        Eight monitoring stations in the Yeosu National Industrial Complex will determine the concentration of air pollutants measured every hour in 2019, analyze what factors affect them, and how they correlate with the air pollutant measurements. Six air pollutants (SO2, NO2, O3, CO, PM-10 and PM-2.5) measured at eight monitoring stations around Yeosu National Industrial Complex (Seogang-dong, Wolnae-dong, Munsu-dong, Yeocheon-dong, Deokchung-dong, Hwayang-myeon, Yulchon-myeon, Samil-dong) the measurement data for each hour of the year were downloaded to analyze the concentration by weather condition, time zone, season, separation distance from Yeosu Industrial Complex, and separation distance from Gwangyang Industrial Complex. SO2, NO2, and CO concentrations were significantly higher in winter, significantly lower in summer, and O3, PM-10, and PM-2.5 concentrations were significantly higher in spring. SO2, CO, PM-10, and PM-2.5 concentrations were significantly higher between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., NO2 concentrations were significantly higher between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and O3 concentrations were significantly higher between 13 p.m. and 15 p.m.(p<0.001). The concentration of air pollutants (SO2, NO2, CO, PM-10, PM-2.5) excluding O3 was found to have a negative (-) correlation with weather condition, and in the case of O3, it was found to have a positive (+) correlation with PM-10, PM-2.5, temperature and wind speed. It was confirmed that the concentration of air pollutants emitted from the Yeosu National Industrial Complex differs depending on the season, time and distance to the industrial complex. This study aims to establish measures to minimize health damage to residents living relatively close to the industrial complex and contribute to the establishment of management and response measures according to the properties of substances to reduce the concentration of air pollutants in the future.

        韓國産 紅花子와 中國産 紅花子가 鎭痛 , 消炎 및 關節炎에 미치는 效果

        This experimental study was done to compare the efficacy of Korean and Chinese Carthami Semen on analgesic effect and remedy of inflammation and arthritis. The results were as follows; 1. In analgesic action on the writhing syndrome in mice induced by 0.7% acetic acid, Korean and Chinese Carthami Semen extract group showed significant decrease in comparison with control group. And in analgesic action on the writhing syndrome in mice induced by Acetylcholine HC1, Korean and chinese Carthami Semen extract group showed significant decrease in comparison with control group. 2. In Anti-inflammatory effects, Chinese Carthami Semen extract group showed significant decrease at 150 and 180 minutes after inducing paw-edema in comparison with control group. 3. In the method of adjuvant arthritis, orally administered for 21 days, Korean Carthami Semen extract group showed significant inhibition of the hind paw edema after 1 day and 21 days. Whereas Chinese Carthami Semen extract group showed some reduction, but the results didn's show significant decrease. 4. In the level of leucocytes count, Korean and Chinese Carthami Semen extract group showed significant decrease in comparison with control group. And in the level of total protein. CRP and glucose, Korean and Chinese Carthami Semen extract group didn't showed significant change in comparison with control group.

        Carbon materials, disordered carbon and KS6(graphite, Lonza), were studied as anode materials of lithium ion secondary battery. The disordered carbons were made from thermosetting resins (phenol resin, furan resin, acetylene resin and its mixed resin). The resins were carbonized in nitrogen gas at 1000℃. When the thermosetting resins were carbonized, an addition of lithium hydroxide improved capacity and cycle life, but decreased the efficiency of the first charge/discharge. Also, in this study, the capacity of the carbon from phenol resin was higher than that of the carbon from acetylene resin or furan resin. But, the carbon from mixed resin was the highest capacity of all the synthetic carbons.

