      • Mobility Design Proposal for Children’s Safety on Road

        Objective: We believe the scope of smart mobility can be extended beyond the means of transportation or a delivery tool. This study proposes a mobility design for the safety of child pedestrians. Background: Children are at high risk of pedestrian crash Injuries. According to the Traffic Accident Analysis System (TAAS), 483 school zone traffic accident cases were reported in 2020, and 87% involved pedestrians. Children have low situational awareness of their surroundings due to the low eye level and they have the tendency to be easily distracted. As a result, an oncoming vehicle might not be perceived as a threat to child pedestrians. Even with much effort by the government, the number of school zone accidents has not decreased in the past few years. Therefore, we would like to propose a smart mobility system resembling the Green Mothers’ Society of Korea (similar to Junior Police Officers), providing safety instructions to children and to keep an eye on the vehicles in school zones. Method: Our design process was based on the Double Diamond model. [Discover]: The risk factors derived from direct observation of two school zones in the areas of Greater Seoul are (a) children’s lack of situational awareness; (b) the negligence of drivers; (c) the blind spots created by illegally parked vehicles; (d) the traffic violations of delivery motorcycle riders. [Define]: When members of the Green Mothers’ Society are on duty, the roadways in school zones become much safer since the traffic gets controlled and actions taken immediately against the physical threats. [Develop]: Key elements in solving the problems are (a) device functioning as a barricade to restrict the vehicles; (b) pedestrian escort functions in highrisk places such as crossings; c) the ability to promptly report illegal parking; and d) the HMI function. [Deliver]: We propose ‘SIST’, which is a conceptual smart mobility system designed to improve the safety of children on school zone roadways. Results: SIST is made up of a fleet of ‘Kidobots,’ a guiding robot, and the ‘Mothership,’ where the Kidobots dock. Two or more SIST units drive autonomously towards each of their mission locations once the system is activated. When they arrive at the allocated locations, each of the Mothership disembarks four Kidobots. Then, the Motherships start to serve their duty as the barricade to control the traffic. Meanwhile, the Kidobots goes to the mission areas and serves as a guide for children and their safety. The Kidobots have several functions. They gently get in the way of oncoming cars to inform the driver the presence of the children at crosswalks or intersections where visibility is not secured. They also notify children to pay attention to the roads. Speakers and projectors will be used for communications. In addition, the built-in cameras will allow the Kidobots to take pictures of illegally parked cars and report it to the city. Conclusion: We proposed a smart mobility system that can enhance the safety of the child pedestrians in the school zone. It can be effectively used to protect children on their commuting routes. Application: Through this study, we were able to present a new area of public design that includes mobility. When the mobility we proposed is activated, it will be expanded to services related to autonomous vehicles and predictive using collected data. It is expected that the service can be expanded as well.

      • 위치 정보를 사용자의 맥락 정보로 활용한 음식점 추천 서비스 컨셉 제안

        사용자는 음식점을 결정하기 위해 상황을 기반으로 선택속성의 기준을 정하고 이용자 후기를 탐 색하며 정보를 얻는다. 사용자의 상황에 따라 의사결정이 달라지지만, 현재 서비스는 사용자의 상황을 고려하지 않고 제공되기 때문에 사용자의 시간 대부분이 탐색 작업을 반복하는 데 사용하게 된다. 본 연구의 3장에서 전문가 리뷰를 통해 문제를 정의하였고, 4장에서 사용자 컨텍스트 및 사용자 데이터, 그리고 음식점 정보를 기반으로 인텔리전스를 적용한 추천 서비스를 제안한다. 제안한 추천 서비스를 상황 인식 관점으로 접근하였고, 이를 통해 사용자가 지각, 이해, 예상 단계에서 반복했던 작업을 인 텔리전스가 대신 행하여 사용자의 시간을 절약하고 의사결정 과정을 도울 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. In the process of deciding a restaurant, the user sets the criteria for selection attributes based on the situation and explores for reviews to obtain information. Decision-making vary depending on the user's situation, but the current service is provided without considering the user's situation, leading to most of the user's time spent on repeating the explore task. In Chapter 3 of this study, the problem has been defined through Expert Reviews, and in Chapter 4, a recommendation service using intelligence based on user context, user data, and information about selection attribute has been proposed and approached from a Situation Awareness perspective. It is expected that intelligence can save users time and help the process of decision-making by replacing tasks that users repeated at the stage of Perceptions, Comprehension, and Projection of Situation Awareness.

