        Mental Health Among Healthcare Workers During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Vietnam

        Objectives: The objective of this study was to characterize mental health issues among Vietnamese healthcare workers (HCWs) and to identify related factors.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 990 HCWs in 2021. Their mental health status was measured using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale.Results: In total, 49.9%, 52.3%, and 29.8% of respondents were found to have depression, anxiety, and stress, respectively. The multivariable linear regression model revealed that factors associated with increased anxiety scores included depression scores (β, 0.45; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.39 to 0.51) and stress scores (β, 0.46; 95% CI, 0.41 to 0.52). Factors associated with increased depression scores included being frontline HCWs (β, 0.57; 95% CI, 0.10 to 1.10), stress scores (β, 0.50; 95% CI, 0.45 to 0.56), and anxiety scores (β, 0.41; 95% CI, 0.36 to 0.47), while working experience was associated with reduced depression scores (β, -0.08; 95% CI, -0.16 to -0.01). Factors associated with increased stress scores included working experience (β, 0.08; 95% CI, 0.00 to 0.16), personal protective equipment interference with daily activities (β, 0.55; 95% CI, 0.07 to 1.00), depression scores (β, 0.54; 95% CI, 0.48 to 0.59), and anxiety scores (β, 0.45; 95% CI, 0.39 to 0.50), while age was associated with reduced stress scores (β, -0.12; 95% CI, -0.20 to -0.05).Conclusions: Specific interventions are necessary to enhance and promote the mental health of HCWs so they can successfully cope with the circumstances of the pandemic.

      • Novel Carrier PWM Technique with Extension Range For 4-Switch Inverter

        Three-phase 4-switch voltage source inverters are advantageous for reduced number of power switches. For these topologies, space vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVM) methods have been commonly used for controlling the circuit. This paper presents a novel carrier based PWM method for 4-switch inverters, which is simple and flexible. Linear overmodulation will be also investigated. The proposed method will be mathematically analyzed and demonstrated by simulation and experimental results.

        Feasibility study on photoacoustic guidance for high-intensity focused ultrasound-induced hemostasis.

        <P>The feasibility of photoacoustic imaging (PAI) application was evaluated to map punctured blood vessels thermally treated by high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for hemostasis. A single-element HIFU transducer with a central frequency of 2.0 MHz, was used to induce thermal hemostasis on the punctured arteries. The HIFU-treated lesion was imaged and localized by high-contrast PAI guidance. The results showed that complete hemostasis was achieved after treatment of the damaged blood vessels within 25 to 52 s at the acoustic intensity of 3600??W/cm 2 . The coagulation time for the animal artery was 20% longer than that of the phantom possibly due to a lower Youngs modulus. The reconstructed PA images were able to distinguish the treated area from the surrounding tissue in terms of augmented signal amplitudes (up to three times). Spectroscopic studies demonstrated that the optimal imaging wavelength was found to be 700 nm in order to reconstruct high-contrast photoacoustic images on HIFU-treated lesions. The proposed PAI integrated with HIFU treatment can be a feasible application to obtain safe and rapid hemostasis for acute arterial bleeding.</P>

        Magnetoresistance Effect in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 Thin Films Fabricated by Using Pulsed Laser Deposition

        La0:7Sr0.₃MnO₃ thin films were fabricated onto (100) n-Si substrates by using pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The thickness of the lms was controlled from 30 nm to 100 nm by varying deposition time. The deposited lms were then annealed at 600℃ for 5 h. Room-temperature X-ray patterns verifed that the lms had a La0:7Sr0:3MnO3 single phase as did the target. The crystalline orientation of the lms was in uenced by the lms thickness. Thinner lms were more oriented in the (104) direction. The Magnetoresistance (MR) measured at 300 K for all the lms exhibited a pure DE behavior that depended on the films thickness. A nonlinear eld dependence of the magnetoresistance was observed in the temperature region far below TC. This obtained result could not be explained by the DE mechanism. Fitting experimental data to the spin polarized tunneling model, we attributed the dominated low-field MR below TC to spin polarized tunneling between grain boundaries.         Vietnamese is an isolating language, though there are also many multi-syllables words, but it is still a combination of monosyllabic elements, especially Vietnamese is a tone language so the problem of stress, rhythm is not much research. However, from the point of view of pragmatical linguistics, especially in the field of teaching language, stress and rhythm have been noted for a long time and in fact have achieved certain results. The report briefly presents the main achievements in the study of stress and rhythm of Vietnamese speech by some Vietnamese language researchers, including foreign researchers, focusing on the results of research in the past 10 years. At the same time, the report focuses on the main concepts, characteristics, roles and activities of stress and rhythm in Vietnamese speech; function of the intensity, length, height during highlights and marks the focal point of stress; the role of pause, accented rhythm, speed express words, the number of syllables in each rhythm ... etc. Finally, the report gave a rhythmic structure of Vietnamese speech with the composition of its prosody Stress and rhythm of Vietnamese speech are units of prosody. They are "souls", the identity of Vietnamese. For the Vietnamese people, the rhythm and stress of spoken Vietnamese is naturally expressed as a habit in every context of communication. However, for non-native speakers, especially foreigners learning Vietnamese, it is not easy to express the rhythm and stress of spoken Vietnamese. In their speech, there is still a "foreign accent", sometimes said to be misunderstood by the Vietnamese people ... The reason is that they have not shown the right "Vietnamese accent" ". In other words is not expressed the correct stress, the rhythm of Vietnamese speech. Studying and understanding issues related to speech and the activity of Vietnamese spoken language is a complex field. Besides investing in researching and exploring the problem in a deep and wide way, it also requires the support of modern machinery, technology as well as technology. Therefore, the frame structure of the Vietnamese spoken word that we presented in this report is not strictly affirmative, imposing but suggestive. It is considered as a basic tool, helping both teachers and learners gradually understand the structure of Vietnamese accent and familiar with the operation and characteristics of Vietnamese speech. Accordingly, depending on the actual situation, both teachers and learners can formulate strategies for teaching and studying Vietnamese in their own proficiency.
