변재경,박순희,정수정 韓國舞踊敎育學會 2008 韓國舞踊敎育學會誌 Vol.19 No.1
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of 12 week dance program on physical fitness and body composition in female elementary school students. A 12 week dance program was applied to total 26 female students (experimental group: 13 persons, control: 13 persons) at Grade 5 and 6 of S elementary school(C city), who had never joined such program(3 times a week, 60 minutes/lesson). To examine the effects of program, this study analyzed the resultant data using 1X2 mixed design two-way ANOVA, and examined post-comparison between groups and between measurement timings by means of independent and corresponding sample t-test. The results are as follows. First, in terms of physical fitness, it was found that experimental group showed more significant improvement in power and muscular endurance than control on statistic level(p<.001), as well as in flexibility(p<.05). But there was not any significant difference between these 2 groups in speed and cardiovascular endurance. Second, in terms of body composition, it was found that experimental group showed more significant improvement in LBM than the control on statistical level(p<.01), as well as in BMI(p<.05). However, experimental group showed more or less reduction of body fat ratio before and after program, but there was no significant difference on statistical level. Summing up, it is found that the 12 week dance program helps female elementary school students improve their power, muscular endurance and flexibility, and also has positive effects on improving LBM and BMI as body composition factors.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are capable of differentiating into mesenchymal tissue such as bone, cartilage, muscle, and adipose, and have been isolated and characterized from various species. Deer adipose tissue-derived MSCs (dAD-MSCs) have not been studied and deer bone marrow-derived MSCs (dBM-MSCs) have not been fully characterized. In this study, we firstly isolated MSCs from deer tissues and then compared characteristics of dAD-MSCs and dBM-MSCs. dAD-MSCs and dBM-MSCs exhibited significant increase in proliferation under low-glucose DMEM culture condition during 20 and 10 passages consecutive passages, respectively. Both cells expressed cell surface markers such as CD73, CD90, and CD105, but did not express CD34 and CD45. Two types of cells expressed stemness markers (Oct4, Sox2, and Nanog) and exhibited differentiation potential into mesodermal lineages. Both cells exhibited osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation potential, but poor adipogenic differentiation potential. Specifically, dAD-MSCs have a greater capacity for chondrogenic differentiation potential compared to dBM-MSCs. Collectively, we successfully isolated dAD-MSCs from deer for the first time. This study suggests that adipose tissue of deer could be used as a source of deer MSCs.

Future Perspectives of Sustainable Manufacturing and Applications based on Research Databases
Yoon, Hae-Sung,Kim, Min-Soo,Jang, Ki-Hwan,Ahn, Sung-Hoon Korean Society for Precision Engineering 2016 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.17 No.9
Recent legislation and initiatives have precipitated a considerable shift toward sustainable development. Accordingly, studies into green manufacturing and applications have been conducted by numerous researchers. In this review, future perspectives of sustainable manufacturing and applications are evaluated and analyzed based on research databases. More specifically, the current status and historical trajectory of selected research areas are evaluated using data from the Web of Science library and the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). State-of-the-art sustainable manufacturing research is presented, and related journals are discussed according to research area. Selected journals and research subjects are assessed in terms of H-indices and the number of published articles, to evaluate the attention paid to, and importance of, each subject. To further the discussion on future perspectives, the historical trajectories of the research areas are explored. For example, technologies described in a greener machine tool review article were classified according to a technology hierarchy, and their historical changes were evaluated. Selected journals and subjects were matched to categorical hierarchies, and the development stages were assessed based on a four-stage model (early, emerging, developed, and saturated stages). The results showed that sustainable manufacturing and applications have dramatically emerged in the last decade. In this review, insights are provided into the status and future of sustainable technologies through the suggestion of evaluation methods and provision of examples.

The pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis is complicated and both the genetic and environmental factors contribute to its development. Familial occurrence is an example indicating that both the genetic and environmental factors play some parts in the development of ulcerative colitis because family members have similar genetic characteristics and have been exposed to similar environment. Familial ulcerative colitis is observed in about 10% to 20% of patients. Most such families contain only 2 affected members and families containing more than 2 affected members are relatively rare. We experienced a case of familial ulcerative colitis in which all 4 members (both spouses and their 2 sons) were affected. They had lived together for 29 years before all 4 members were affected. The first patient was diagnosed after 14 years of cohabitation and the rest were affected 13, 14, and 15 years after the first diagnosis. We report this case with a review of literature. <P>These findings demonstrate the efficacy of a novel, selective, two-in-one delivery system to overcome chemoresistance in epithelial ovarian cancer.</P><P>Chemotherapy is commonly used in the treatment of ovarian cancer, yet most ovarian cancers harbor inherent resistance or develop acquired resistance. Therefore, novel therapeutic approaches to overcome chemoresistance are required. In this study, we developed a hyaluronic acid-labeled poly(d,l-lactide-co-glycolide) nanoparticle (HA-PLGA-NP) encapsulating both paclitaxel (PTX) and focal adhesion kinase (FAK) siRNA as a selective delivery system against chemoresistant ovarian cancer. The mean size and zeta potential of the HA-PLGA-NP were 220 nm and -7.3 mV, respectively. Incorporation efficiencies for PTX and FAK siRNA in the HA-PLGA-NPs were 77% and 85%, respectively. HA-PLGA-NP showed higher binding efficiency for CD44-positive tumor cells as compared with CD44-negative cells. HA-PLGA (PTX+FAK siRNA)-NP caused increased cytotoxicity and apoptosis in drug-resistant tumor cells. Treatment of human epithelial ovarian cancer tumor models HeyA8-MDR (<I>P</I> < 0.001) and SKOV3-TR (<I>P</I> < 0.001) with HA-PLGA (PTX+FAK siRNA)-NP resulted in significant inhibition of tumor growth. Moreover, in a drug-resistant, patient-derived xenograft (PDX) model, HA-PLGA (PTX+FAK siRNA)-NP significantly inhibited tumor growth compared with PTX alone (<I>P</I> < 0.002). Taken together, HA-PLGA-NP acts as an effective and selective delivery system for both the chemotherapeutic and the siRNA in order to overcome chemoresistance in ovarian carcinoma.</P><P><B>Significance:</B> These findings demonstrate the efficacy of a novel, selective, two-in-one delivery system to overcome chemoresistance in epithelial ovarian cancer. <I>Cancer Res; 78(21); 6247–56. ©2018 AACR</I>.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Although many efforts have been made to understand the toxic effects of metals in aquatic invertebrates, there are limited data regarding metal toxicity in natural ecosystems, as most previous studies were conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. To address this data gap, we analyzed toxic effects and molecular responses in the marine rotifer <I>Brachionus koreanus</I> and the marine copepod <I>Tigriopus japonicus</I> following <I>in vivo</I> exposure to a seawater sample collected from a polluted region in South Korea. Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis of the field seawater sample found a variety of metals. Exposure to several dilutions of the field seawater sample impacted several endpoints in both species, including mortality and reproduction. Interestingly, the rotifer and copepod test species exhibited different patterns of effects on reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidant enzymatic activities, suggesting that different regulatory mechanisms may be activated in the two species in response to exposure to toxic chemicals. Our study helps to better understand the defense mechanisms activated in aquatic invertebrates in response to metal-induced oxidative stress induced by contaminated seawater.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> <I>In vivo</I> toxicity of field-collected seawater on the rotifer <I>Brachionus koreanus</I> and copepod <I>Tigriopus japonicus</I> was assessed. </LI> <LI> Metal-induced oxidative stress was assessed by analyzing the transcription and activities of antioxidant enzymes. </LI> <LI> Several antioxidant genes were identified as useful biomarkers to detect early signs of metal pollution. </LI> </UL> </P>
