COMPETITIVE CLUTTER - NOT TOO BAD AFTER ALL?
Nadine A. Schirmer 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2014 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2014 No.3
This research analyzes the effects of competitive advertising in women’s magazines on the consumer using an experiment. In addition to replicating adverse interference effects of competitive advertising on memory in a real-world media environment, this study demonstrates that it also induces an increased product category desire for the advertised product category.

Purpose: German companies do not yet effectively use and develop the specific competencies of highly skilled specialists, such as engineers, economists and information scientists, when it comes to conducting Integrated Product Service System projects. In light of the demographically caused scarcity of specialized workforce and the industrial progress towards service dominated production, valuable capabilities to manage quality in personnel development are wasted, and with it market success in the mid- to long-term perspective. Current project management still tends to be resource-based, rather than competency-based. This research hence aims at using innovative team work concepts and quality methods for a state-of-the-art development of a new, competency-based project management so that challenging re-quirements in regards to the IPSS-value-add and hence the □Made in Germany“ quality require-ments can be met. This approach supports the active use and further development of specialist com-petencies in the area of IPSS, extended employment relationships, successful international projects and therefore fosters economic power and wealth. Methodology/Approach: The innovation of this research paper is the integration of task related set-actual competency reconciliations in project management processes, as these will enable net-work-orientated companies in the area of IPSS to use project- and company related (hidden) compe-tencies efficiently. Findings: A sustainable personnel development for IPSS is aimed at by applying the innovative concept in a consistent cross-project approach. This will result in further development of business-related competency management tools and their seamless integration into project management. Originality: The innovative concept is based on two success criteria: the creation of competency profiles according to IPSS order and company requirements and the interconnection of competency development and project management for a resource-orientated and sustainable implementation.
Revisiting the estimation of the error density in functional autoregressive models
Nadine Hilgert,Bruno Portier 한국통계학회 2015 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.44 No.4
In this paper, we study some asymptotic properties of a new estimator of the probability density function of the driven noise in a nonparametric functional autoregressive model. This density estimator, based on the kernel method, does not require the estimation of the residuals of the model (as in the usual plug-in estimator). We prove its pointwise consistency with rate and establish a multivariate central limit theorem, without any assumption on the noise distribution tail. Theoretical results are illustrated with some simulation experiments. We finally propose a goodness-of-fit test of the error distribution, built from a normalized sum of the quadratic deviation between the true density and its estimator evaluated on a finite set of distinct points.

This study was conducted to measure the concentrations of strontium (Sr), barium (Ba), cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), manganese(Mn), chromium (Cr), antimony (Sb), selenium (Se), and lead (Pb) in canine liver, renal cortex, and renal medulla, and the association of theseconcentrations with age, gender, and occurrence of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Tissues from 50 dogs were analyzed using inductivelycoupled plasma mass spectrometry. Cu, Zn, and Mn levels were highest in the liver followed by the renal cortex and renal medulla. The highestSr, Cd, and Se concentrations were measured in the renal cortex while lower levels were found in the renal medulla and liver. Female dogshad higher tissue concentrations of Sr (liver and renal medulla), Cd (liver), Zn (liver and renal cortex), Cr (liver, renal cortex, and renal medulla),and Pb (liver) than male animals. Except for Mn and Sb, age-dependent variations were observed for all element concentrations in the caninetissues. Hepatic Cd and Cr concentrations were higher in dogs with CKD. In conclusion, the present results provide new knowledge aboutthe storage of specific elements in canine liver and kidneys, and can be considered important reference data for diagnostic methods and furtherinvestigations.
Trade and Tourism in Democratic Republic of Congo: Key Business for Sustainable Financing
Nadine Mujinga Kuka,Jinhwan Oh,Jisun Song People&Global Business Association 2021 Global Business and Finance Review Vol.26 No.1
Purpose: This study examines Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) trade and tourism as the country’s key business for sustainable financing and growth. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses a panel dataset of DRC’s trade and tourism flows from 165 countries over two years (2014-2015). An empirical analysis based on the gravity model is conducted. Findings: The empirical results are basically consistent with the general prediction of the gravity model that both size and distance matter, but, this stereotype result seems to fade away when the consumer price index (CPI) and region dummy are added. Research limitations/implications: Based on the results, it is recommended that DRC to take appropriate measures and cooperate with its neighboring African countries to attract more tourists, strengthen existing trade agreements, and implement policies to minimize real exchange volatility and strengthen misalignment to create maximize economic benefits. Originality/value: An empirical paper for DRC, particularly for both trade and tourism is rare. This study is expected to give a guideline for this country’s sustainable growth.
PURPOSE AS DRIVER OF SUCCESS? A PERSPECTIVE-DRIVEN ANALYSIS OF CORPORATE PURPOSE
Nadine Auhuber 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07
Corporate purpose is postulated across industries as a strategic success driver. In the context of a literature analysis, this study works out whether the concept of purpose is anchored in well-known concepts such as mission and vision. An empirical study will examine the assessment of purpose in relevant stakeholder groups.
