<P>SPIN90/WISH (SH3 protein interacting with Nck, 90 kDa/Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein (WASP) interacting SH3 protein) regulates actin polymerization through its interaction with various actin-regulating proteins. It is highly expressed in the brain, but its role in the nervous system is largely unknown. We report that it is expressed in dendritic spines where it associates with PSD-95. Its overexpression increased the number and length of dendritic filopodia/spines via an N-WASP-independent mechanism, and knock down of its expression with small interfering RNA reduced dendritic spine density. The increase in spinogenesis is accompanied by an increase in synaptogenesis in contacting presynaptic neurons. Interestingly, PSD-95-induced dendritic spinogenesis was completely abolished by knock down of SPIN90/WISH. Finally, in response to chemically induced long-term potentiation, SPIN90/WISH associated with PSD-95 and was redistributed to dendritic spines. Our results suggest that SPIN90/WISH associates with PSD-95, and so becomes localized to dendritic spines where it modulates actin dynamics to control dendritic spinogenesis. They also raise the possibility that SPIN90/WISH is a downstream effector of PSD-95-dependent synaptic remodeling.</P>
Reliability and Validity Inquiry for Tele-assessment Based on Video Conferencing

Objective: The study examined the validity and reliability of tele-assessment of cervical range of motion (ROM) through video conferencing. Design: A cross-sectional studyMethods: The study included 22 healthy adults as subjects and 10 physical therapists as evaluators. The subjects underwent both face-to-face and tele-assessment of cervical ROM. The CROM (Cervical Range of Motion) device was used for reference measurements in the face-to-face assessment. The evaluators assessed the subjects' ROM through visual inspection (VI) and using a Universal Goniometer (UG) in the tele-assessment. Results: The results showed a significant correlation between the face-to-face and tele-assessment measurements for all ROM contents. The correlation coefficients ranged from r=0.54 to 0.71 (p<0.05), indicating concurrent validity. In terms of inter-rater reliability, the ICC values for both VI and UG assessments in the tele-assessment were high, with ICCs of 0.93 and 0.92, respectively. Additionally, the study investigated the usability of the tele-assessment method and environment. The satisfaction of the participants and evaluators was assessed using the Telehealth Usability Questionnaire (TUQ), which evaluates perceptions, usability, and satisfaction with telehealth services. Conclusions: In conclusion, tele-assessment of cervical range of motion using video conferencing was valid and reliable. Also, investigated participant and evaluator satisfaction and opinions, providing insights into the clinical value of tele-assessment. It is important to note that the study was conducted only healthy adults, and further research may be needed to validate the tele-assessment method in populations with cervical dysfunction or neck pain. These findings support the potential effectiveness of telerehabilitation services in assessing and managing musculoskeletal disorders.

Fused Deposition Manufacturing (FDM) is effective for the production of complex shapes as well as the small quantity production of various types. Generally the FDM uses thermoplastic materials, such as polylactic acid (PLA), which is environmentally friendly and has good mechanical properties at room temperature. However, PLA undergoes hydrolytic degradation in moisture environments. Thus, research on the property degradation of PLA under accelerated aging conditions is required. This study investigates the accelerated aging behavior of FDM-fabricated PLA and the decay of mechanical properties based on build orientation. Accelerated aging conditions were applied to evaluate and compare the reduction of mechanical properties in both vertical and horizontal orientations. This research provides essential insights into improving the durability of 3D-printed polymer structures, thereby enhancing the reliability and expanding the applications of 3D printing technology.

In this study, the sound pressure levels of night vision goggles and image intensifier tube were measured, and the results were used to consider their characteristics. First, literature and previous studies were investigated to identify the cause of noise in night vision goggles, and it was determined that it was caused by the auto-gating function of the image intensifier tube. The noise measurement confirmed that the noise of the image intensifier tube was not a complex tone type noise, but a tonal noise limited to 3.15 kHz. Next, the noise was subjected to a human evaluation. Consequently, 3.15 kHz tonal noise was found to be perceivable by human ears from approximately 8 dB, and because this noise occurs in the high frequency region, it is thought that there could have been complaints from soldiers. Subsequently, as a result of checking the response characteristics of the night vision goggles through the impact hammer, the natural frequency of the night vision goggles housing was approximately 1.8 kHz, which was different from the noise of the image intensifier tube. In addition, it was confirmed that there was a sound insulation effect at 3.15 kHz due to the housing of the night vision goggles; the results of this study are expected to contribute to the noise evaluation of night vision goggles in the future.
