Recently carbon nanostructured materials are more attractive for the supercapacitor applications. Pure carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and double walled nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes (N-DWCNTs) have been synthesized for electrode material for the Supercapacitor applications. The N-DWCNTs were synthesized by Thermal Chemical Vapor Depositions (T-CVD) and they are coil shaped. The synthesized N-DWCNTs were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The morphology of coil shaped NDWCNTs were revealed by the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The Electrochemical performance of pure CNTs and N-DWCNTs was analyzed using Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) with 0.5 M H2SO4 electrolyte. It showed the good pseudocapacitance behavior for NDWCNTs. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was measured for N-DWCNTs and showed the smaller charge transfer resistance (Rct e 7.731 U) which is much smaller than that of CNTs (23.69 U). The specific capacitance was measured for pure CNTs (23.40 F/g) and N-DWCNTs (51.29 F/g) with current density 0.125 A/g.
Optimization of IAQ characteristics of an air-conditioned car using GRA and RSM
P. Thirumal,K. S. Amirthagadeswaran,S. Jayabal 대한기계학회 2014 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.28 No.5
Considering that air conditioning is widely applied for improving human standard of living, this present investigation is focused on theoptimization of indoor air quality characteristics of air-conditioned cars using the Gray relational analysis (GRA) and the response surfacemethodology (RSM). The air-conditioned space is selected and the experiments are planned as per experimental design to study theeffects of human load, fresh air supply, and air velocity on human comfort conditions. Mathematical models are developed to predict thecomfort conditions, namely temperature, CO2 level, and relative humidity over a specified range of input conditions. The optimum valuesof comfort conditions for varying input conditions are found by assigning weightages to individual responses using GRA and RSM.
Parametric optimization in squeeze casting of AA6061-Si3N4 composites using Taguchi method
M Thirumal Azhagan,B Mohan 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2021 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.22 No.4
Squeeze casting process is widely employed for the production of automotive and aerospace components. The research onsqueeze casting is largely focused on light weight alloys nowadays. In particular, the research on squeeze casting is highlyconcentrated upon aluminium alloys and their composites in the recent years. In this attempt, aluminium alloy AA6061 wasreinforced with silicon nitride (Si3N4) particles and the different grades of composites were developed by squeeze castingprocess. The parametric optimization was done by using Taguchi method. The parameters namely pressure, die temperatureand weight percentage of Si3N4 particles were varied each at three levels. The mechanical properties exhibited by the squeezecast composites were evaluated. It was observed that the component which was produced at the near optimal parameter setting(pressure of 100 MPa, die temperature of 275 oC and 6% of Si3N4) yielded higher values for mechanical properties of thecomponents.

Purpose: The brainstem plays an important role in the control of micturition, and brainstem strokes are known to present with micturition dysfunction. Micturition dysfunction in cases of lateral medullary infarction (LMI) is uncommon, but often manifests as urinary retention. In this study, we investigated the neuro-anatomical correlates of urinary retention in patients with LMI. Methods: This was a hospital-based retrospective study conducted in the neurology unit of a quaternary-level teaching hospital. Inpatient records from January 2008 to May 2018 were searched using a computerized database. Cases of isolated LMI were identified and those with micturition dysfunction were reviewed. MRI brain images of all patients were viewed, and individual lesions were mapped onto the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) space manually using MRIcron. Nonparametric mapping toolbox software was used for voxel-based lesion-symptom analysis. The Liebermeister test was used for statistical analysis, and the resultant statistical map was displayed on the MNI template using MRIcron. Results: During the study period, 31 patients with isolated LMI were identified. Their mean age was 48 years and 28 (90%) were male. Six of these patients (19%) developed micturition dysfunction. All 6 patients had urinary retention and 1 patient each had urge incontinence and overflow incontinence. In patients with LMI, the lateral tegmentum of the medulla showed a significant association with urinary retention. Conclusions: In patients with isolated LMI, we postulate that disruption of the descending pathway from the pontine micturition centre to the sacral spinal cord at the level of the lateral tegmentum results in urinary retention.

The drying behavior of turkey berries was investigated in a fluidized bed dryer with mild steel, copper, and aluminum as an inert medium with varying mass ratio of 0.5, 1, and 2 at a constant temperature 70 °C and velocity 4 m/s. The effect of surface roughness of the inert materials on the drying of samples was studied. It was found that the roughened surface and the presence of inert materials enhanced the drying rate. Aluminum inert materials with mass ratio of 1:1, surface roughness of 1mm and larger surface area resulted in a minimum drying time of 465 min, the maximum effective moisture diffusivity of 4.078x10 −10 m 2 /s, the highest vitamin C content of 1.38 g per 100 g, lowest shrinkage percentage of 40.3 %, and minimum change in color (∆E = 7.11) were obtained.

Arunkumar, Mohan,Bodaghi, Abasalt,Namachivayam, Thirumal,Sathya, Elumalai Korean Mathematical Society 2017 대한수학회논문집 Vol.32 No.4
In this paper, we introduce a new type of additive functional equations and establish the generalized Ulam-Hyers stability for it in intuitionistic fuzzy normed space by using direct and fixed point methods.

The fruit and seeds of Butea monosperma (Lam) Kuntze (Fabaceae) are useful in piles, anthelmintic, eye diseases, and inflammation in the Indian system of medicine. Hence, we have evaluated the anti-inflammatory activity of the fixed oil, mixed fatty acids, and unsaponifiable matter of B. monosperma against carrageenan-induced paw oedema and cotton pellet-induced granuloma in rats. The fixed oil, mixed fatty acids, and unsaponifiable matter of the oil exhibited significant anti-inflammatory activity on the tested experimental animal models. The unsaponifiable matter of the oil produced higher protection compared to fixed oil and mixed fatty acids. Phytochemical analysis of the fixed oil revealed the presence of steroids and terpenoids while unsaponifiable matter of the oil showed the presence of β-sitosterol. Also, four fatty acids were identified in the fixed oil by gas liquid chromatography. The anti-inflammatory activity of the fixed oil may be due to unsaponifiable matter or combination of unsaponifiable matter and mixed fatty acids.
