Development of digitized evaluation methods for fabric shrinkage and damage using image analysis

The aim of this study is to develop digitalized evaluation methods for fabric shrinkage and damage using image analysis. To develop the shrinkage assessment method, 81 grid dots (nine horizontal lines and nine vertical lines) are introduced into the test fabric. This allows the shrinkage to be verified based on the change in distance between neighboring dots, which not only presents the shrinkage in the warp and weft directions, but also the area shrinkage and skewness. The developed evaluation method yields a value that differs from the actual measured value by less than 1 mm, which confirms its significance. To develop a damage evaluation method using the Original Danish MA test fabric, the change in area caused by loosening threads in five holes is evaluated. The area change in the developed method and the number of loosened threads in the conventional method has a high correlation. Comparing the number of dots in the Poka-Dot test fabric before and after washing enables one to distinguish incorrectly created dots during the manufacturing process and to accurately measure the number of missing dots such that the result is similar to the actual measurement. The accuracy and reproducibility of the developed measurement method are confirmed using various verification such as error rate, washing cycle, and washing time. Digitizing the evaluation method can contribute to the digital transformation of apparel quality evaluation by reducing labor and errors between evaluators.
Development of a test method for the dynamic drapability of fabrics using reciprocating motion

This study aimed to develop a method for measuring the dynamic drapability of fabrics using a reciprocating motion device that mimics the movement created by shaking a piece of fabric. Five types of fabrics were selected based on their drape coefficients and weights, and the lengths of fabrics were determined based on skirt length (50 cm) and dress length (100 cm). The width and speed of the reciprocating motion were considered as the experimental variables. Results of reciprocating motion-based fabric movement analysis revealed that the number of nodes, the position of the first node, amplitude, total length, and area are significant factors for measuring dynamic drapability. It was found that the longer fabrics had more nodes, enabling measurement of various types of fabrics. Furthermore, it was found that a wider reciprocation width under the same speed and a faster reciprocation speed with the same width favorably demonstrated dynamic drapability, resulting in proportionality between the reciprocating motion and the force transmitted to the fabric. Movement analysis of seven selected conditions and additional samples showed that the optimal condition was a 100-mm reciprocation width and a 150-rpm speed and that the first node’s position is the most significant factor for a dynamic drapability. To verify the proposed measurement method, measuring four pairs of fabrics with similar drape coefficients but different shapes showed that as fabric weight increased, the node moved downward, despite similar drape coefficient values. This confirms that the proposed method can overcome the limitations of the existing drape coefficient.

The interaction of mating pheromone and pheromone receptor from the B mating-type locus is the first step in the activation of the mushroom mating signal transduction pathway. The B mating-type locus of Lentinula edodes is composed of Bα and Bb subloci, each of which contains genes for mating pheromone and pheromone receptor. Allelic variations in both subloci generate multiple B mating-types through which L. edodes maintains genetic diversity. In addition to the B mating-type locus, our genomic sequence analysis revealed the presence of a novel chromosomal locus 43.3 kb away from the B mating-type locus, containing genes for a pair of mating pheromones (PHBN1 and PHBN2) and a pheromone receptor (RCBN). The new locus (Bα-N) was homologous to the Bα sublocus, but unlike the multiallelic Bα sublocus, it was highly conserved across the wild and cultivated strains. The interactions of RcbN with various mating pheromones from the B and Bα-N mating-type loci were investigated using yeast model that replaced endogenous yeast mating pheromone receptor STE2 with RCBN. The yeast mating signal transduction pathway was only activated in the presence of PHBN1 or PHBN2 in the RcbN producing yeast, indicating that RcbN interacts with self-pheromones (PHBN1 and PHBN2), not with pheromones from the B matingtype locus. The biological function of the Bα-N locus was suggested to control the expression of A mating-type genes, as evidenced by the increased expression of two A-genes HD1 and HD2 upon the treatment of synthetic PHBN1 and PHBN2 peptides to the monokaryotic strain of L. edodes.
Testosterone Stimulates Duox1 Activity through GPRC6A in Skin Keratinocytes

<P>Testosterone is an endocrine hormone with functions in reproductive organs, anabolic events, and skin homeostasis. We report here that GPRC6A serves as a sensor and mediator of the rapid action of testosterone in epidermal keratinocytes. The silencing of GPRC6A inhibited testosterone-induced intracellular calcium ([Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>]<I><SUB>i</SUB></I>) mobilization and H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> generation. These results indicated that a testosterone-GPRC6A complex is required for activation of G<SUB>q</SUB> protein, IP<SUB>3</SUB> generation, and [Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>]<I><SUB>i</SUB></I> mobilization, leading to Duox1 activation. H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> generation by testosterone stimulated the apoptosis of keratinocytes through the activation of caspase-3. The application of testosterone into three-dimensional skin equivalents increased the apoptosis of keratinocytes between the granular and stratified corneum layers. These results support an understanding of the molecular mechanism of testosterone-dependent apoptosis in which testosterone stimulates H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> generation through the activation of Duox1.</P>

Seasonal variation in catch-per-unit-effort (CPUE), species composition and size frequency distribution of major fish were analyzed by gill net, trap net, and long line in the Korean coastal area of Go-heung in 2016. The dominant fish species were Portunus trituberculatus in gill nets, Charybdis japonica in trap nets and Muraenesox cinereus in long lines. Seasonal catch was the most in July and was the least in March. Catch by fishing gear was the highest in gill net and was the lowest in long line. The dominant species are similar to seasonal biological properties. Species compositions did not vary greatly by season.

클라우드 서비스는 사용자에게 데이터 저장, 공유, 다운로드 등을 용이하게 해주는 성질과 시, 공간적 특성과 관계없이 사용할 수 있는 특성으로 최근 IT 산업에서 많이 사용되고 있다. 그러나 서버가 공격당할 경우 데이터와 사용자 개인 정보를 포함한 민감 정보가 유출되는 등 다양한 범죄에 노출되어 있다. 이러한 이유로 클라우드의 포렌식 분석 필요성이 증가하였으며, 현재 많이 상용화되어 있는 응용 프로그램에 대해서는 많은 연구가 진행되었다. 본 논문에서는 Box 클라우드에 대해 포렌식 분석을 진행하고 수집한 아티팩트에 관해 설명한다.
