잉크젯 프린팅 피코 리터 액적 증발현상에 관한 실험적 연구

In graphical inkjet printing, a droplet is absorbed into a porous substrate soon after contact. However, in non-graphical inkjet printing, such as metal nanoparticle solution jetting on PCB, color filter printing for LCD, substrates do not absorb the solvent, so that the evaporation of the droplet plays an important role in the material deposition. In addition, for above applications including flexible electronics, both high resolution and high jetting frequency are required, which also depend on the evaporation of the droplet. While the evaporation of nano or micro liter droplet (greater than 500㎛ diameter) has been studied in the past, especially in the application of fire suppression, that of pico liter droplet (smaller than 100㎛ diameter) has not been studied extensively. In this work, the evaporation of 3-40 pico liter droplet (20-40㎛ diameter) of several pure fluids jetted by drop on demand piezo driven jetting head on the heated substrate was studied experimentally.

Conventional integrated circuit fabrication processes are multi-step, involve high sintering temperature, toxic waste, and are therefore expensive. Therefore, employment of cost-effective drop on demand inkjet printing process is expected to give new opportunities in flexible electronics and other applications. However, the typical resolution of inkjet printing (=50~100㎛), which is mainly governed by the nozzle diameter, is an issue. In this work, sintering characteristics and ablation of Ag nanoparticles using frequency doubled Nd:YAG nanosecond laser were studied to apply for trimming electrical micro-conductor printed by inkjet. Ag nano particles dissolved in ethylene glycol was used and polyvinylpyrrolidone was added to prevent agglomeration. Here, nanoparticles are used to exploit the melting temperature depression compared to bulk material, so that printed metal nanoparticle film could be sintered at a reduced temperature compatible to polymer.

The main purpose of this study is to develop a new thermal model based on the analysis of heat energy characteristics in vehicle cabin. Since the cabin thermal energy characteristics is easily changed according to changes in external and internal energy, the existing thermal model has implemented a model configuration based on 3D CFD to reflect these characteristics. However, due to the limitations of many time/material resources, there have been many difficulties in application to the vehicle development stage, and there has been a problem in that it is difficult to respond to virtual vehicle development in the future. In order to overcome the limitations of these existing methods, a 1D based system model that can be used easily and can optimize the thermal management, and A/C system reflecting detailed thermal energy response characteristic was developed. Therefore, the results of this study can be used to predict the dynamic cabin heat load due to the change of shape vehicle cabin during EV development and to develop an optimal A/C(HVAC) system heat coverage through HILS equipment in the future.
