        The Effect of Mobile Neurofeedback Training in Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A Randomized Controlled Trial

        Objective: To examine the effect of mobile neurofeedback training on the clinical symptoms, attention abilities, and execution functions of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Methods: The participants were 74 children with ADHD aged 8−15 years who visited the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Seoul National University Children’s Hospital. The participants were randomly assigned to the mobile neurofeedback (n = 35) or control (sham; n = 39) group. Neurofeedback training was administered using a mobile app (equipped with a headset with a 2-channel electroencephalogram [EEG] sensor) for 30 min/day, 3 days/week, for 3 months. Children with ADHD were individually administered various neuropsychological tests, including the continuous performance test, Children’s Color Trails Test-1 and 2, and Stroop Color and Word Tests. The effects of mobile neurofeedback were evaluated at baseline and at 3 and 6 months after treatment initiation. Results: Following treatment, both mobile neurofeedback-only and sham-only groups showed significant improvements in attention and response inhibition. In the visual continuous performance test, omission errors decreased to the normal range in the mobile neurofeedback-only group after training, suggesting that mobile neurofeedback effectively reduced inattention in children with ADHD. In the advanced test of attention, auditory response times decreased in the mobile neurofeedback + medication group after training, but increased in the sham+medication group. Overall, there were no significant between-group differences in other performance outcomes. Conclusion: Mobile neurofeedback may have potential as an additional therapeutic option alongside medication for children with ADHD.

        유니버설디자인 개념을 적용한 웹 콘텐츠 접근성 가이드라인 제안

        2007년 한국정보문화진흥원(KADO)의 웹 접근성 준수현황 보고서에 의하면 다수의 웹 사이트는 여전히 웹 접근성 지침을 준수하지 않고 있어 사용자의 인터넷 사용능력에 의한 정보격차 가능성이 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 이에 정부는 관련법률 제정 및 제도 개선 등을 통해 정보격차를 최소화하기 위해 노력하고 있으나 범용적으로 사용하고 있는 웹 접근성 가이드라인은 특히 장애인 사용자에게 포커스가 맞춰져있다. 따라서 모든 사용자에게 보편적 정보접근을 보장하자는 웹 접근성의 본래 취지에 비해 미흡한 기존의 지침을 이용하여 웹 접근성 평가를 하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 기존 웹 접근성 지침을 비교 분석하여 예상치 못했던 문제점들을 도출하고 이를 해결하기 위해 장애인을 포함한 모두를 위한 디자 인을 기본 철학으로 한 유니버설디자인 개념을 도입한 UD-WCAG (Universal Design-Web Content Accessibility Guide)를 제안한다. UD-WCAG은 7개 대분류와 46개 항목으로 구성된다. According to the report of web-accessibility compliance status of the Korea Agency for Digital Opportunity & Promotion (KADO) in 2007 a number of web-site still has not complied with the web accessibility instruction that there is a high possibility of information gap by the Internet use capability of user. For this purpose the government has made efforts to minimize the information gap through the enactment of pertinent laws system improvement and others however the web accessibility guideline generally used is focused on the use of the disabled. Therefore the web accessibility evaluation is made by using the existing instruction that is insufficient to the original purpose of web accessibility to guaranty the general information access for all users. Therefore this research proposes UD-WCAG that introduced the concept of universal design with the basic philosphy of design for all including the disabled for formulating the unexpected problems and the solutions thereto by comparing and analyzing the existing web accessibility instruction. UD-WCAG is consisted of 7 main classifications and 46 lists.

