Despite clinical advances in anticancer therapy, there is still a need for novel anticancer metabolites, with higher efficacy and lesser side effects. Oroxylum indicum (L.) Vent. is a small tree of the Bignoniaceae family which is well known for its food and medicinal properties. In present study, the chemopreventive properties of O. indicum hot and cold non-polar extracts (petroleum ether and chloroform) were investigated with MDA-MB-231 (cancer cells) and WRL-68 (non-tumor cells) by XTT assay. All the extracts, and particularly the petroleum ether hot extract (PHO), exhibited significantly (P<0.05) higher cytotoxicity in MDA-MB-231 when compared to WRL-68 cells. PHO was then tested for apoptosis induction in estrogen receptor (ER)-negative (MDA-MB-231) and ER-positive (MCF-7) breast cancer cells by cellular DNA fragmentation ELISA, where it proved more efficient in the MDA-MB-231 cells. Further, when PHO was tested for anti-metastatic potential in a cell migration inhibition assay, it exhibited beneficial effects. Thus non-polar extracts of O. indicum (especially PHO) can effectively target ER-negative breast cancer cells to induce apoptosis, without harming normal cells by cancer-specific cytotoxicity. Hence, it could be considered as an extract with candidate precursors to possibly harness or alleviate ER-negative breast cancer progression even in advanced stages of malignancy.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) isolated from umbilical card blood were capable of differentiated in to multiple mesenchymal cell lineages. The objective of the current study was to establish a reproducible system for the in vitro osteogenic differentiation of human MSCs, and to characterize the effect of changes in the microenvironment upon differentiation. In our previous studies, MSCs cultured in varying concentrations of L-ascorbic acid (50µM to 500µM) had shown the various levels of osteoblast differentiation, as determined by morphology, alkaline phosphatase activity, modulations in osteocalcin mRNA expression, and mineralized extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition holding inorganic hydroxyapatite (HA) and Tricalcium phosphate (TCP). In present study, we noticed a study increase in APase activity up to 250µM L-ascorbic acid and by end of 16 days, cells gained cuboidal morphology, which is characteristic feature of osteoblasts. The intense sharp difractograms (peaks) between 30o-35o demonstrate the deposition of HA and TCP, which are major inorganic components of bone. The reproducible results of our studies provided a useful model for evaluating the factors responsible for the stepwise progression of cells from undifferentiated precursors to secretary osteoblasts, and eventually terminally differentiated osteocytes.

A unique RF superimposed DC sputtering technique was used to tailor the plasma during the sputtering process and to control the kinetics for the growth of a-IZO. The growth dynamics were controlled to achieve high optoelectronic properties, low surface roughness and low residual stress for flexible devices using statistical design of experiment approach. A common growth space was found to achieve a smooth surface in a stress-free and high optoelectronic merit a-IZO thin film. The grown a-IZO thin film was also used as a transparent electrode in a flexible Ga2</O3 solar-blind photodetector.
HYDROGEN USE IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE: A REVIEW
Kumar, Vasu,Gupta, Dhruv,Kumar, Naveen The International Promotion Agency of Culture Tech 2015 International Journal of Advanced Culture Technolo Vol.3 No.2
Fast depletion of fossil fuels is urgently demanding a carry out work for research to find out the viable alternative fuels for meeting sustainable energy demand with minimum environmental impact. In the future, our energy systems will need to be renewable and sustainable, efficient and cost-effective, convenient and safe. Hydrogen is expected to be one of the most important fuels in the near future to meet the stringent emission norms. The use of the hydrogen as fuel in the internal combustion engine represents an alternative use to replace the hydrocarbons fuels, which produce polluting gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydro carbon (HC) during combustion. In this paper contemporary research on the hydrogen-fuelled internal combustion engine can be given. First hydrogen-engine fundamentals were described by examining the engine-specific properties of hydrogen and then existing literature were surveyed.
