      • 農村振興運動期における農業補習学校改変の 地域的展開と朝鮮農民の反応

        小谷稔(Kodani, Minoru) 동북아시아문화학회 2018 동북아시아문화학회 국제학술대회 발표자료집 Vol.2018 No.10

The purpose of this paper is to examine the policy of growing mainstays during the Rural Revitalization Campaign in Colonial Korea(1932-1940), with the focus on local actual condition and students’ or peasants’ reaction. From 1935, Governor-General of Korea started to utilize Agricultural Vocational Schools to develop mainstays(中堅人物、Village leader). The number of these schools increased especially from 1935 in Colonial Korea. And it’s new teaching curriculum mainly focused on heavy agricultural practical training. But in the local(Do,道) level, some Agricultural Vocational Schools had been already changed or established before 1935 to develop mainstays and the name “Agricultural Vocational School s” were often changed. Seeing students’ or peasants’ reaction, students belonged to some of these schools escaped from their dormitory, because they couldn’t put up with the heavy agricultural practical training and the daily principle. And some students did so because they wanted ordinary education in the school, however they were elected by Do(道)in expectation of becoming good mainstays. Or some peasant children (or their parents) decide not to enter these schools from the first, because they wanted to be workers of public service(Gun郡,Myeon 面), but if they entered and graduated these schools, they must stay in their home-village as mainstays and must be involved in agriculture.

Experiences in Sport, Physical Activity, and Physical Education Among Christian, Buddhist, and Hindu Asian Adolescent Girls

        Araki, Kaori,Kodani, Iku,Gupta, Nidhi,Gill, Diane L. The Korean Society for Preventive Medicine 2013 예방의학회지 Vol.46 No.suppl

Multicultural scholarship in sport and exercise psychology should help us understand and apply cultural competencies for all to be physically active. In the present study, two Asian countries, Japan and Singapore, were chosen. The participation rate for physical activities among adolescent girls tends to be lower than that of boys in both countries. Thus, the purpose of the project was to gain knowledge and understanding about sociocultural factors that may explain adolescent girls' perceptions and behaviors toward sport, physical activity, and physical education (PE). A qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews with focus groups was used to understand meanings of physical activity among Buddhist Japanese, and Hindu Indians and Christian Chinese from Singapore. Each focus group consisted of four or five girls and female researchers. Based on the analysis, we created four themes which were "cultural identities", "Asian girls and sport/physical activities", "PE experiences", "motivation for future involvement". The Buddhist Japanese, Hindu Indian, and Christian Chinese participants each reported unique physical activity experiences, and all the participants were aware of how Asian culture may affect being physically active. Experiences of PE classes were similar but perceptions of their PE attire were different for Christian Chinese and Hindu Indian adolescent girls. Based on the results, the importance of nurturing cultural competencies and ways to encourage girls to be physically active throughout life were discussed.

Isolation and identification of a new lasso peptide cattlecin from Streptomyces cattleya based on genome mining

Shogo Sugai,Mayumi Ohnishi-Kameyama,Shinya Kodani 한국응용생명화학회 2017 Applied Biological Chemistry (Appl Biol Chem) Vol.60 No.2

Lasso peptides are ribosomally synthesized and posttranslationally modified peptides with diverse biological functions. Recent genome mining has revealed that many species of actinomycetes possibly contain biosynthetic gene clusters of lasso peptides. With genome mining for lasso peptide biosynthesis, we screened several actinomycetes for lasso peptide production using high-performance liquid chromatography and electrospray ionization– mass spectrometry. Consequently, Streptomyces cattleya was identified as a producer of a new lasso peptide named cattlecin. Analysis of amino acid content on cattlecin indicated the presence of four moles each of Asp and His, three moles each of Gly and Tyr, and one mole of Ser. Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) analysis of cattlecin revealed C-terminal sequence of WHHGWYGWWDD. The peptide sequence (SYHWGDYHDWHHGWYGW WDD) was the expected amino acid sequence of cattlecin based on genome mining. As a result of MS/MS analysis, the amine residue of the first Ser was proposed to form a macrolactam ring with the b-carboxyl residue of the ninth Asp. The biosynthetic gene cluster of cattlecin comprised four genes: catA, catC, catB1, and catB2, which is typical of a lasso peptide biosynthetic gene cluster in actinomycetes.

