This paper examines a high-speed railway CRTS-Ⅱ ballastless track-bridge system. Using the stationary potential energy theory, the mapping analytical solution between the bridge deformation and the rail vertical geometric irregularity was derived. A theoretical model (TM) considering the nonlinear stiffness of interlayer components was also proposed. By comparing with finite element model results and the measured field data, the accuracy of the TM was verified. Based on the TM, the effect of bridge deformation amplitude, girder end cantilever length, and interlayer nonlinear stiffness (fastener, cement asphalt mortar layer (CA mortar layer), extruded sheet, etc.) on the rail vertical geometric irregularity were analyzed. Results show that the rail vertical deformation extremum increases with increasing bridge deformation amplitude. The girder end cantilever length has a certain influence on the rail vertical geometric irregularity. The fastener and CA mortar layer have basically the same influence on the rail deformation amplitude. The extruded sheet and shear groove influence the rail geometric irregularity significantly, and the influence is basically the same. The influence of the shear rebar and lateral block on the rail vertical geometric irregularity could be negligible.

Ma, Xue-Lei,Xiao, Zhi-Lan,Liu, Lei,Liu, Xiao-Xiao,Nie, Wen,Li, Ping,Chen, Nian-Yong,Wei, Yu-Quan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.4
Introduction: Recent studies have shown that circulating tumor cells (CTCs) play potential roles as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers with various cancer types. The aim of this study was to comprehensively and quantitatively summarize the evidence for the use of CTCs to predict the survival outcome of lung cancer patients. Materials and Methods: Relevant literature was identified using Medline and EMBASE. Patients' clinical characteristics, overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) together with CTC positive rates at different time points (before, during and after treatment) were extracted. A meta-analysis was performed to clarify the prognostic role of CTCs and the correlation between the CTC appearance and clinical characteristics. Results: A total of 12 articles containing survival outcomes and clinical characteristics and 15 articles containing only clinical characteristics were included for the global meta-analysis. The hazard ratio (HR) for OS predicted by pro-treatment CTCs was 2.61 [1.82, 3.74], while the HR for PFS was 2.37 [1.41, 3.99]. The HR for OS predicted by post-treatment CTCs was 4.19 [2.92, 6.00], while the HR for PFS was 4.97 [3.05, 8.11]. Subgroup analyses were conducted according to histological classification and detection method. Odds ratio (OR) showed the appearance of pro-treatment CTCs correlated with the lymph node status, distant metastasis, and TNM staging, while post-treatment CTCs correlated with TNM staging only. Conclusion: Detection of CTCs in the peripheral blood indicates a poor prognosis in patients with lung cancer.

The repetitive control (RC) strategy is widely used in AC power systems because of its high performance in tracking period signal and suppressing steady-state error. However, the dynamic response of RC is determined by the fundamental period delay $T_0$ existing in the internal model. In the current study, a ($nk{\pm}i$)-order harmonic RC structure is proposed to improve dynamic performance. The proposed structure has less data memory and can improve the tracking speed by n/2 times. $T_0$ proves the effectiveness of the ($nk{\pm}i$)-order RC strategy. The simulation and experiments of ($6k{\pm}1$)-order and ($4k{\pm}1$)-order RC strategy used in the voltage source inverter is conducted in this study to control the harmonic current source, which shows the validity and advantages of the proposed structure.

$La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_{3-\delta}$ (LSCF) powders with different particle sizes, synthesized through a citrate complexation method and a gel-casting technique, are used to fabricate porous LSCF cathodes with graded microstructures via tape casting. To create porous electrodes with desired porosity and pore structures, graphite and starch are used as pore former for different layers of the graded cathode. Examination of the microstructures of the as-prepared LSCF cathode using an SEM revealed that both grain size and porosity changed gradually from the catalytically active layer (near the electrodeelectrolyte interface) to the current collection layer (near the electrode-interconnect interface). Impedance analysis showed that a 3-layer LSCF cathode with graded microstructures exhibited much-improved performance compared to that of a single-layer LSCF cathode, corresponding to interfacial resistance of 0.053, 0.11, and 0.27 $\Omega{\cdot}cm^2$ at 800, 750, and $700^{\circ}C$ respectively.