        보육교사의 공감능력 및 교수몰입이 행복감에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 보육교사의 공감능력, 교수몰입, 행복감에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 연구대상은 U시 보육교사 111명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 분석방법은 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관관계분석을 실시하였으며, 변수 간의 인과관계에 대한 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 보육교사의 공감능력이 행복감에 미치는 하위요인인 인지적 공감 요인은 행복감에 긍정적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 교사의 공감능력의 하위요인인 정서적 공감 요인은 행복감에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 보육교사의 교수몰입이 행복감에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 교수몰입 요인은 행복감에 긍정적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 보육교사의 공감능력 하위요인인 인지적 공감 요인이 높을수록 행복감이 높아지며, 교수몰입 요인이 높을수록 행복감이 높아진다는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 본 연구의 시사점은 보육교사의 공감능력, 교수몰입, 행복감과의 관계를 파악함으로써 보육교사들의 행복감 향상을 위한 방안 마련의 기초자료가 될 것으로 사료된다. This study examined the effects of childcare teachers’ empathy, teaching commitment, and feelings of happiness. The subjects were 111 childcare teachers in U city. The frequency, reliability, and correlation analysis were performed using the SPSS 22.0 program, and regression analysis was performed on the causal relationship between the variables. First, the childcare teacher’s cognitive empathy factor had a positive effect on the sense of happiness. On the other hand, the emotional empathy factor, a sub-factor of the empathy ability, did not affect the feeling of happiness. Second, the childcare teacher’s teaching commitment had a significant positive effect on happiness. This means that a higher cognitive empathy factor, a sub-factor of the childcare teacher’s empathy ability, resulted in a higher sense of happiness. Moreover, a higher instructional commitment factor indicated a higher sense of happiness. This study provides basic data for preparing measures to improve the sense of happiness of childcare teachers by grasping the relationship between childcare teachers’ empathy ability, teaching commitment, and feelings of happiness.

        보육교사의 행복감이 공감능력과 교수몰입에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 보육교사의 행복감이 공감능력과 교수몰입에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 연구대상은 OO시 보육교사 135명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 분석방법은 SPSS 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관관계분석을 실시하였으며, 변수 간의 인과관계에 대한 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 보육교사의 행복감이 공감능력에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 행복감 요인은 공감능력에 정적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 보육교사의 행복감 요인이 높을수록 인지적 공감 및 정서적 공감 등의 공감능력이 높게 나타난다는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 둘째, 보육교사의 행복감이 교수몰입에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 행복감 요인은 교수몰입에 정적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 보육교사의 행복감 요인이 높을수록 교수몰입이 높게 나타난다는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 본 연구의 시사점은 보육교사의 행복감과 공감능력 및 교수몰입의 관계를 파악함으로써 보육교사들의 공감능력과 교수몰입 증진을 위한 방안 마련의 기초자료가 될 것으로 사료된다. The subjects were 135 childcare teachers in Ulsan city. For the analysis method, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis were performed using the SPSS program, and regression analysis was performed on the causal relationship between variables. First, an examination of the effects of the childcare teachers" feelings of happiness on empathy ability showed that the happiness factor had a significant positive effect on the empathy ability. This means that a higher happiness factor of childcare teachers meant higher empathy abilities, such as cognitive empathy and emotional empathy. Second, in the effect of childcare teachers" euphoria on teaching commitment found that the euphoria factor had a significant positive effect on teaching commitment. Hence, the higher the happiness factor of childcare teachers, the higher the teaching commitment. The implications of this study are considered basic data for preparing measures to enhance the empathy ability and teaching commitment of childcare teachers by understanding the relationship between childcare teachers" happiness, empathy ability, and teaching commitment.

