EGFR were co-expressed in breast cancer, including synchronous and asynchronous co-expression. The results suggest that considering IDO and EGFR as two indicators for breast cancer treatment or prognosis analysis provides a potential option of individual treatment for the portion of breast cancer patients with co-expression of IDO and EGFR.

      • 韓國性徹法師在Sermon of One Hundred Days對《大般涅槃經》的解讀

        퇴옹성철(1912-1993)은 한국의 유명한 스님으로 해인사에서 출가했으며, 1967년 해인사 방장에 추대되었고, 1981년 대한불교조계종 제6·7대 종정을 역임했다. 현대 한국불교를 대표하는 성철 스님은 1967년 해인사 방장 재임 당시 불교의 핵심인 중도관과 선종이 중시하는 불성 문제를 체계적으로 강설했다. 이를 책으로 엮은 것이 『백일법문』이다. 이 책의 제5장에 『대반열반경』과 관련된 부분이 있다. 여기서 성철 스님은 『대반열반경』의 4단락을 인용해 『대반열반경』의 중도, 불성, 12연기, 연기의 지혜, 수행차제 등에 대해 해설했다. 스님은 중도를 핵심으로 여러 개념들을 요약하고, 중도사상을 선양했다. 특히 공과 유에 대한 여러 분석들에서 벗어나 곧바로 수행에 대한 가르침으로 나아갔다. 스님은 돈오돈수와 『대반열반경』은 깊은 관련이 있다고 주장했다. 경문을 인용해 자신의 주장을 증명함과 동시에 『대반열반경』의 불성설(佛性說)을 깨달음인지 아닌지를 판정하는 표준으로 삼았다. 이로써 성철 스님이 『대반열반경』을 중시했음과 성철 사상과 그의 수행실천을 연구할 때 당연히 『대반열반경』에 많은 관심을 가져야 됨을 알 수 있다. Venerable Sungchol(1912-93) is a Seon Master in Korea. The Sermon of One Hundred Days is a quotation that Master Sungchol teaches what is the Buddhist truth at Haein Temple in1967. In this Sermon, Master makes a clear narration of the middle way, the highest principle in Buddhism, and interprets many sūtras, including MahāpranirvāṇaSūtra. It is an important sūtra to Master, because he quotes many passages of this sūtrato support his claim, ‘sudden awakening and sudden practice’. He uses the middle way to explain some major concepts in this sūtra, such as buddha nature (buddha-dhātu), the wisdom of seeing the twelve links of dependent origination, dharma-dhātu and nirvāṇa, and then they are integrated into the middle way. This enables Master’s claim to be established.

        Hydration properties of cement pastes containing high-volume mineral admixtures

        This research aimed to investigate the influence of high-volume mineral admixtures (MAs), i.e., fly ash and slag, on the hydration characteristics and microstructures of cement pastes. Degree of cement hydration was quantified by the loss-on-ignition technique and degree of pozzolanic reaction was determined by a selective dissolution method. The influence of MAs on the pore structure of paste was measured by mercury intrusion porosimetry. The results showed that the hydration properties of the blended pastes were a function of water to binder ratio, cement replacement level by MAs, and curing age. Pastes containing fly ash exhibited strongly reduced early strength, especially for mix with 45% fly ash. Moreover, at a similar cement replacement level, slag incorporated cement paste showed higher degrees of cement hydration and pozzolanic reaction than that of fly ash incorporated cement paste. Thus, the present study demonstrates that high substitution rates of slag for cement result in better effects on the short- and long-term hydration properties of cement pastes.

      • Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Understanding Slow-moving Landslide

        Landslides have caused extensive infrastructure damage and threatened the human fatalities through the centuries. Among all triggered factors, massive precipitation and large earthquakes are considered to be the two key activators for pushing landslide moving, particularly for catastrophic landslides. The most acceptable mechanism resulting the landslide movement is liquefaction due to increasing water pore pressure. In this study, a landslide site has been well understood by hydrological, geophysical, geological, geodetic, geotechnical and seismological (H4GS) perspectives. Our seismic monitoring of daily relative velocity changes (dv/v) in sliding material decreased coinciding with first-half rainy period yet increased observing in post-half raining event. Geodetic survey (real-time kinematic, RTK; total station) before and after rainy period presents the vertical subsidence without any horizontal movement. The results from multidisciplinary investigation allow us to draw the conceptual model of landslide healing process caused by the water loading. Under the stability condition (F > 1.0) for each sliding materials, unconsolidated landslide colluvium and impermeable sliding surface could trap the seepage water to be as water pool, provided compact force acting on the materials below the sliding boundary. The vertical force of compaction facilitates to increasing the cohesion and strength of materials, tending the landslide material to be much stability. We demonstrated that healing process is periodically occurred but only for prolonged and intense precipitation combined with stability condition.

