We had analyzed statistically the clinical and histopathologic review of 103 cases of the eye diseases for 5 years at department of ophthamology, Soonchunhyang university hospital. The results were as follow; 1. The cases of biopsy among 57569 out-patients were 103 cases(0.01%). 2. The sexual distribution revealed 59 males(57.3%) and 44 females(42.7%). 3. The evaluation of the site of the involved eyes 53 cases(51.5%) were right eye, the left eye were 48 cases(46%) and binocular were 2 cases(2.5%). 4. The primary sites of disorders were Iid(41.7%), eyeball(32%), conjunctiva(21.4%), orbit(2.1%), cornea and lacrimal system, in order of frequency. 5. According to age, the largest group was in the age 10th and 20th decades, and the smallest group in the 50th decades. 6. As a single diseases, nevus, eyeball rupture, cyst were relatively high in incidence. 7. The proportional rate of the correct diagnosis was 58 cases(56%) among 103 cases. 8. The most common cause of enucleation was eyeball rupture(trauma) 15 cases.

누낭와는 난와내연이 넓어진 부위에 위치하고 있다. 이 부위에서 안와연은 두개내로 갈라지면서 후누낭릉은 상안와연으로 계속되고 전누낭릉은 하안와연으로 계속된다. 이지점은 누낭비강문합술시 중요한데 하안와연이 전누낭릉의 위치를 확인하는데 중요한 이정표가 되기 때문이다. 대부분의 경우 누낭와의 중앙에 상악골과 누골이 만나서 생기는 상악누골선이 있으며, 이선은 누소관의 축과 평행을 이루게 된다. 이 상악누골선은 상악골과 누골이 누낭와를 차지하는 비율에 따라 달아지며, 이러한 차이는 임상적으로 중요한데 그 이유는 누낭비강문합술시 골절술을 시행할때 누골이 얇기 때문에 더쉽게 할 수가 있고, 누소관은 상악골의 비율이 많으면 직경이 더작은 경향이 있기 때문이다. 이에 저자는 동양인 두개골 40개롤 양안의 안와, 누골, 노낭와에 대한 계측을 실행하여 누골, 누낭와의 면적, 전누낭릉과 후누낭릉까지의 거리, 수직 결합선의 위치등에 대한 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 1) 누낭와의 수직거리는 우측이 18.39㎜±1.61, 좌측이 18.50㎜±1.64로 종전의 값보다 1-2㎜ 길었고 수평거리는 우측이 8.71㎜, 좌측이 8.63㎜±1.14로 역시 1-2㎜ 길었다. 2) 면적은 우측이 160.59㎟±28.46㎟, 좌측이 161.39±28.55로 산정되었다. 3) 수직 상악 누골결합선은 누낭와의 중앙에서 약간 후방쪽으로 약1㎜정도 기울어져 있어 상악골의전두돌기가 더많이 누낭와를 형성하고 있었다. 4) 비근점에서 결합선 정점까지의 거리는 우측이 17.81㎜±2.22, 좌측이 17.55㎜±2.06 거리에 있었다. The fossa for lacrimal sac is situated at the widening of the medial orbital rim. At this point, the orbital rim is divided into two lacrimal crests, with the posterior lacrimal crest being continuous with the superior orbital rim and with the anterior one being continuous with the inferior orbital rim. This point get its importance during dacryocystorhinostmy, as the inferior orbital rim serves as a useful landmark in identifying the anterior lacrimal crest. In the cases, maxillary-lacrimal suturem which runs parallel to the axis of the nasolacrimal canal, is located in the center of the fossa. The location of this suture line is variable according to the ratio of maxillary to lacrimal bone. This variation has big clinical importance because the thin lacrimal bone is more easily broken during dacryocystorhinocystostomy and nasolacrimal canal which consists largerly of the maxillary bone is more likely to be smaller in caliber. To clarify these variation, I measured 40 skulls of oriental subjects. The parameters that were measured are dimensions of lacrimal bone and fossa for lacimal sac, the distances from anterior lacrimal crest and posterior lacrimal crest, and location of vertical maxillary-lacrimal suture. The meassurements of right and left lacrimal sac fossa were, respectively as follows; horizontal distances (width) were 8.71㎜±1.17 and 8.63㎜±1.14; vertical distances (height) were 18.39㎜±1.64; the dimensions were 160.59㎟±28.46 and 161.39㎟±28.55; the maxillary-lacrimal suture was located about 1㎜(0.73-1.18㎜) posteriorly from the center of the fossa, indicating a larger contribution from the maxillary bone; the distances from nasion to top of vertical maxillary-lacrimal suture were 17.81㎜±2.22 in right, 17.55㎜±2.06 in left.
