OBJECTIVES: We aimed to examine the current status and trends of food and nutrient intake in the Korean population over the past 20 years using the data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). METHODS: We conducted a survey of 116,284 subjects over the age of one year in Korea, who participated in the KNHANES between 1998 and 2018. We collected data on the subjects’ intake for the day before using the 24-hour recall method. The annual percent change (APC) in the food groups and nutrient intake were calculated using SAS and Joinpoint software. RESULTS: The intake of grains (APC=-0.4, p<0.05) and vegetables (APC=-0.8, p<0.05) was observed to decrease. In contrast, the intake of beverages, meat, dairy, and eggs increased. In particular, beverage intake increased by more than four times (APC=9.2, p<0.05). There was no significant change in energy intake. However, the proportion of energy intake from carbohydrates decreased by approximately 5%p (APC=-0.3, p<0.05), whereas that from fat increased by approximately 5%p (APC=1.1, p<0.05). Additionally, there were decreases in the proportion of energy intake from breakfast and homemade meals and increases in the energy intake from snacks, dining out, and convenience food. The intake of vitamin C (APC=-3.2, p<0.05) and sodium (APC=-2.3, p<0.05) significantly decreased. CONCLUSIONS: Over the past 20 years, there has been decreases in the intake of grains, vegetables, carbohydrates, sodium, and vitamin C and increases in the intake of beverages, dairy, meat, eggs, and fat. Since nutritional status is an important factor in the prevention and management of chronic diseases, it should be continuously monitored.

Methotrexate (MTX) has been established as a standard disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug. If adequate disease control is achieved for a reasonable period of time, tapering the MTX dosage is recommended because the chronic use of MTX can result in opportunistic infection. We present here a case of a woman with rheumatoid arthritis taking MTX, and the woman developed actively caseating endobronchial Mycobacterium intracellulare disease with pulmonary infiltrations. After discontinuing the MTX, the patient was able to tolerate 18 months of antimycobacterial treatment without flare ups of rheumatoid arthritis, and she completely recovered from nontuberculous mycobacterial respiratory disease.

A Pen-Pressure-Sensitive Capacitive Touch System Using Electrically Coupled Resonance Pen
Changbyung Park,Sungsoo Park,Ki-Duk Kim,Sanghui Park,Juwan Park,Byunghoon Kang,Yunhee Huh,Gyu-Hyeong Cho IEEE 2016 IEEE journal of solid-state circuits Vol.51 No.1

A touch system sensing pen-pressure of the proposed electrically coupled resonance (ECR) pen is implemented, which can replace costly digitizer system containing electro magnetic resonance (EMR) and capacitive touch system. The proposed system detects the location of the ECR pen and finger using proposed position sensor, and senses pen-pressure of ECR pen using proposed pen-pressure sensor. For the position sensor, to detect even small variation of the mutual capacitance on touch screen panel (TSP) of the pen, a simultaneous driving scheme is proposed with modified Hadamard matrix, resulting in highly increased dynamic range and SNR. In the proposed pen-pressure sensor, the resonant frequency of the ECR pen is measured by a frequency to voltage converter based sensor. The measured SNR for the pen position is 49 dB with 1 mm phi metal pillar, and 6.5-bit resolution is achieved for pen-pressure sensor in 6 sigma criteria.

High MET copy number and MET overexpression: poor outcome in non-small cell lung cancer patients.
Park, Sanghui,Choi, Yoon-La,Sung, Chang Ok,An, Jungsuk,Seo, Jinwon,Ahn, Myung-Ju,Ahn, Jin Seok,Park, Keunchil,Shin, Young Kee,Erkin, Ozgur Cem,Song, Kyung,Kim, Jhingook,Shim, Young Mog,Han, Joungho Gutenberg 2012 Histology and histopathology Vol.27 No.2