The mitochondrial control regions (CRs) and flanking sequences of Pelodiscus sinensis, Apalone ferox, Palea steindachneri and Carettochelys insculpta were obtained using Long‐PCR with gene‐specific primers. The CR lengths of the four species were 1843 bp, 1356 bp, 1725 bp, and 969 bp. The base composition percentages of A+T were 60.5%, 60.7%,65.7%, 64.7%, respectively. Combined with CR sequences of other three soft‐shelled turtles published in GenBank (Pelodiscus sinensis, Korea, AY962573; Dogania subplana,AF366350; Lissemys punctata, EF050073), we compared the CR structures and identified three functional domains (TAS,CD and CSB) in which conserved sequence blocks (TAS, CSB ‐F, CSB‐1, CSB‐2 and CSB‐3) were also successfully identified according to their sequence similarities to those of other turtles. The variable numbers of tandem repeats (VNTRs 1)with 50‐52 bp motif were identified at 5'‐end of CR among the five soft‐shelled turtles P. sinensis (China), P. sinensis (Korea), A. ferox, P. steindachneri, D. subplana. The copy number of the VNTRs varied from 5 to 15. VNTRs 2 with 2‐11 bp motif were identified in the 3'‐ end of CR among all of the six soft‐shelled turtles with variable number of motifs from 4 to 29. Moreover, VNTRs 3 with 6 bp motif were identified between CSB‐1 and CSB‐2 of CR both in P. sinensis (China) and P. sinensis (Korea), in which the number of motifs varied from 19 to 29. The types and distribution of VNTRs of the six soft‐shelled turtles were also discussed. With Alligator mississippiensis as an outgroup, combined with the CR sequences (excluding VNTRs) of other five turtles which were published in GenBank, the molecular phylogenetic trees were constructed using PAUP 4.0b10 and MrBayes ver. 3.0. The results strongly supported the monophyly of Carretochelyidae and Carettochelyidae as sister group to an assemblage of Cryptodira. Our research suggested that the earliest phylogenetic tree splits into three separated basal branches; the Pelomedusidira (Pelomedusa subrufa), the Carettochelyidae (C. insculpta), and an assemblage of Cryptodira and the C. insculpta that might be a representation of distinctive suborder.

pH-sensitive drug loaded core shellfibers were fabricated by a combination of electrospinning and UVphoto-polymerization. Combretastatin A4 (CA4) was selected as the model drug loaded in PLA to test thepH-sensitivity property of the core shellfibers. The morphology of thefibers was studied by scanningelectron microscopy (SEM), and the core shell structure of thefibers was confirmed by transmissionelectron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The drug release assay wastested via the UV–vis spectrophotometer, and the pH-sensitivity of core shellfibers was tested by drugrelease assay under pH 5.0 and 7.4.
Clenbuterol Inhibits SREBP-1c Expression by Activating CREB1
Zhou, Lei,Li, Yixing,Nie, Tao,Feng, Shengqiu,Yuan, Jihong,Chen, Huaping,Yang, Zaiqing Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biol 2007 Journal of biochemistry and molecular biology Vol.40 No.4
As a $\beta_2$-adrenergic agonist, clenbuterol decreases body fat, but the molecular mechanism underlying this process is unclear. In the present study, we treated 293T and L-02 cells with clenbuterol and found that clenbuterol downregulates SREBP-1c expression and upregulates CREB1 expression. Considering SREBP-1c has the function of regulating the transcription of several lipogenic enzymes, we considered that the downregulation of SREBP-1c is responsible for body fat reduction by clenbuterol. Many previous studies have found that clenbuterol markedly increases intracellular cAMP levels, therefore, we also investigated whether CREB1 is involved in this process. The data from our experiments indicate that CREB1 overexpression inhibits SREBP-1c transcription, and that this action is antagonized by CREB2, a competitive inhibitor of CREB1. Furthermore, since PPARs are able to repress SREBP-1c transcription, we investigated whether clenbuterol and CREB1 function via a pathway involving PPAR activation. However, our results showed that clenbuterol or CREB1 overexpression suppressed PPARs transcription in 293T and L-02 cells, which suggested that they impair SREBP-1c expression in other ways.
