<P>Earthworm extract has shown anticancer characteristics. In the present study, we examined the effect of chronic treatment with a high dose of earthworm (Eisenia andrei) extract (EE) on cell proliferation and neuroblast differentiation in the hippocampal dentate gyrus (DG) of 3-week-old mice using 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) and Ki-67 immunohistochemistry for cell proliferation and doublecortin (DCX) immunohistochemistry for neuroblast differentiation, respectively. BrdU-, Ki-67-, and DCX-immunoreactive cells were easily detected in the subgranular zone of the DG in vehicle (saline)-treated mice. However, BrdU-, Ki-67-, and DCX-immunoreactive cells in the 500 mg/kg EE-treated mice decreased distinctively compared to those in the vehicle-treated mice. In addition, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) immunoreactivity and its protein level decreased markedly in the DG of the EE-treated group compared to those in the vehicle-treated group. These results indicate that chronic treatment with high dose EE decreased cell proliferation and neuroblast differentiation, and that BDNF immunoreactivity decreased in the DG of EE-treated mice.</P>

응급 의료 센터내 사망 환자의 분석

We need the constitute of Emergency medical system that connect prehospital care of inhospital care effectively for optimal treatment of emergency patient. The analysis of actual condition of our emergency medical system, through study of mortality case in emergency medical center will be a aid to the constitute. The authors performed a review on the records of 60 cases who died in Ajou university Emergency medical center during management, since June 1994 to september 1995. Among the 60 patient, 72% were male and 28% were female. In nontrauma patient, 6th decade was many, in trauma patients, 3rd and 5th decade was many. Among the 60 patient, 33% were traumatic cases, 66% were nontraumatic cases. Among the traumatic patients, more than half of the cases were due to motor vehicle accidents. The most frequent time interval from onset of emergent situation to arreving at emergency center was more than 2 hours. The most common transfer method was by 119 ambulance. In most cases, prehospital treatments were not taken. In most cases, initial mental status was comatose, and systolic blood pressure was less than 60 mmHg. Most cardiovascular resuscitation was done in 30 min. to an hour. In cases as traffic accident of ischemic heart disease, where rapid transportation of the patient is critical for the patient's survival, however, in most cases it took more than two hours to bring such patients to hospital, and first aid treatment before arrival to hospital was rare. No prehospital treatment was done to nearly all patient. In many cases the patient was already in under coma or shock state. The inhospital care at emergency center was made relatively quickly and adequately. The mean duration of cardiopulmonary resustation was 30min to one hour. From this study, we could notice the poor quality of prehospital care in the region ,near Ajou university hospital, and we came to know that the improvement of quality of prehospital care was the most important factor to reduce the motality of emergency department patient. that is, in the treatment of emergency patients, weak points has been revealed in the pre-hospital treatment, the improvement of which is important factor for the survival of emergency patients.

The method that I'd like to take is an on-the-spot investigation. The distributors of survey are consumers, retailers, wholesalers and the agricultural producing centers. The differentiated commodities of survey are a sort of fruits and fruit- vegetables. And the agricultural product differentiation means of survey are improvement of breeds. organic goods, cold-chain and convenient commodities.

관광개발 관련 계획의 평가에 관한 연구 : 제주도를 중심으로

This study was planned in order to better understand the necessity of evaluating the existing tourism development plans in Korea. The goal underlying this study was to suggest a conceptual framework for evaluating the tourism development plans. A framework was constructed through a comprehensive literature survey which included a review of relevant published and unpublished literature. A trail application of the framework was used to evaluate tourism development plans in Cheju Island, Korea, as a case study. The existing development plans in Cheju Island were evaluated based on effectiveness and responsiveness of the plans. For evaluating effectiveness, how much proposed goals in the plans are accomplished was analyzed from review of administrative data. Responsiveness, as the responses of accepters, was analyzed through questionnaire surveys from tourists and local residents and expert opinion by the storming process. As the results, the targeted levels of proposed goals were evaluated at the low performance level. In addition, satisfaction levels of tourists and local residents was also evaluated at the relatively low level. Panel experts in this study suggested problems and limitations on the contents, structure, and its application process of existing tourism development plans. Thus, there are needed to introduce the official evaluation processes in order to improve effectiveness of the development plans. This study was only a first step for resolving issues related to evaluation of the tourism development plans. The approach in this study should be refined through further empirical testing.

카르복시 폴리술폰 아이오노머의 기계적 성질

The dynamic mechanical properties of carboxylated polysulfone ionomers were studied by using DMTA. It was found that at 25 mol% of ions, the ionomer shows two glass transitions: one at ca. 200 ℃ and the other at ca. 235 ℃. It was also found that with increasing an ion content to ca. 37 mol%, a matrix T_(g) shifts to ca. 210 ℃, but a cluster T_(g) remains at the same temperature; however, the sizes of tan δ peaks for each transitions do not change with the ion content. This result means that even at those high ion contents, there is sufficient amount of a unclustered material in the samples, and the increase in the ion content does not increase the volume fraction of a cluster phase. In addition, the difference in two T_(g)s of this ionomer system was found to be ca. 40 ℃, which is smaller than that in poly(styrene-co-methacrylate) ionomer system. This finding implies that in the polysulfone ionomers weak ionic interactions in a multiplet resulting from steric hindrance due to the bulkiness of benzene ring to which the ionic group is attached and the tension on polymer chains surrounding the multiplet due to chain rigidity affect the size and stability of the multiplet significantly.