        人蔘이 卵巢摘出로 誘發된 흰쥐의 骨多孔症 예방에 미치는 효능

        Objectives : The present study has been undertaken to investigate the effects of Ginseng Radix on prevention of osteoporosis in ovariectomized rats. Methods : In this experiment, the rats were ovariectomized. Rats were administered by 2 kinds of medicine, Estradiol, Ginseng Radix. The levels of bone mineral density, osteocalcin, ALP, phosphorus, calcium in serum, deoxypyridinoline in urine, calcium, phosphorus, ash weight of bone, body weight and uterus weight were measured. Results : The levels of spinal bone mineral density was significantly increased in comparison with OVX group at 8 weeks in Ginseng Radix group. The levels of serum didn t show significant change in comparison with OVX group in Ginseng Radix group. The levels of urine deoxypyridinoline showed significant decrease in comparison with OVX group in Ginseng Radix group. The levels of femoral and fibula-tibial ash weight didn t show significant increase in comparison with OVX group in Ginseng Radix group. The levels of femoral and fibula-tibial calcium showed significant increase in comparison with OVX group in Ginseng Radix group. The levels of femoral and fibula-tibial phosphorus showed significant increase in comparison with OVX group in Ginseng Radix group. The levels of body weight didn t show significant changes in comparison with OVX group in Ginseng Radix group. The levels of uterus weight didn t show significant changes in comparison with OVX group in Ginseng Radix group. Conclusions : Reviewing these experimetal results, it appears that Ginseng Radix have efficacy on prevention of osteoporosis. And further study should be conducted to illustrate in depth the curing and prevention of osteoprosis.

        복합레진의 표면 광택에 대한 평가

        Composite resins, commonly used in clinical practice, have been developed to improve aesthetics to obtain smooth surfaces. Although the restored composite resin has a smooth surface, it gradually becomes rough over time. Therefore, this study measured glossiness to evaluate the surface of various composite resins and attempted to evaluate the maintenance of glossiness of composite resins by observing surfaces that change to roughness. Specimens were produced using resin used in clinical practice: Gradia direct anterior (GA), Tetric N–Ceram (TN), Ceram.X Sphere TEC one (CX), Filtek Z350XT (FT), Estelite sigma quick (ES). After creating a smooth surface with slide glass, five locations were randomly selected to measure surface gloss, and the average was the representative value of the specimen. Roughness was applied to the specimen under water pouring at the same speed and pressure using SiC paper #2400, 1200, and 400. The gloss unit of different SiC papers was measured. To evaluate the gloss unit and gloss retention between composite resins, one-way analysis of variance and Tukey multiple comparisons test were used. As a result of the study, there was a difference in gloss unit of specimens produced under the same conditions. Although the degree differed depending on the composite resin, there was also a difference in gloss retention. Based on the findings, composite resins show differences in gloss due to their different characteristics. Ceram.X Sphere TEC one (CX) showing the lowest gloss retention and Estelite sigma quick (ES) showing the highest.

        An Improved Non-parametric Bayesian Independence Test for Probabilistic Learning of the Dependence Structure Among Continuous Random Variables

        <P>Probabilistic analysis of real-world complex systems such as civil infrastructures requires an effective identification of dependence among the input random variables. The correct modelling of such dependence is crucial for the accuracy and efficiency of a probabilistic assessment and decision-support. In particular, deciding if a pair of random variables is independent is an important step, and several methodologies have been developed for this task. The non-parametric Bayesian independence test is noteworthy among these, since it can deal with data sets whose distributions are unknown and it provides posterior probabilities of independence, which can be helpful in decision making. This paper first summarizes the general procedure of the nonparametric Bayesian independence test, and then examines the application of various types of non-informative priors - uniform, Jeffreys' and reference priors - from both the theoretical and numerical viewpoint. In the end, the reference prior is recommended as the most suitable prior distribution for the purpose of Bayesian independence test. Furthermore, efficient and accurate discretization algorithms are proposed to facilitate a non-parametric Bayesian independence test of continuous random variables. Five numerical examples are studied to test the validity of the priors, and demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed test algorithms.       • Matrix-based Bayesian Network for efficient memory storage and flexible inference

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>For real-world civil infrastructure systems that consist of a large number of functionally and statistically dependent components, such as transportation systems or water distribution networks, the Bayesian Network (BN) can be a powerful tool for probabilistic inference. In a BN, the statistical relationship between multiple random variables (r.v.’s) is modeled through a directed acyclic graph. The complexity of inference in the BN depends not only on the number of r.v.’s, but also the graphical structure. As a consequence, the application of standard BN techniques may become infeasible even with a moderate number of r.v.’s as the size of an event set exponentially increases with the number of r.v.’s. Moreover, when the exhaustive set that is required for full quantification of a discrete BN node becomes intractably large, only approximate inference algorithms are feasible, which do not require the full (explicit) description of all BN nodes. We address both issues in discrete BNs by proposing a matrix-based Bayesian Network (MBN) that facilitates efficient modeling of joint probability mass functions and flexible inference. The MBN is developed for exact as well as approximate BN inference. The efficiency and applicability of the MBN are demonstrated by numerical examples.
