      • 폐결핵의 진단 및 치료반응의 평가에 있어 PCR의 임상적 유용성

        Since its development by Saiki et al, polymerase chain reaction(PCR) has been very useful in the diagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. PCR was employed to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis in 145 samples from patients with active tuberculosis, other pulmonary diseases and controls, and the results were compared with culture and clinical findings. None of culture negative samples from 20 healthy controls were PCR positive. Of 80 active tuberculosis patients, 65(81.3%) patients were PCR positive and it was significantly higher than the positive results by smear[46(60.0%)], and was similar to the positive results by culture [64(80.0%)]. 40(83.3%) of 48 smear positive and 25(78.1%) of 32 smear negative specimens were positive by PCR. 52(81.3%) of 64 culture positive and 13(81.3%) of 16 culture negative specimens were positive by PCR. In 25 specimens from inactive tuberculosis patients, 1(3.8%) gave PCR positive results, and 5(23.8%) of 21 specimens from patients with other pulmonary diseases (bronchitis, pneumonia etc) were PCR positive. Therefore, this study suggests that PCR could be a very rapid, sensitive and specific method for the early diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis, especially in the smear negative sputum. However, to minimize false negative results, getting high quality specimens and decontamination before analysis are very important. Also, the interpretation of PCR results in sputums of pulmonary diseases should be done carefully, and further studies should be performed in PCR positive and culture negative patients.

      • 운동전·후 淸暑益氣湯 투여방법이 2,000m 달리기시 선수들의 운동피로회복에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of two different chung-seo-ik-gi-tang administration types on fatigue induced during 2,000 m running in 12 healthy-male elite boxer. All subjects were divided randomly with two groups, Pre-administration Group(A: N=7) and Pre- and Post-administration Group(B: N=7) and performed 2,000 m maximal running. The blood samples were collected from antecubital vein by 10ml syranges(6ml/each) at before exercise, immediately after exhaustion, recover-10 min, recover-20 min and recover-30 min. These samples were used to analyze for the level of glucose, lactate, TG, LDH, pH, HCO₃?, Na??, K??. The statistically analyzed results of various blood parameters were summarized as follow, 1. Plasma glucose were not showed significant difference between two groups. but glucose lwvel at post-exercise and rest-30 min in B group wes significantly decreased. 2. Lactate accumulation in B group was significantly decreased at post-exercise and rest-30 min.. And lactate level at rest-30 min. was showed significant difference between two gruops. 3. Serum LDH response to 2,000 m running at post-exercise and recovary periods was showed significant changes in B group. 4. Venous pH at post-exercise, HCO₃? at post-exercise and rest-30 min. in A group and pH at post-exercise and rest-10, 20 min., HCO₃? at post-exercise were showed significant changes. But there were not showed significant difference between two groups. 5. K?? level in B group was showed significant difference compared to A group. And also K?? level at rest-30 min. in B group was showed significant change. The results indicated that Chung-seo-ik-pi-tang had the effects of ergogenic aids on fatigue and recovery during 2,000 m maximal running.

        맹출성 복잡치아종 : 증례보고 A Case Report

        Odontomas, hamartomas of odontogenic origin, are composed of all the structures that make up teeth The WHO distinguishes odontoma into two types. The complex odontoma is defined as "a malformation in which all the dental tissues are represented. individual tissues being mainly well-formed but occurring in a more or less disorderly Pattern." The compound odomtoma is defined as "a malformation in which all the dental tissues are represented in a more orderly pattern than in the complex odontoma so that the lesion consists of many tooth-like structures. Most of these structures do not resemble morphologically the teeth of normal dentition, but in each one enamel, dentin, cementum and pulp are arranged as in the normal tooth." Although these tumora occur frequently and constitute 22% of all odontogenic tumors, reports on erupted odontomas are very rare. Erupted odontoma are defined as tumors that it occurs a calcified mass may be defected on the alveolar ridge. The final diagnosis should be confirmed by biopsy. The treatment of choice is complete surgical excision, similarly to intraosseous odontoma and it does nat tend to recur. The histopathological report confirmed the diagnosis of complex odontoma. This report presents a case of 8-year-old girl with the calcified mass within the operculum covered the central fossa of the mandibular left fkrst molar. And it was diagnosed as erupted complex odontoma by excisional biopsy.

In order to protect of eutrohication, It is necessary that get ride of sediments, Nutrients and algaes.

