An Automatic Tracking Method for a Moving Object using DWT coefficiens in JPEG2000
Yoshihiro Kitaura,Yuuki Taniike,Mitsuji Muneyasu 대한전자공학회 2007 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2007 No.7
Recently, a method for correspondence search between two images, which is called POC (Phase-Only Correlation) method, has been proposed. The coarse-to-fine technique based on the POC method can hierarchically search corresponding points from coarser images to finer images and it can contribute to a high accuracy and high speed tracking of the moving object. In this paper, we propose an algorithm which implements an automatic detection of the ROI region using the tracking technique based on the POC method. By applying both the coarse-to-fine technique and the space scalability in DWT, we can implement a high accurate and efficient tracking of the moving object. In the proposed method, DWT coefficients of an image which are obtained from an encoder of JPEG2000 are used for the tracking of the moving object.

Sc2C2@C82(II) and Sc2C2@C82(III) have been synthesized and chromatographically isolated and characterized by using UV-Vis-NIR absorption spectroscopy. Solid-state 13C and 45Sc NMR on Sc2C2@C82 metallofullerenes provide the rotational activation energy of Sc atoms encapsulated in C82 fullerenes which is lower than that in solution due to crystal field effects on the rate of the rotation.
Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) as nutraceuticals for exercise
( Yoshiharu Shimomura ),( Yasuyuki Kitaura ),( Juichi Sato ) 한국운동영양학회 2011 Physical Activity and Nutrition (Phys Act Nutr) Vol.15 No.3
Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs: leucine, isoleucine and valine) are essential amino acids for humans and animals. It has been shown that BCAA oxidation is promoted by exercise through activation of branched-chain α-keto acid dehydrogenase complex (BCKDC), which is a rate-limiting enzyme in the catabolic pathway of the BCAAs, and the elevated enzyme activity in skeletal muscle is quickly downregulated after exercise. This tight regulation of the BCKDC is consistent with stimulation of protein synthesis after exercise in skeletal muscle. With this background, it is interesting to consider the BCAAs as a supplement for sports. We conducted a human study to examine the effects of BCAA supplementation on the delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) induced by squatting exercises. The results clearly showed that BCAA supplementation significantly reduced DOMS evaluated by a visual analog scale method and maintained leg muscle force during the period of DOMS. Other studies using different types of exercise support our findings, suggesting that BCAA supplements are useful for conditioning of skeletal muscle after exercise.

The in°uences of synthesis parameters on the mean diameter and diameter distribution of as-grown single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) with chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using the mist °ow method have been investigated in detail with Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). We found that CVD reaction temperature and °ow rate play an essential role in controlling the mean diameter and the quality of as-grown SWCNTs. Furthermore, we found that the carbon supply kinetics can be a dominant factor to determine the diameter of as-grown SWCNTs in the present mist °ow method. Under a di®erent combination of various parameters, the mean diameter of SWCNTs can be varied from 0.9nm to 1.5nm controllably.

Electronic band structure in germanium nitride having spinel structure, γ-Ge 3 N 4 , was examined using two spectroscopictechniques, cathodoluminescence and synchrotron-based photoluminescence. The sample purity was confi rmed by x-raydiff raction and Raman analyses. The spectroscopic measurements provided fi rst experimental evidence of a large free excitonbinding energy D e ≈0.30 eV and direct interband transitions in this material. The band gap energy E g = 3.65 ± 0.05 eVmeasured with a higher precision was in agreement with that previously obtained via XES/XANES method. The screenedhybrid functional Heyd–Scuseria–Ernzerhof (HSE06) calculations of the electronic structure supported the experimentalresults. Based on the experimental data and theoretical calculations, the limiting effi ciency of the excitation conversion tolight was estimated and compared with that of w-GaN, which is the basic material of commercial light emitting diodes. Thehigh conversion effi ciency, very high hardness and rigidity combined with a thermal stability in air up to ~ 700 °C reveal thepotential of γ-Ge 3 N 4 for robust and effi cient photonic emitters.

Single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) can be well-dispersed in water by wrapping with short segments of natural DNA from salmon sperm. We report here the isolated DNA-wrapped SWNT hybrids. Measurements were carried out using UV-vis-NIR, near-infrared photoluminescence (PL) spectrum and atomic force microscopy (AFM). A possible charge transport between SWNTs and salmon-DNA is discussed in terms of observed spectral shifts in the photoluminescence spectra.
