      • Metamorphosing Intelligence for Eco-effective Service Construction

        In our everyday life, we have lots of devices which perform specific functions. However, most of the devices have not used long-term according to the change of user requirements or preferences which is a serious problem in terms of sustainability. Recently, eco-effective or Cradle to Cradle strategy has been regarded as promising in enabling sustainable product development. However, the number of attempts to solve the devices’ sustainability concerns has been very few. Therefore, this paper newly suggests the metamorphosing intelligence based on the metamorphosis process in entomology, which is a representative autonomic growing system in the ecosystem. Then self-growing user interface is proposed. The metamorphosing intelligence enables the devices used more than once by automatically redesign the interface mechanism in response to the recognition of the environmental change or the change generated by the user.

        Understanding Customer Intention to Adopt Sustainable IT Products through Two Dimensional Value Structure and Perceived Sustainability

        As sustainability has grown into a key global issue, more and more information technology (IT) products have adopted these concepts to attract consumers. However, these products potentially require consumers' physical or economic sacrifice at least for a short period of time. Therefore, the reason of consumers' adoption of sustainable IT products cannot be fully explained by the two traditional values: hedonic and utility values. However, expectancy-value theory, which has been used to explain the relationship between value and behavior, still takes hedonic value and utility value into consideration. The purpose of this study is to suggest an amended expectancy-value theory to better explain the adoption of IT products that consider sustainability. For this purpose, two social values-the normative value based on the Schwartz's model of moral norm and the eudemonic value of the Stoic philosophy-were added to the individual values to examine which value particularly influences the adoption of sustainable IT products. In addition, the moderating effect of perceived sustainability between four values and adoption of sustainable IT products was verified.

      • Concept lattices for visualizing and generating user profiles for context-aware service recommendations

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Estimating user profiles for service recommendations in an efficient and manageable manner is very important. In a mobile setting, the service recommendation is more likely to depend on context. Since context data are multi-leveled, easy to reconfigure and dynamically changing, a sophisticated mechanism to handle these characteristics when mining for useful rules for ad hoc service recommendations from contextual data is necessary. Moreover, estimating the dynamic changes of the user profiles according to the change of context under a mobile setting is critical for context-aware service recommendations. However, legacy recommender systems having this capability are still quite rare. Hence, this paper aims to propose a user profile-discovering methodology. To do so, a concept lattice, which we will call the profile lattice, is considered for visualizing and generating user profile rules.</P>

        Current Status and Challenges of RegTech: Focused on Machine Readable Regulation

        대표적인 규제산업인 금융 산업에서 규제 관련 위험을 경감하고 나아가서 규제 관련 보고의 비용을 절감하는 레그테크의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 특히 최근 인공지능과 빅데이터 기술의 발전으로 레그테크의 핵심 기술인 Machine Readable Regulation과 Machine Executable Regulation의 실효성 있는 개발에 대한 기대가 높아지고 있다. 예를 들어, 영국의 FCA는 지난 수차례에 걸친 개념검증을 통해 레그테크의 적용 범위를 확대하였다. 그러나 한국의 경우 한국어로 이루어진 규제 법령에 대한 Machine Readable Regulation의 개발 난제 등으로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 한국 상황에서 Machine Readable Regulation 및 Machine Executable Regulation 개발 시 고려할 이슈 등에 집중하여 레그테크의 현황과 과제를 분석하는 것이다. 레그테크를 통해 금융법령을 Machine Readable Regulation로 관리하려는 시도는 금융법령을 잘 준수하여 사회적 책무를 다하려는 금융기관의 노력과 금융 사고를 최소화하여 국가 금융산업의 건전성을 유지하는 감독기관으로서의 사회적책임의 실현 차원에서도 의미가 있을 것이다. In financial industry, as a representative industry that is heavily regulated, the needs for RegTech is gradually emerging to reduce regulatory risks and costs of reporting. In particular, with the recent advances in artificial intelligence and big data technologies, expectations for effective development of the Machine Readable Regulation and Machine Executable Regulation, which are the core technologies of RegTech, are increasing. For instance, the FCA, the regulatory body of UK, continuously expands the scope of RegTech over time and applies it to regulations in practice. However, Korea is experiencing difficulties due to restricts in developing Machine Readable Regulations for regulatory laws written in Korean. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the tasks of RegTech by focusing on issues to be considered in the development of Machine Readable Regulation and Machine Executable Regulation in Korea. In fact, managing financial laws as Machine Readable Regulations through RegTech is consistent with the efforts of financial institutions to fulfill their social responsibilities by complying with financial laws and regulations. Moreover, RegTech will be meaningful to supervisory agencies that fulfill their social responsibilities by minimizing financial accidents and maintaining the soundness of a country"s financial institutions.

