We have studied(??) reactions from an emulsion target. The S--2H dibaryon has been searched for by the analysis of the ??? momentum spectrum together with emulsion data. No evidence of H production was observed in the mass range of 1.90-2.16 GeV/c². Upper limits for the production cross section of the H are (0.2-0.6)% of that for the quasifree ??? production at the 90% confidence level.

K. Mizushima,E. Takeshita,T. Furukawa,Y. Hara,T. Shirai,K. Katagiri,K. Noda 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.7
A two-dimensional (2D) beam imaging system with a fluorescent intensifying screen and highspeedcharge-coupled device (CCD) camera was developed to observe the fluctuations of the beamposition and size. This system can perform imaging of the beam spot and the calculation of bothits position and size from the obtained image with a cycle-time of 20 ms. For quality assurance ofscanned carbon-ion therapy, we measured the stability of the unscanned-beam position and size byusing this system at the isocenter in a treatment room. We confirmed that the fluctuation rangesof its position and size were less than the tolerance for scanning irradiation.
Prompt Gamma Rays Emitted from the Neutron Capture Reaction of ^(74)Ge
K. Y. Hara 한국물리학회 2011 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.59 No.23
The decay scheme of ^(75)Ge in the ^(74)Ge(n,γ) reaction has been studied. Multiple prompt gamma rays emitted from the ^(74)Ge(n_(cold),γ)^(75)Ge reaction were measured with a germanium gamma-ray spectrometer at the Japan Research Reactor (JRR-3) of JAEA. Many unknown γ-ray transitions, in addition to the known ones, were seen in the energy spectrum. 14 new levels and 35 new γ-ray transitions of ^(75)Ge are reported.

A two-dimensional dosimetry system was developed for the quality assurance (QA) of therapeuticscanned ion beams at Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator in Chiba (HIMAC). This system consists of afluorescent screen and a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera. To evaluate the performance of thissystem, we carried out a few experiments concerning QA procedures. A verification of this systemwas also carried out by comparing the film dosimetry and the ionization chamber array. Also, weverified several types of corrections for errors, e.g., background and vignetting, that distort themeasurement results. As a result, we confirmed that this system could be used for QA proceduresof the therapeutic scanned ion beams.
Adjustment Procedure for Beam Alignment in Scanned Ion-Beam Therapy
Y. Saraya,E. Takeshita,T. Furukawa,Y. Hara,K. Mizushima,N. Saotome,R. Tansho,T. Shirai,K. Noda 한국물리학회 2016 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.69 No.6
Control of the beam position for three-dimensional pencil-beam scanning is important because the position accuracy of the beam significantly impacts the alignment of the irradiation field. To suppress this effect, we have developed a simple procedure for beamline tuning. At first, beamline tuning is performed with steering magnets and fluorescent screen monitors to converge the beam’s trajectory to a central orbit. Misalignment between the beam’s position and the reference axis is checked by using the verification system, which consists of a screen monitor and an acrylic phantom. If the beam position deviates from the reference axis, two pairs of steering magnets, which are placed on downstream of the beam transport line, will be corrected. These adjustments are iterated until the deviations for eleven energies of the beam are within 0.5 mm of the reference axis. To demonstrate the success of our procedure, we used our procedure to perform beam commissioning at the Kanagawa Cancer Center.

Background: Factors predictive of survival have been identified in Western patients with metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (mCCRCC) treated with sunitinib. Less is known, however, about factors predictive of survival in Japanese patients. This study evaluated factors prognostic of survival in Japanese patients with mCCRCC treated with first-line sunitinib. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study evaluated 46 consecutive Japanese mCCRCC patients treated with sunitinib as first line therapy. Clinical and biochemical markers associated with progression-free survival (PFS) were analyzed, with prognostic factors selected by uniand multivariate Cox regression analyses. Results: Univariate analysis showed that factors significantly associated with poor PFS included Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center poor risk scores, International Metastatic RCC Database Consortium poor risk and high (>0.5 mg/dl) serum C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations (p<0.001 each). Multivariate analysis showed that high serum CRP was independently associated with poorer PFS (p=0.040). Six month disease control rate (complete response, partial response and stable disease) in response to sunitinib was significantly higher in patients with normal (${\leq}0.5mg/dl$) than elevated baseline CRP (p<0.001). Conclusions: CRP is a significant independent predictor of PFS for Japanese patients with mCCRCC treated with first-line sunitinib. Pretreatment CRP concentration may be a useful biomarker predicting response to sunitinib treatment.
Design of the Advanced Metadata Service System with AMGA for the Belle II Experiment

The Belle II experiment is expected to produce 50 times more data than the existing Belle experiment. Such huge data production requires not only scalability with respect to the storage service but also scalability regarding the metadata service. There has already been a metadata service at the Belle experiment, but it is not proper for the Belle II experiment because it has scalability problems and it is not intended to be used in a distributed grid environment. To deal with these issues, we designed an advanced metadata service system based on AMGA, which provides efficient and scalable metadata searching. We have built testbed sites to test the correctness, performance and scalability of the advanced metadata service system, and it has been proved to be able to provide efficient metadata searching for the Belle II experiment.