        포스트디지털 시대 대학 예술·융복합 교과목 개발 - ‘일상사물과 예술’ 교양과목을 중심으로

        본 연구의 목적은 연구자가 개발하여 담당하고 있는 교양교과목인 ‘일상사물과 예술’ 수업 사례를 토대로 포스트디지털 시대라고 하는 동시대에 적합한 교육방법을 살펴보는 데 있다. 또한 현 시대가 요구하는 통섭적 사유능력을 함양한 인재교육을 목표로, 연구자의 교양교과에서 그 가능성을 실천해보고자 하였다. 이런 측면에서 본 연구는 급변하는 미디어 환경에서 대학의 교양예술교육을 점검하고 시대 흐름에 능동적으로 대처하는 교과목개발 사례를 통해 이 교과목의 학문적, 실천적, 교육적 의의를 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 융합교육이 융합적 지식과 사고의 창출이란 측면에서 볼 때, 이론과 실기를 겸한 교과목 ‘일상사물과 예술’ 개발은 일상에 대해 다양하게 생각할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 예술과 기술 미디어를 융합하는 교육적 효용을 함유하고 있다. 본론에서는 대학 예술교양교육과 융복합 교양과목에 대한 사례를 통해 상호작용할 수 있는 융복합 교양교과의 필요성을 제안하였다. 또한 연구자의 과목 개설 배경과, 내용, 진행과정, 사례를 전개하여 연구의 타당성을 구체화하였다. 이 교과목은 공학전공과 예술전공인 두 명의 교수가 진행하는 팀티칭 교과목으로, 주변의 친숙한 일상사물을 인문학과 예술 기반에서 바라보고 예술, 문학, 철학, 대중문화 등 이론과 사례로부터 새롭게 사물을 바라보는 수업이다. 강의는 학생들의 소속 전공과 당시 이슈 등을 파악하여 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 소재로 진행하며 과목웹사이트를 통해 과제를 제출하도록 해 모두가 내용을 공유할 수 있도록 하였다. 이론과 실기를 병행한 교과목을 대학 교양교육에서 찾기 힘든 점에 비추어 볼 때, 이론-현장학습-실습-창작으로 구성된 교양교육의 중요한 사례라고 할 수 있다. 이런 점에서 이 연구는 친숙한 일상생활로부터 예술적 창의성을 발견하고 이론과 창작의 균형적 커리큘럼을 통해 놀이처럼 실습하며 창작한 실질적 교육 모델이라고 할 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to examine an educational curriculum suitable for contemporary age, Post Digital Era. The curriculum developed by the researcher was applied in a liberal arts class called “Everyday Objects & Art” in a university. The curriculum aims to enhance students’ capacity of creative and critical thinking capacity which is an essential ability in the current society. This study examines this curriculum in terms of academic, practical, and educational perspectives. It emphasizes the necessity of an interactive convergence educational approach integrating different fields of studies for liberal arts education. This class is a team-teaching class in a rotation of two faculty members whose research is in a different field of studies. It encourages students to have a fresh view on ordinary objects in their everyday lives by broadening their horizons on humanity and artistic perspectives of those objects. Students participate in individual or small group discussions and the class actively utilizes online-based communication platform to support active interactions between lectures and students by posting course updates, information and feedbacks. It represents a good example of well-structured curriculums balancing among theories, field experiences, practical application, which is rarely provided for a liberal art class. It demonstrates how educational theories can be practically realized as a class in a university environment. The important meaning of the class is that it is combined by theory and practice in university liberal arts education. In particular, this class signifies how to simulate students’ creative and interdisciplinary thinking in their daily lives by using mundane and everyday objects. As a result, it provides educational programs that can express artistic creativity from familiar daily life and combine scientific creativity. This study plays a significant role in introducing a practical educational model integrating different fields of studies - arts, humanity and technology - for the era of fusion and convergence.

