A Proposal for Prototype-Free Production Preparation Processes Utilizing 3DCG Animations
Shinoda, Shinji,Shimozawa, Kazuhiro,Niwa, Akira,Kawase, Takeshi,Matsumoto, Toshiyuki,Mizumachi, Tadahiro Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers 2009 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.8 No.2
As the use of 3DCAD data became widespread in designing products in manufacturing, attempts have been made to shorten lead time and reduce cost of production preparation utilizing 3DCAD data for launching assembly lines. In order to create assembly plans not only efficient but easy for operators to operate ('easy-to-operate'), this study presents approaches, methods, and systems for creating 3DCGAs (3 Dimensional Computer Graphic Animations) which automatically utilize a prototype-free production preparation methodology. Characteristics of this study include that it proposes the methodology for creating assembly operation 3DCGAs automatically, for all the possible assembly operations corresponding each of the possible assembly sequences first. Using the created 3DCGAs, the study next considers assembly methods by evaluating how easy or 'operator friendly' they are in implementing, and devises tools or jigs to be used, and plans efficient assembly line organization. The concept of the methodology was formed by focusing on the value-adding assembly steps at which parts turn into products directly. The study also validates the effectiveness of the presented methodology by employing the methods used in actual production preparation process in businesses, and proves that an efficient assembly line can be organized in a shorter period of time utilizing the developed system and by preparing easy-to-operate and efficient plans in 3DCGAs at the design stage.
A Design Creation Method for Ship Configuration based on the Aesthetic Cognitive Theory
Shinoda, Takeshi,Fukuchi, Nobuyoshi The Society of Naval Architects of Korea 2001 Journal of ship and ocean technology Vol.5 No.3
The shape of an industrial product has to be determined within the constrained conditions of keeping firmly many kinds of functional and performance requirements. On the other hand, the configuration of artistic work would be created desirably using the sense of aesthetics, even if conflicting slightly with these requirements. The development of a methodology for an aesthetic design founded on human sensitivity is becoming highly desirable in recent years. In this paper, a method of measuring beauty quantitatively for an artistic evaluation if proposed using the aesthetic cognitive theory and the optimum configuration could be found by a search using the genetic algorithm. Furthermore, an expression of optimum ship appearance can be gained as graphics.
Motion Analysis of Nihon Buyo using Motion Capture System
Yukitaka Shinoda,Shingo Murakami,Yuki Mito,Reishi Watanuma,Mieko Marumo 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
The aim of this study is to use motion analysis as a tool for classifying styles, schools of Nihon Buyo (traditional Japanese dance) and differences in proficiency. We report on a basic study of motion analysis in which we calculated the center of gravity and rotation angles of dancers of different age from the same school to further our aim of using motion capture to analyze the flow of actions in dance routines in order to subject Nihon Buyo to motion analysis.
Real-time Measurement of Multi-point Strain by Fiber Bragg Gratings using Optical Frequency Sweeping
Yukitaka Shinoda,Yu Sasaki,Kenichi Nagai,Izumi Ogura,Takashi Higo 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
This paper is described how FBG and OFDR can be combined to cover a greater number of locations by using FBGs with identical characteristics in combination with FBGs with different reflection wavelengths. We report on our basic experiments on multi-point strain measurements with a real-time measurement system. It is shown that this system can determine the reflection wavelengths from multiple FBGs with the same reflection wavelength simultaneously every 4 seconds.
