Political Attitudes of the New Social Class in China
Zhang Haidong,Deng Meiling 한국사회학회 2017 한국사회학회 사회학대회 논문집 Vol.2017 No.12
The rise and growth of a new social class in China has gradually seized the attention of the public, and has also become one of the hot topics in the academic world. Based on survey data, this paper discusses how to evaluate political attitudes of the new social class, and then compares differences in political attitudes between this new class and other social classes, and differences within this class. Five indicators, i.e. trust in government, perception of social security, consciousness of rights, identification with authority, and awareness of inequality, are adopted to measure political attitudes of this new class. The results show that compared with the middle class “inside the system,” this class has significantly lower trust in government. It shows no obvious preference for liberalism or conservatism compared with the lower middle class. And within this class, freelancing intellectuals tend to be more liberal than private employees and employers.

In this paper, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) was used as a green reductant both for thefabrication of soluble reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and the synthesis of Au nanoparticles/rGOnanocomposite. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra con¯rmed the e±cient removal of theoxygen-containing groups in graphene oxide (GO) through the reduction act of EGCG. Aunanoparticles (AuNPs) were anchored onto the rGO sheets by heating the mixed solution of rGOand chloroauric acid at 65?C using EGCG as reductant. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM), atomic force microscope (AFM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) wereemployed to characterize the resulting nanocomposite. Due to the chelating e®ect of polyhydroxyEGCG, AuNPs with diameters of ? 20 – 50 nm were stably decorated onto both sides of the rGOsheets. Because this reduction method avoids the use of toxic reagents, AuNPs/rGO nano-composite would be eco-friendly, and it might be useful not only for electronic devices but also forbiocompatible materials in the future applications.

Aluminum clad steel (ACS) sheets are heat treated by electrically assisted rapid heat treatment (subsecond duration) to balance their strength and ductility. The results of microstructural analysis show that the electric current results in the formation of different intermetallic compounds (IMCs) attributed to the rapid heating and the athermal effect of the electric current. The different IMCs affect the interfacial bonding strength and the mechanical properties of the ACS sheet. The tensile tests suggest that the yield strength of the ACS sheet gradually decreases, while the elongation gradually increases up to the current density of 170 A/mm2. In contrast, a higher current density of 190 A/mm2 dramatically increases the thickness of the IMC layer, resulting in premature fracture of the ACS sheet due to early interfacial debonding. The fracture mechanism is found to be a matrix-dominated fracture or interfacial IMC-dominated fracture depending on the applied current density. Moreover, the U-shape forming test confirms that the enhanced interfacial bonding strength and favorable formability of the ACS sheet can be achieved by repeatedly applying the electric pulses of 170 A/mm2 four times rather than using the single electric pulse of 190 A/mm2 due to the formation of a thick IMC layer under the high current density of 190 A/mm2. The present study proves that the electrically assisted rapid heat treatment is an efficient method to balance the strength and formability of the ACS sheet.

Tm3+, Dy3+ and Tm3+/Dy3+ co-doped bismuth silicate (Bi4Si3O12, BSO) crystals were successfully grown by the modified verticalBridgeman method. The crystals have about 80% transmittance in the range from 320 nm to 650 nm except several obviouscharacteristic absorption peaks corresponding to transitions of 4f electrons of Tm3+ and Dy3+. The luminescence properties forwhite light emitting diode (w-LED) were investigated. Energy transfer from the Bi3+ ions to the Tm3+ and Dy3+ ions in Tm3+or/and Dy3+ co-doped Bi4Si3O12 crystal has been established by photoluminescence investigation upon UV excitation. Whenexcited by a proper UV-light, Tm3+ doped BSO crystal shows blue emission band centered at 460 nm ascribed to Tm3+ (1D2→ 3F4), Dy3+ doped BSO crystal shows blue band at 480 nm (4F9/2→ 6H15/2), yellow band at 574 nm (4F9/2→ 6H13/2) and red bandat 662 nm (4F9/2→ 6H11/2) of Dy3+ ions. A white light with chromaticity coordinate of x = 0.3298, y = 0.2905 by excitation of357 nm is achieved from Tm3+/Dy3+ co-doped Bi4Si3O12 crystal. These results indicate that Tm3+/Dy3+ co-doped Bi4Si3O12 as awhite emitting crystal has a potential application in white-LED.

Soy isoflavones may benefit some, but not all, menopausal women, and the ability of the women to produce equol may be the major determinant of effectiveness. We assessed the efficacy of soy isoflavones and equol for alleviating menopausal symptoms, especially vasomotor symptoms, in postmenopausal women who were equol producers and nonproducers by using systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials (RCTs). We searched 12 English, Korean, and Chinese language scientific and medical databases. We selected all available RCTs that assessed the effect of equol, either equol itself or soy isoflavone in equol producers, on menopausal symptoms in peri- or postmenopausal women. The primary outcome was the effect on hot flashes. The severity of hot flashes was determined by the scores, and sensitivity and risk of bias analyses were conducted. Other outcomes of the review, but not meta-analysis, included depression and adverse events. Six studies (779 total subjects) met all criteria for the systematic review, 5 of those could be included in the meta-analysis (728 total subjects). Two studies included in the meta-analysis reported no statistically significant benefits of equol; the other three did report significant benefits of equol. Meta-analysis revealed a significant benefit of equol for lowering hot flash scores and revealed a generally low risk of bias. In conclusion, this study found that supplementing equol to equol nonproducers significantly lowered the incidence and/or severity of hot flashes in menopausal women.
Effects of Aging Time on the Antioxidant Activity of Pomelo Wine
Muying Du,Yuming You,Xiaojuan Zhao,Fusheng Zhang,Meiling Tian,Jianquan Kan 한국식품과학회 2015 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.24 No.4
Variations in amino acid and volatile component contents, and in total flavonoid, polyphenol contents and their vitro antioxidant activities at different aging times of pomelo wine were investigated; scavenging rates against DPPH, ABTS, and ferric reducing antioxidant powers were also explored. Most amino acids reached maximum values in the third aging year; and volatile components of pomelo wine also indicated good wine quality in the third year. Total flavonoid and polyphenol contents in pomelo wine were increased and antioxidant activities enhanced during the first 3 years. Samples aged for 3 years had the highest total flavonoid and total polyphenol contents, and the strongest antioxidant activities (38.23±2.16% for DPPH· scavenging effect, 91.84±4.14% for ABTS· scavenging effect, and 0.90±0.07 mmol/L for FRAP value). These parameters gradually decreased after the 3 year period. A significant (p<0.05) correlation between antioxidant activity, and total flavonoid and polyphenol contents was identified.