The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence and prognostic role of increased gene copy number and protein expression of MET and EGFR in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Samples were collected from 380 patients with surgically resected NSCLC, and fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) were performed. EGFR amplification and high polysomy (EGFR FISH-positive) were observed in 9.7% and 17.4% of the patients, respectively. EGFR was overexpressed (EGFR IHC-positive) in 19.2% of the patients. Neither EGFR FISH-positive nor EGFR IHC-positive status affected survival after resection. Increased MET copy number (MET FISH-positive by University of Colorado Cancer Center criteria) was observed in 11.1% of the patients (high polysomy, 8.7%; gene amplification, 2.4%). According to the Cappuzzo system, 7.1% of the patients were MET FISH-positive. MET FISH positivity was a negative prognostic factor, especially in patients with adenocarcinoma histology (p=0.040), female gender (p=0.010), old age (p=0.084), and EGFR FISH negativity (p=0.020) at the univariate level but not at the multivariate level. MET was overexpressed (MET IHC-positive) in 13.7% of the patients and associated with shorter overall and disease-free survival (p=0.010 and p=0.056, respectively). Multivariate analysis revealed that MET IHC-positive patients had a significantly increased risk of death (hazard ratio, 1.618; 95% confidence interval, 1.066-2.456; p=0.024). Increased MET copy number and MET overexpression are negative prognostic factors for surgically resected NSCLCs.

[P142] Collagenoma in a patient with Down syndrome: A case report and review of literature
( Sanghui Park ) 대한피부과학회 2017 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.69 No.1
A 26-year-old woman with Down syndrome was presented with a palpable mass at the sacrococcygeal region. She had no history of trauma at this site and has a 15-year history of this mass with little interval change and increased slowly in size over the past several months. Physical examination shows an about 40mm-sized mass at the sacrococcygeal region without tenderness. Initial clinical diagnosis was benign tumorous condition such as organizing abscess or epidermoid cyst. For further evaluation, ultrasonography was performed. On ultrasonography, an about 3.5x2.5x4.1cm-sized heterogeneous anechoic mass was noted at the skin and subcutaneous layer with an impression of epidermoid cyst. Local excision was followed and cut section revealed a 40mm-sized, ill-defined yellowish white-tan nodule. In the scanning view, hyperkeratosis with mild acanthosis was noted. In reticular dermis, densely packed collagen fibers with entrapped blood vessels and eccrine ducts were present. Masson`s trichrome staining revealed an increased amount of collagen, and an elastic tissue stain showed a marked decrease in elastic tissue in papillary and reticular dermis. Based on these histologic and special staining features, the diagnosis of collagenoma was made. Only 4 cases of collagnoma in patients with Down syndrome have been reported and no report has been described in Korea.

Intracellular accumulation of bile acids in the hepatocytes during cholestasis is thought to be pathogenic in cholestatic liver diseases. The objective of this study was to determine the role of lipid peroxidation and glutathione on the bile acid-induced hepatic cell death mechanism in primary cultured rat hepatocytes. To induce hepatic cell death, we incubated primary cultured rat hepatocytes with glycochenodeoxycholic acid (GCDC; 0∼400μM) for 3 hours. In electron microscopic examination and agarose gel electrophoresis, low concentration of GCDC treatment mainly induced apoptotic feature. Whereas 400μM GCDC treated cells demonstrated both apoptosis and necrosis. Lipid peroxidation was increased dose- dependently in GCDC treated hepatocyte. And this was also accompanied by decreased glutathione. Therefore, oxygen free radical damage may play a partial role in GCDC-induced hepatic cell death.

Sanghui Lee,Jin-Ho Park,Won Kim 한국동물분류학회 2015 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.31 No.3
Two porcelain crab species, Aliaporcellana pygmaea (De Man, 1902) and Lissoporcellana nakasonei (Miyake, 1978), are reported here for the first time from Korean waters based on specimens collected from Jeju Island, Korea. The genus Aliaporcellana Nakasone and Miyake, 1969, and Lissoporcellana Haig, 1978 are also reported here for the first time in Korea. Aliaporcellana pygmaea has a wide distribution. The specimen reported here is the most northern record of this species. While, Lissoporcellana nakasonei, associated with anthozoans, was known for distributing range from New Caledonia to southern Japan. As a result, the distribution rage of L. nakasonei is changed to Korea. Now, 12 species of porcelain crabs have been reported in Korean waters.

The incidence of renal cell neoplasms has been increased in worldwide as well as in Korea. Even though the World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of renal tumors (2004) is currently used, new entities require to be added in the updated classification because of recent modification with our understanding of the molecular biology and different clinical behavior of new renal tumors. In this review, recently described tumors and candidate entities will be discussed. It is of importance to know these new entities for the proper diagnosis, treatment, and their prognosis.