        An Intimacy-based Trust Reasoning Method for Intelligent Ecommerce Systems

        전자상거래에서 신뢰도는 전자상거래 서비스 제공업체의 비가시성이나 그들의 평판으로 인한 소비자의 우려를 완화시켜주기 때문에 사용자의 신뢰수준을 추정하는 것은 전자상거래의 지속적 사용에 있어 중요한 기술이다. 기존의 신뢰도 측정법은 주로 전자상거래 시스템에서 사용된 정책과 평판기반의 추론에 근거한 사용자들의 초기 경험에 중심을 두었다. 그러나, 보다 성숙된 단계의 전자상거래 시스템 지속사용 가능성 추정을 위한 신뢰도 측정에 대해서는 별다른 대안이 없었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 성숙단계에서의 전자상거래 시스템에 알맞은 신뢰도 추론방법을 제안한다. 특히, 친밀도는 평판뿐 아니라 신뢰도와도 깊이 관계하고 있기때문에 사용자의 입력을 강제하지 않는 친밀도 측정 방법을 새롭게 개발하였다. 성과 측정을 위한 실험에서는 제안된 방법이 유효하고, 평판기반의 신뢰도 추론과 함께 사용할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. Estimating levels of user trust is important for maintaining continuous use of e-commerce systems because trust alleviates user concerns about the invisibility of service providers or their reputation. Conventional trust estimation approaches such as policy-and reputationbased reasoning have focused on the experience of e-commerce systems at an early stage. However, only a few trust reasoning methods have considered the mature stage, which is more related to continuance intention. We propose a trust reasoning method dedicated to the mature stage of using e-commerce systems. In particular, a new method of unobtrusively estimating the degree of user intimacy is developed, because intimacy has been highly associated with trust as well as reputation. Our experiments show that the proposed method is valid and can be used in conjunction with reputation-based trust reasoning.

        Effects of E-Commerce Website’s Trusting Actions on Customer’s Continuous Intention

        신뢰는 전자상거래 사이트의 지속적 사용에 있어서 중요한 요소로 인정되어오고 있다. 신뢰란 상호작용적임에도 불구하고 대부분의 연구는 고객의 전자상거래 사이트에 대한 신뢰에만 초점을 두어오고 있었다. 신뢰의 상호작용성 관점에서 볼 때, 고객이 특정 전자상거래 사이트가 자신에 대해 얼마나 신뢰하고 있다고 지각하는지도 지속적 사용에 영향을 줄 것으로 보이나 이를 실증 분석한 연구는 그 중요성에도 불구하고 거의 드물다. 따라서 본 연구는 고객이 사이트에 대해 얼마나 자신을 신뢰하고 있느냐 하는 지각이 그 사이트의 지속적 사용에 영향을 미치는지를 규명하고자 한다. 특히 전자상거래 사이트들이 고객으로부터 신뢰를 얻기 위해 취하는 행동이 신뢰에 어떠한 영향을 주는지에 대해서도 조사하였다. 본 연구는 전자상거래 사이트의 신뢰 구축 행동이 신뢰 및 신뢰를 받고 있다는 자각에 각각 중요한 요인임을 보였다. Trust has been identified as crucial to intention to continue to use e-commerce systems. Although trust is inherent in relationship-based practices, most studies on trust have focused on influences on customer trust. From the viewpoint of mutual trust, few empirical studies have examined the effect of users’ perceived trust from an e-commerce website on customer trust in that website, despite the obvious importance of this issue, particularly in the field of e-commerce. This paper empirically examines the role of customer perception of trust in the customer on the part of e-commerce websites. In addition, this study explores the ability of e-commerce websites’ trusting actions to transfer positive impressions that encourage trust in those sites. The results indicate that in the e-commerce context, a website’s trusting actions are important to customer perception of being trusted by and trusting in e-commerce websites.

        Smarter Classification for Imbalanced Data Set and Its Application to Patent Evaluation

        Overall, accuracy as a performance measure does not fully consider modular accuracy: the accuracy of classifying 1 (or true) as 1 is not same as classifying 0 (or false) as 0. A smarter classification algorithm would optimize the classification rules to match the modular accuracies’ goals according to the nature of problem. Correspondingly, smarter algorithms must be both more generalized with respect to the nature of problems, and free from decretization, which may cause distortion of the real performance. Hence, in this paper, we propose a novel vertical boosting algorithm that improves modular accuracies. Rather than decretizing items, we use simple classifiers such as a regression model that accepts continuous data types. To improve the generalization, and to select a classification model that is well-suited to the nature of the problem domain, we developed a model selection algorithm with smartness. To show the soundness of the proposed method, we performed an experiment with a real-world application: predicting the intellectual properties of e-transaction technology, which had a 47,000+ record data set.