Thermal-Variation Insensitive Force-Touch Sensing System Using Transparent Piezoelectric Thin-Film

        Kim, Min-Woo,Kim, Dong-Kyu,Kodani, Tetsuhiro,Kanemura, Takashi,Gwon, Hui-Dong,Cho, Gyu-Hyeong,Han, Kwan-Young,Kim, Hyun-Sik IEEE 2018 IEEE SENSORS JOURNAL Vol.18 No.14

<P>A force-touch (z-axis) sensor for display applications has attracted considerable attention. The z-axis sensing layer can be realized by a transparent piezoelectric thin film due to its superior characteristics, such as thinness, flexibility, and an optical transparency. However, this film responds not only to pressure but also to thermal changes (pyroelectric characteristic), which is a major obstacle to commercialization. This paper presents a thermal-variation insensitive, force-touch sensing system using a transparent piezoelectric thin film. In conjunction with optimizations in analog front-end design for high gain and high speed, the threshold-based digital processing scheme, which effectively rejects pyroelectric signals and noises, is proposed. To validate the proposed design and method, the electronic readout system board composed of analog circuits and an eight-bit microcontroller unit was implemented, and it read out the force-touch signal with a ten-bit resolution in power consumption of 6.5 mW. The implemented readout system was experimentally verified with a 3.9-inch polyvinylidene fluoride-copolymer piezoelectric thin-film sensor, with a thickness of 20 <TEX>$\mu \text{m}$</TEX>. The system achieves a force-to-signal gain of 0.6 V/N in a range of 0.3–2.5 N with high linearity. The capability to reject a pyroelectric signal up to ± <TEX>$\Delta$</TEX>10 °C/s was also proved through a thermal-shock experiment.</P>

Heterologous Production and Structure Determination of a New Lanthipeptide Sinosporapeptin Using a Cryptic Gene Cluster in an Actinobacterium Sinosporangium siamense

        Saito Keita,Mukai Keiichiro,Kaweewan Issara,Nakagawa Hiroyuki,Hosaka Takeshi,Kodani Shinya 한국미생물학회 2023 The journal of microbiology Vol.61 No.6

Lipolanthine is a subclass of lanthipeptide that has the modification of lipid moiety at the N-terminus. A cryptic biosynthetic gene cluster comprising four genes (sinA, sinKC, sinD, and sinE) involved in the biosynthesis of lipolanthine was identified in the genome of an actinobacterium Sinosporangium siamense. Heterologous coexpression of a precursor peptide coding gene sinA and lanthipeptide synthetase coding gene sinKC in the host Escherichia coli strain BL21(DE3) resulted in the synthesis of a new lanthipeptide, sinosporapeptin. It contained unusual amino acids, including one labionin and two dehydrobutyrine residues, as determined using NMR and MS analyses. Another coexpression experiment with two additional genes of decarboxylase (sinD) and N-acetyl transferase (sinE) resulted in the production of a lipolanthine-like modified sinosporapeptin.

Is glue embolization safe and effective for gastrointestinal bleeding?

        Shinsaku Yata,Yasufumi Ohuchi,Akira Adachi,Masayuki Endo,Shohei Takasugi,Kazumichi Tsukam,Kensuke Matsumoto,Mika Kodani,Jun Makishima,Shinya Fujii 소화기인터벤션의학회 2018 International journal of gastrointestinal interven Vol.7 No.3

Transcatheter arterial embolization using N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate (NBCA) for gastrointestinal arterial bleeding enables higher cessation rate and lower recurrent bleeding rate compared with conventional embolic materials including gelatin sponge, metallic coil, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) particle. Glue embolization is particularly effective in patients with coagulopathy. Even in the lower gastrointestinal tract, ischemic bowel complications by glue embolization are comparable to other agents. Glue embolization is also effective for arterial esophageal bleeding without any serious ischemic complications although the anatomy of the esophageal artery is complex and varied. For bleeding after abdominal surgery such as pancreaticoduodenectomy or hepatic lobectomy, interventional radiologists should be careful with indicating glue embolization because the presence of fewer collateral vessels can easily result in serious ischemic complications. Modified glue such as Glubran 2 (NBCA associated with methacryloxyfulfolane) can reduce the risk of ischemic complication due to its less thermal reaction, but the outcomes seem unsatisfactory.

Successful remission of ulcerative colitis flare-up during pregnancy with adsorptive granulomonocytapheresis plus tacrolimus

        Tomoyoshi Shibuya,Keiichi Haga,Masato Kamei,Koki Okahara,Shoko Ito,Masahito Takahashi,Osamu Nomura,Takashi Murakami,Masae Makino,Tomohiro Kodani,Dai Ishikawa,Naoto Sakamoto,Taro Osada,Tatsuo Ogihara,S 대한장연구학회 2018 Intestinal Research Vol.16 No.3

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is 1 of the 2 major phenotypes of chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which afflicts millions of individuals throughout the world with debilitating symptoms that impair function and quality of life. Further, IBD often affects women during childbearing age. Indeed, UC activity frequently increases during pregnancy, and the medications used to induce remission may adversely affect the health of the mother and the unborn child. We report successful induction of a remission in a UC case who experienced a flare-up in the first trimester of pregnancy. Upon relapse, she was treated with steroids and adsorptive granulomonocytapheresis (GMA) with the Adacolumn plus tacrolimus. This combination therapy induced a stable remission that was maintained during her entire pregnancy. She gave birth to a healthy child at 36 weeks of pregnancy with no maternal or fetal complications. Our experience indicates that GMA, as a non-drug therapeutic intervention with a favorable safety profile, plus tacrolimus might be a relevant treatment option for patients with active IBD during pregnancy. A future study of a large cohort of pregnant patients should strengthen our findings.
