This reseach was performed to estabilish gene marker and elucidate lactose utilization system of Lactobacillus casei YIT 9018. Lactose negative mutants(lac) were isolated by curing agent such as acriflavin(20 ㎍/ml), acridine orange(80 ㎍/ml), ethidium bromide(10 ㎍/ml) and elevated temperature(42℃). Frequencies of lac mutants of L. casei YIT 9018 on these curing agents were 3.03, 1.41, 3.22 and 0.35%, respectively. The lactose negative mutants isolated had no ability of lactose utilization. L. casei YIT 9018 was found to have one plasmid of approxymately 45 Mdal, which was lost readily by curing agent and its ability to utilize lactose was lost silmultaneously.
Methionine 첨가수준이 비육돈의 성장과 육질에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to determine the effect of DL-methionine(purity; 50%) addition level on the growth and carcass characteristics of finishing pigs. Sixty barrows(LXWXD; 56 ㎏ BW) were randomly allotted to 4 supplemental levels of DL-methionine treatments (0, 0.07%, 0.14%, 0.21%) in a 63 days feeding trial. Each treatment consisted of 3 replicates and 5 pigs per replicate, respectively. After the feeding trial twelve barrows were slaughtered for carcass characteristics. Results obtained were summarized as follows. $quot;There was significant difference (p$lt;.05) among treatments, the best values of weight gain and feed conversion were recorded with the 0.14% treatment. Carcass characteristics was not significantly affected by methionine levels.