        Fire resistance of high strength fiber reinforced concrete filled box columns

        This paper presents an investigation on the fire resistance of high strength fiber reinforced concrete filled box columns (CFBCs) under combined temperature and loading. Two groups of full-size specimens were fabricated. The control group was a steel box filled with high-strength concrete (HSC), while the experimental group consisted of a steel box filled with high strength fiber concrete (HFC) and two steel boxes filled with fiber reinforced concrete. Prior to fire test, a constant compressive load (i.e., load level for fire design) was applied to the column specimens. Thermal load was then applied on the column specimens in form of ISO 834 standard fire curve in a large-scale laboratory furnace until the set experiment termination condition was reached. The test results show that filling fiber concrete can improve the fire resistance of CFBC. Moreover, the configuration of longitudinal reinforcements and transverse stirrups can significantly improve the fire resistance of CFBCs.

        MC2 Rings

        In this paper, we first study some characterizations of left MC2 rings. Next, by introducing left nil-injective modules, we discuss and generalize some well known results for a ring whose simple singular left modules are Y J-injective. Finally, as a byproduct of these results we are able to show that if R is a left MC2 left Goldie ring whose every simple singular left R-module is nil-injective and GJcp-injective, then R is a finite product of simple left Goldie rings.

        Local bond-slip behavior of medium and high strength fiber reinforced concrete after exposure to high temperatures

        This study aims to investigate the influence of individual and hybrid fiber on the local bond–slip behavior of medium and high strength concrete after exposure to different high temperatures. Tests were conducted on local pullout specimens (150 mm cubes) with a reinforcing bar embedded in the center section. The embedment lengths in the pullout specimens were three times the bar diameter. The parameters investigated include concrete type (control group: ordinary concrete; experimental group: fiber concrete), concrete strength, fiber type and targeted temperature. The test results showed that the ultimate bond stress in the local bond stress versus slip curve of the high strength fiber reinforced concrete was higher than that of the medium strength fiber reinforced concrete. In addition, the use of hybrid combinations of steel fiber and polypropylene fiber can enhance the residual bond strength ratio of high strength concrete.

      • Effect of Momordica Charantia L. on the Growth and Bacteriocin Production of Lactobacillus Gasseri Lyc400

        Many Gram-positive bacteria, particularly lactic acid bacteria, are known to secrete proteins that have antimicrobial activity. These proteins, known as bacteriocins, have been shown to display inhibitory activity against many pathogens. Use lactic acid bacteria fermented herb has many advantages, such as increase the extraction rate of herb, produce new active compounds, reduce waste etc. In this study, 270 strains of lactic acid bacteria were screened for bacteriocin producing ability, and Lactobacillus gasseri LYC400 was found to have highest bacteriocin activity. Lactobacillus gasseri LYC400 was used to ferment MRS broth with various concentration, 0, 2, 4, 6%, respectively, wild bitter melon (Momordica charantia Linn. var. abbreviata Ser.) powder. The fermentation broths were centrifuged and the supernatants were collected follow by protein extraction to analyze bacteriocin activity. The results showed wild bitter melon powder was able to support good growth of the lactic acid bacterium. The bacterial number, lactic acid concentration and the E. coli inhibition ability of protein extractions were positive correlated with bitter melon powder concentration. However, the Staphylococcus aureus inhibition ability of protein extractions were increased with 2, 4% bitter melon powder but decreased at 6% bitter melon powder. Fermentation wild bitter melon via Lactobacillus gasseri LYC400 increases its antibacterial activity with putative anti-diabetic activities may have great potential for health food.

        Blast-Resistance and Damage Evaluation of Concrete Gravity Dam Exposed to Underwater Explosion: Considering the Initial Stress Field

        There is an increasing concern on the vulnerability of concrete gravity dams under blast loads. To a better evaluation of the blast-resistance, the effect of the initial stress field is taken into consideration herein. Firstly, a fluid-solid coupling numerical model is established to investigate the blast-resistance of concrete gravity dams. The numerical results indicate that the initial stress field has non-neglectable effect on the shock wave propagation, blast vibration, and failure mode of concrete gravity dams. The damage of dam base may be overestimated without the consideration of initial stress field. Moreover, a parametric study are carried out for further investigations of the dynamic responses and damage properties under various explosion scenarios (explosive charge, detonation depth, and standoff distance). With the consideration of the initial stress field, it can be concluded that the dam head nearest the explosive source is the weakest part, and the safety of the dam base is another important consideration, which may lead to severe dam-break floods. At last, a new method is proposed and recommended to evaluate the blast resistance of the whole concrete gravity dam, where the blast-induced vibration and penetration depth of cracks are suggested for the dam crest and dam base, respectively.
