The purpose of this study was to examine the perception and preference of skiers in a bid to provide ski resorts with useful information about successful positioning strategy. The subjects in this study were 9,722 skiers who purchased season tickets from N web site that sold ski season tickets. Their online purchasing route and page view were analyzed to find out what factors affected their purchase of ski season tickets. The findings of this study were as follows: First, 78 percent of the people investigated were make, and 22 percent were female. By age, the largest group was in their 20s(5,344 skiers), followed by those in their 30s(3,434), those in their 40s(631) and teenagers(229). Second, their page view rate with Yangji recorded highest with 24%, followed by Sungwoo Resort with 23% and Chonmasan with 13 percent. Third, by geographic area, the skiers from southern Gyeonggi province bought the largest number of tickets for the 2002/2003 season, followed by Gangweon province residents and northem Gyeonggi province dwellers. In the case of the 2003/2004 season, those from Gangweon provinece pruchased the most tickets, followed by southern Gyeonggi province dwellers and north Gyeonggi province residents.
고등학교 생물 11 교과서의 ‘생명공학’ 내용에 관한 연구

본 연구는 제 7차 교육과정에 따른 고등학교 생물Ⅱ 교과서에 수록된 생명공학 관련 단원의 내용과 구성의 체제를 분석하고,6차 교과서와의 연계성과 탐구영역 등을 비교 하였다. 또한 단원의 내용의 분석을 통해서 생명공학의 응용분야, 문제점과 차후 발전상, 연계성, STS 내용면,기타 오개념 등의 문제점들을 논의 하였다. This study was carried out to analyze the organization and contents of the biotechnology related chapter in high school Biology II of 7th Science Educational Curriculum. Especially the characteristics of connection, the inquiry activities between sixth and seventh textbook were comparatively analyzed. And also based on the analysis of this chapter, it introduces an applications and development of biotechnology in the future, the problems of biotechnology, the connections, STS contents and the problems of misconception were discussed.
상업스포츠 참가자의 사회경제적 배경과 사회관계 만족 및 관계지속의사의 관계

This study was to analysis a relationship between socio-economic characteristics, social relation satisfaction, and the adherence of social relation at the commercial sports centers. To attain the goal of the study described above paragraphs, some members of commercial sports center held in Seoul were set as a collected group. Then, using the cluster random sampling method, finally drew out and analyzed 713 people in total The material collection device was the brochure named <the survey on socio-economic characteristics, social relation satisfaction, and the adherence of social relation at the commercial sports centers>. The result of reliability check up was here below; social interaction, Chronbach' α=.840~.915, the satisfaction according to social relation, α=.787, the adherence of social relation α=.847. To analyze materials, factor analysis, reliability analysis, oneway-ANOVA, multiple-regression were used as statistic analysis techniques. The conclusion based on above study method and the result of material analysis are here below. First, it is found that there is a significant difference in satisfaction according to social relation. Second, it is found that there is a significant difference in the adherence of social relation. Third, the satisfaction according to social relation influences on the adherence of social relation.
New Korean Ginseng Cultivar ‘Cheonmyeong’ with High Yield and Rusty Root Tolerance

In 2008, a new Panax ginseng (ginseng) cultivar, ‘Cheonmyeong’, was bred by pure-line selection for tolerance to physiological disorders using a genetic resource collected from the farm race field, Buyeo, Chungnam, Korea. In 2019, ‘Cheonmyeong’ was registered as a new breed by the Korea Seed and Varieties Service (grant number 7467) and accorded plant breeders’ rights. ‘Cheonmyeong’ has a yellowish orange pericarp, which has not been previously reported. ‘Cheonmyeong’ sprouted and flowered 2 days earlier than the control cultivar ‘Chunpoong’, and its fruit-ripening period occurred 3 days earlier. ‘Cheonmyeong’ had 1.5-fold more stems per plant than ‘Chunpoong’. ‘Cheonmyeong’ plants were characterized by a lower occurrence of rusty root disease, and had approximately 28% higher 4-year-old root yields (571.8 ± 99.7 kg·10a<SUP>-1</SUP>) than those of the rusty root-tolerant ‘Chunpoong’ (444.1 ± 110.4 kg·10a<SUP>-1</SUP>). The total ginsenoside content of ‘Cheonmyeong’ (31.70 ± 1.83 mg·g<SUP>-1</SUP>) was higher than that of ‘Chunpoong’ (26.62 ± 1.60 mg·g<SUP>-1</SUP>). Concentrations of the ginsenosides Rg1 (which improves human memory and learning), Rf (which is effective for neuronal oscillation), and Rc (which has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects) were higher in ‘Cheonmyeong’ than in ‘Chunpoong’. ‘Cheonmyeong’ is likely to have strong tolerance against physiological disorders, ensuring reliable production of ginseng, even in response to changes in the cultivation environment.
Modulation of Nrf2/ARE and Inflammatory Signaling Pathways by Hericium erinaceus Mycelia Extract

Hericium erinaceus is an edible mushroom used as a medicinal food in Asian countries. In this study, the chemopreventive effects of H. erinaceus mycelia hot water extract (HEW) were evaluated. HEW remarkably induced the luciferase activity of the antioxidant response element (ARE), located in the promoter region of phase 2 and antioxidant genes and regulated by nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2). The up-regulation of ARE activity by HEW corresponded with the induction of Nrf2 and the antioxidant enzyme, hemeoxygenase-1. The inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) activity is a promising effective approach in cancer chemoprevention, and HEW prominently suppressed COX-2 protein expression in HepG2 cells. Furthermore, HEW showed anti-inflammatory activity by modulating inflammatory mediators such as nitric oxide (NO), inducible NO synthase, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, and the transcription factor, nuclear factor-κB, in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. These results suggest that H. erinaceus possessed anti-tumor and antiinflammatory effects via the modulation of Nrf2/ARE and inflammatory signaling pathways, and may therefore have potential use as a natural chemopreventive agent.

<P>Conclusion We developed an easy-to-use prognostic model with three sncRNAs as robust prognostic markers for postoperative recurrence of ESCC. We anticipate that such a stratified and systematic, tumour-specific biological approach will potentially contribute to significant improvement in ESCC treatment.</P>
Mesenchymal Stem Cells Decrease Oxidative Stress in the Bowels of Interleukin-10 Knockout Mice

Background/Aims: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation mainly in the large intestine. The interleukin-10 knockout (IL-10 KO) mouse is a well-known animal model of IBD that develops spontaneous intestinal inflammation resembling Crohn’s disease. Oxidative stress is considered to be the leading cause of cell and tissue damage. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) can cause direct cell injury and/or indirect cell injury by inducing the secretion of cytokines from damaged cells. This study evaluated the effects of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) on the progression of IBD. Methods: In this study, human bone marrow-derived MSCs were injected into IL-10 KO mice (MSC). Oxidative stress and inflammation levels were evaluated in the large intestine and compared with those in control IL-10 KO mice (CON) and normal wild-type control mice (Wild). Results: The levels of ROS (superoxide and hydrogen peroxidase) and a secondary end-product of lipid peroxidation (malondialdehyde) were considerably higher in the CON, while superoxide dismutase and catalase levels were lower in the MSC. Inflammation-related marker (interferon-γ, tumor necrosis factor-α, IL-4, and CD8) expression and inflammatory histological changes were much less pronounced in MSC than in CON. Conclusions: MSCs affect the redox balance, leading to the suppression of IBD.