        Pre-service Teachers` Experience of Online Content-based English Writing

        This study investigated pre-service English teachers`` experience of online content-based English writing with a focus on their writing skills and writing attitudes. For the purpose of the study, six college students were recruited to participate in an academic learning program that was designed to assist their writing development. During eight weeks of writing practice, the students were asked to perform content-based writing tasks. They submitted two drafts, via email, for the same writing prompt each week and received two-stage feedback from a native speaker for each draft. They were also asked to keep learning logs after completing each task. At the same time, they were asked to take pre- and post-tests: essay writing tests, two types of vocabulary tests, and attitude questionnaires. The study found positive changes in the students`` writing ability, vocabulary knowledge, and writing attitudes. With regard to feedback, the students believed that it was nicely balanced, covering all three categories: content, organization, and form. The students, however, reported some difficulty in interpreting content-focused feedback or feedback that implicitly suggested areas for improvement.

        Kinetic control of nanocrack formation in a palladium thin film on an elastomeric substrate for hydrogen gas sensing in air

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We report the effects of various tensile velocities on the nanocrack formation in a Pd thin film on an elastomeric polydimethylsiloxane substrate and its H<SUB>2</SUB> sensing properties. A tunable nanocrack along the <I>x</I> and <I>y</I> axes was created by mechanical stretching/compression cycles with varying tensile velocities. From the microstructural analyses, we found that the tensile velocity has a significant effect on the crack density but little effect on the average crack width. The Pd nanogap sensor prepared under a high tensile velocity showed a high performance with a low detection limit of 500ppm of H<SUB>2</SUB> in air.         3D 측정 기기를 이용한 얼굴의 부피 정량법 연구

        PRIMOS body<sup>Ⓡ</sup> 기기를 이용한 얼굴부피 평가법 개발에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 평가법의 신뢰성을 확인하고 자 세 명의 시험자가 마네킹과 사람을 대상으로 얼굴 부피를 측정하였다. 마네킹의 얼굴에 여러 가지 부피의 찰흙을 붙이고, 기기로 얼굴을 측정하였는데, 실제 찰흙의 부피와 측정값 사이에 높은 상관성(R<sup>2</sup> = 0.99)이 있는 것으로 나타났다. % RSD와 Gage R&R 분석으로 기기의 정확성, 반복성, 재현성을 확인한 결과 신뢰성이 있는 결과를 얻었다. 이와 같은 평가법을 얼굴 붓기 감소에 영향을 주는 화장품의 효능을 평가하는데 적용하였다. 10명의 건강한 여성을 대상으로 화장품 사용 전후 얼굴의 부피를 측정한 결과, 얼굴의 부피가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해 PRIMOS body<sup>Ⓡ</sup>를 이용한 얼굴 부피 평가법은 인체평가에 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 보인다. The evaluation for the visage volume was performed with human and dummy face using PRIMOS body<sup>Ⓡ</sup>. Three researchers measured the dummy face attached different volume of clay (6.6 mL, 13.2 mL, and 19.8 mL). It is identified that the high correlation between measured values and real volume (R<sup>2</sup> = 0.99). The percent (%) of relative standard deviation (RSD) of the data was shown below 10 %. In Gage R&R analysis, the percent of contribution, the percent of study variation and distinct categories values were 0.78 %, 8.85 %, and 15 % respectively. Therefore this method was regarded as the good standard condition in aspect of reproducibility and repetitiveness of data. The face volume variation was measured by PRIMOS body<sup>Ⓡ</sup> on the face in participated 10 healthy Korean women volunteers. Subjects used the product once a day for two weeks as night sleeping pack. After application of the test products, the 3D image data of face were taken 1 and 2 weeks later. We found the face volume was significantly decreased after using products. In conclusion, this novel non-invasive technique was useful in measuring and visualizing alterations in face volume as a consequence of certain treatments. This system will provide a rapid and precise analysis of 3D topographical information for face.