        Booming Noise of a Automotive can be divided in Air Borne Noise and Structure Borne Noise. In this study, Booming Noise is reduced by the vector Synthesis method. The vibration that transferred by the engine is managed. The car that by the used model is composed of Mount system supported to three point with 2000 cc 14 engine FR vehicle. The vibration that is transmitted from propeller sharft and Differential Gear to Sub Frame and Suspention effect Booming Noise. but, The vibration that generated by the Mount has Booming Noise more than it. So, We research that sound generated by the Mount and reduce that Booming Noise used the Dynamic Damper. The Booming. Noise by the vector Synthesis. is reduced in 2000 ~ 4000 rpm front of vehicle. We know that Booming Noise is reduced into hoped for rpm by the vector Synthesis.

        전방 십자 인대 파열에서의 반월상 연골판 파열의 양상

        Injury to associated structures is expected to worsen the prognosis of ACL tears. Meniscal injuries are well known to coexist in knees with both acute and chronic ACL injuries. However, it is not conclusive whether the likelihood of encountering a repairable meniscal lesion diminishes as the time from injury increases. W e reviewed records of 127 patient receiving an arthroscopically assisted stabilizing procedure for an acute and chronic ACL injury incurred while skiing, soccer, traffic accident to associated meniscal injury. All patient had undergone arthroscopic evaluation. We classified acute injury as injury less than 3 months old at time of surgery, and chronic injury as more than 3 months old. Acute injuries were 88 cases and chronic injuries were 39 cases. In 55 ski-related injuries, 41 knees were acute and 14 knees were chronic. Fourteen(34%) meniscal tears were noted in chronic cases. In 42 soccer injuries, 20 knees were acute and 22 knees were chronic. In acute cases, 14(70%) meniscal tears were noted and in chronic cases, 14(64%) meniscal tears were noted. In 30 traffic accident injuries, 27 knees were acute and 3 knees were chronic. In acute cases, 19(70%) meniscal tears were noted and in chronic cases, 2(67%) meniscal tears were noted. There was strong trend of the increased incidence of medial involvement in the non-skiers than in the skiers, In the type of meniscal tear with acute ACL rupture, 33 of 52 meniscal were longitudinal tear, 6 were horizontal tear, 4 were radial tear(only in lateral meniscus) and 9 were complex tear. In the pattern of meniscal tear with chronic ACL rupture, 15 of 37 meniscal were longitudinal tear, 3 were horizontal tear, 1 was radial tear(only in lateral meniscus) and 18 were complex tear(medial meniscus 16, lateral meniscus 2). In the treatment of torn menisci, 29 of 52 meniscal tears were treated by conservative treatment and meniscal repair, 21 meniscal tears were treated by partial menisectomy and 2 meniscal tears were treated by subtotal menisectomy in acute injuries. In chronic injury, 10 of 37 meniscal tears were treated by conservative treatment and meniscal repair, 18 meniscal tears were treated by partial menisectomy and 9 meniscal tears were treated by subtotal menisectomy. There was no total menisectomy. As the time from injury increased, the medial meniscus tears were severe and were more likely to require menisectomy.

        Community dynamics of phytoplankton and primary productivity have been investigated bimonthly from February 1997 to December 1997 in the coastal area around Moonsom of the southern Cheju Island, which is well-known for soft coral habitats in Korea. Average water temperature was 18.5℃ , being stratified from May to September by the seasonal thermocline, while vertically homogeneous in the winter. Euphotic depths ranged from 18.9 m to 45.9 m (average 33.7 m). Chlorophyll α concentrations varied from 0.02 to 0.92 ㎍ · ℓ-1 Standing crops of phytoplankton ranged from 2×103 to 3.9×105 cells · ℓ-1, showing a peak only in the spring. Diatoms occupied 67.5% of the total standing crops, while phytoflagellates, dinoflagellates and others 24.3%, 7.1% and 1%, respectively. However phytoflagellates and dinoflagellates were predominated with 36.6% and 38.7% in June, respectively. There was four dominant species in the study area. Chaetoceros sociales Lauder was dominant species from December to April, Prorocentrum micans Ehrenberg in June. In August, Chaetoceros socialis Lauder dominated in inshore but Paralia sulcata (Ehrenberg) Cleve in offshore. In October, Skeletonema costatum (Greville) Gran dominated the whole area. Daily primary productivity varied from 32.3 to 364.9 mg C · m-2 . day-1 (average 180.7 mgC · m-2 . day-1). Contribution of nanoplankton (<20 ㎛) to daily primary productivity was very high, accounting for 28.0-82.8%. Annual primary productivity is estimated 65.97 gC · m-2 ·yr-1, which is lower than those of the coast of Yellow Sea and the southern waters. Nanoplankton seemed to adopt higher irradiances with Ik values of 190-1,000 □· m-2·s-1 (mean 526.7 □ · m-2·s-1) than total phytoplankton with 140-850 □ ·m-2·s-1 (mean 466.7 □· m-2·s-1).