      • Effective Formation of WO<sub>3</sub> Nanoparticle/Bi<sub>2</sub>S<sub>3</sub> Nanowire Composite for Improved Photoelectrochemical Performance

        <P>A well-defined WO<SUB>3</SUB>/Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB> composite comprised of single-crystalline Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB> nanowire (Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB>NW) layers on top of the WO<SUB>3</SUB> nanoparticles (WO<SUB>3</SUB>NP) was synthesized via an in situ hydrothermal reaction. The single-crystalline Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB> nanowires were uniformly grown on the surface of the WO<SUB>3</SUB> nanoparticle layer. This in situ hydrothermal process is also a general route for the synthesis of well-aligned Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB> nanowires on various metal oxide substrates, such as TiO<SUB>2</SUB>, BiVO<SUB>4</SUB>, and ZnO. Compared to the sole Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB> electrode, the resulting WO<SUB>3</SUB>NP/Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB>NW composite showed enhanced photoelectrochemical activity. The origin of this enhanced activity is mainly attributed to the enhancement of charge separation on the Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB> layer, due to the effective photogenerated electron transfer from the Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB> conduction band to that of WO<SUB>3</SUB>. Furthermore, the single-crystalline longitudinal structure of the Bi<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>3</SUB> nanowires can provide a direct electrical pathway through a single domain of nanowires.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

        기업 SNS 커뮤니케이션이 조직-공중 관계성에 끼치는 영향 : 소셜 프레즌스, 기업 정체성, 기업-자아 동일시를 중심으로

        Objectives This study explored how the use of corporate social media effects organization-public relationships, using various identified concepts including: social presence, corporate identity, and company-customer identification. The study results are expected to contribute to the development of a more effective and comprehensive corporate SNS PR strategy planning. Methods An online survey was conducted with 295 adults in their 20s and 60s who are following corporate SNS accounts. A structural equation modeling was conducted to examine and review the proposed research questions and hypotheses. Results The results of the study showed that the effect of corporate social presence on SNS can serve as a leading factor influencing corporate identity, company-customer identification and a major factor that can improve organization-public relationships. In addition, it was confirmed that the reviewed corporate identity and company-customer identification variables, which are psychological linkages to a corporation, are positively affecting the relationships between an organization and its public as differentiated variables. These results are empirical evidence that corporate social media PR communication activities, and are a part of the multifaceted processes that require detailed strategic planning. Conclusions This study is meaningful in that it expanded the existing social media PR research, that only tends to focus on the technological factors of the media environment itself. In this research, by applying the social presence, the corporate identity and the company-customer identification variables review and highlight a more humanistic aspect of the organization, which was brought to the fore. It is expected that a more effective SNS communication PR strategy can be established through the continued analysis of the factors related to the cognitive psychological aspects, as experienced by the public in terms of their interaction with organizations using social media channels.

        De novo assembly and phasing of a Korean human genome

        <P>Advances in genome assembly and phasing provide an opportunity to investigate the diploid architecture of the human genome and reveal the full range of structural variation across population groups. Here we report the de novo assembly and haplotype phasing of the Korean individual AK1 (ref. 1) using single-molecule real-time sequencing(2), next-generation mapping(3), microfluidics-based linked reads(4), and bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) sequencing approaches. Single-molecule sequencing coupled with next-generation mapping generated a highly contiguous assembly, with a contig N50 size of 17.9 Mb and a scaffold N50 size of 44.8 Mb, resolving 8 chromosomal arms into single scaffolds. The de novo assembly, along with local assemblies and spanning long reads, closes 105 and extends into 72 out of 190 euchromatic gaps in the reference genome, adding 1.03 Mb of previously intractable sequence. High concordance between the assembly and paired-end sequences from 62,758 BAC clones provides strong support for the robustness of the assembly. We identify 18,210 structural variants by direct comparison of the assembly with the human reference, identifying thousands of breakpoints that, to our knowledge, have not been reported before. Many of the insertions are reflected in the transcriptome and are shared across the Asian population. We performed haplotype phasing of the assembly with short reads, long reads and linked reads from whole-genome sequencing and with short reads from 31,719 BAC clones, thereby achieving phased blocks with an N50 size of 11.6 Mb. Haplotigs assembled from single-molecule real-time reads assigned to haplotypes on phased blocks covered 89% of genes. The haplotigs accurately characterized the hypervariable major histocompatability complex region as well as demonstrating allele configuration in clinically relevant genes such as CYP2D6. This work presents the most contiguous diploid human genome assembly so far, with extensive investigation of unreported and Asian-specific structural variants, and high-quality haplotyping of clinically relevant alleles for precision medicine.</P>