Molecular Characterization of Hallikar Breed of Cattle Using Microsatellite Markers
Kumar, S. Naveen,Jayashankar, M.R.,Nagaraja, C.S.,Govindaiah, M.G.,Saravanan, R.,Karthickeyan, S.M.K. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2006 Animal Bioscience Vol.19 No.5
Molecular characterization of Hallikar, the native cattle breed of Karnataka, was undertaken using 19 cattle specific, highly polymorphic microsatellite markers recommended by FAO. The genomic DNA was subjected to PCR amplification and alleles were resolved through six per cent denaturing PAGE with a 10 bp DNA ladder followed by silver staining. Genotyping of animals was done based on allele size. The number of alleles ranged from three to nine with allele sizes ranging from 102 bp to 294 bp. These alleles were distributed in the frequency range between 0.0306 and 0.8673 in the population. The mean observed number of alleles was $6.368{\pm}1.4225$. The mean observed and expected heterozygosities were $0.7515{\pm}0.1734$ and $0.7850{\pm}0.1381$, respectively. The high heterozygosity observed implies presence of higher genetic variability within Hallikar breed. The PIC (Polymorphism Information Content) values ranged from 0.2322 (ETH152) to 0.8654 (ETH225). The percentage of polymorphic loci obtained was 100 as all the 19 microsatellite markers were found to be polymorphic. Except for ETH152, all the other loci had high PIC values, indicating that these markers are highly informative for characterization of Hallikar breed. The population was tested for Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium at 19 microsatellite loci, and at 74 per cent of the loci the population was found to be in disequilibrium.
Intelligent Control of Space Robot System using RBF Neural Network
Naveen Kumar,Vikas Panwar 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2015 No.10
In this paper, an intelligent controller is proposed for a space robot system with an attitude controlled base without joint acceleration measurements. The controller consists of computed torque type part, RBF neural network and an adaptive controller. The controller achieves the required tracking effectively. The controller is able to learn the existing structured and unstructured uncertainties in the system in online manner. The RBF network learns the unknown part of the space robot system dynamics with no requirement of the offline training. The adaptive controller is used to estimate the unknown bounds on unstructured uncertainties and neural network reconstruction error. The overall system is proved to be asymptotically stable in the sense of Lyapunov. Finally numerical simulation studies are performed to evaluate the controller performance.

Entrapment neuropathies of the peripheral nervous system are frequently encountered due to anatomical variations. Median nerve is the most vulnerable nerve to undergo entrapment neuropathies. The clinical complications are mostly manifested by median nerve impingement in forearm and wrist areas. Median nerve entrapment could also occur at the arm, due to the presence of ligament of Struthers. Here we report a rare case of proximal entrapment of median nerve and brachial artery in the arm by an abnormally formed musculo-fascial tunnel. The tunnel was formed by the muscle fibers of brachialis and medial intermuscular septum in the lower part of arm. Due to this, the median nerve coursed deep, below the tunnel and continued distally into the forearm, underneath the pronator teres muscle and hence did not appear as a content of cubital fossa. The present entrapment of neurovascular structures in the tunnel might lead to pronator syndromes or other neurovascular compression syndromes.
Face and Eye Recognition on Gray Image using DWT with RBFSVM Method
Naveen Kumar Ahirwar,Manish Dixit 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.6
Facial part detection or extraction shows the most important role in face and eye recognition. In this article proposed a new algorithm for Face and Eye Recognition (FER) using radial basis function support vector machine (RBFSVM) classifier. The discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is used for feature extraction and selection. For the experimental results, used JAFFE and ORL database. In this algorithm, extract face component like left eye, right eye, mouth and nose. In the preprocessing stage, apply median filtering for removing noise from an image. This stage improves the feature extraction process. Finding an image from the image components is a typical task in pattern recognition. The detection rate has reached up to100% for eye recognition and for face recognition is 90-96%. The proposed system estimates the value of precision and recall. This algorithm is compared with SVM and our proposed proved better than previous algorithms.
