Vol.15 No.3

Recently, with the increasing popularity of smartphones, mobile applications have been being used in various sectors. In these environments, some mobile applications are being made for special purposes. The mobile campus application is one exemplary type of such special-purpose mobile applications, which have unique characteristics that allow only designated users, belonging to a specific group, to access and use relevant knowledge. The aim of this study is to identify and investigate critical success factors of mobile campus applications based on the DeLone & McLean‘s information systems (IS) success model and to find unique characteristics of mobile campus applications, compared to general-purpose mobile applications. In order to empirically test our research model, 199 samples were collected from students who actually had experience of using the mobile campus application of A university at least once. The findings of the structural equation modeling using SmartPLS 2.0 confirmed the DeLone & McLean’s IS success model, with the exception for relationships between service quality and user satisfaction/intention to use. Moreover, the moderating role of sense of belonging to school on the relationships between quality-related factors (i.e., information, system, and service qualities) and success-related factors (i.e., user satisfaction and intention to use) was examined.

Mobile commerce provides a convenient shopping experience in which users can buy products without the constraints of time and space. Mobile commerce has already set off a mega trend in Korea. The market size is estimated at approximately 15 trillion won (KRW) for 2015, thus far. In the Korean market, social commerce and open market are key components. Social commerce has an overwhelming open market in terms of the number of users in the Korean mobile commerce market. From the point of view of the industry, quick market entry, and content curation are considered to be the major success factors, reflecting the rapid growth of social commerce in the market. However, academics empirical research and analysis to prove the success rate of social commerce is still insufficient. Henceforward, it is to be expected that social commerce and the open market in the Korean mobile commerce will compete intensively. So it is important to conduct an empirical analysis to prove the differences in user experience between social commerce and open market. This paper is an exploratory study that shows a comparative analysis of social commerce and the open market regarding user experience, which is based on the mobile users reviews. Firstly, this study includes a collection of approximately 10,000 user reviews of social commerce and open market listed Google play. A collection of mobile user reviews were classified into topics, such as perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use through LDA topic modeling. Then, a sentimental analysis and co-occurrence analysis on the topics of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use was conducted. The studys results demonstrated that social commerce users have a more positive experience in terms of service usefulness and convenience versus open market in the mobile commerce market. Social commerce has provided positive user experiences to mobile users in terms of service areas, like ‘delivery,’ ‘coupon,’ and ‘discount,’ while open market has been faced with user complaints in terms of technical problems and inconveniences like ‘login error,’ ‘view details,’ and ‘stoppage.’ This result has shown that social commerce has a good performance in terms of user service experience, since the aggressive marketing campaign conducted and there have been investments in building logistics infrastructure. However, the open market still has mobile optimization problems, since the open market in mobile commerce still has not resolved user complaints and inconveniences from technical problems. This study presents an exploratory research method used to analyze user experience by utilizing an empirical approach to user reviews. In contrast to previous studies, which conducted surveys to analyze user experience, this study was conducted by using empirical analysis that incorporates user reviews for reflecting users vivid and actual experiences. Specifically, by using an LDA topic model and TAM this study presents its methodology, which shows an analysis of user reviews that are effective due to the method of dividing user reviews into service areas and technical areas from a new perspective. The methodology of this study has not only proven the differences in user experience between social commerce and open market, but also has provided a deep understanding of user experience in Korean mobile commerce. In addition, the results of this study have important implications on social commerce and open market by proving that user insights can be utilized in establishing competitive and groundbreaking strategies in the market. The limitations and research direction for follow-up studies are as follows. In a follow-up study, it will be required to design a more elaborate technique of the text analysis. This study could not clearly refine the user reviews, even though the ones online have inherent typos and mistakes. This study has proven that the user reviews are an invaluable source to analyze user experience. The

How to Reinvent Network Services for All

Vol.25 No.3

Besieged by needs for upgrading the current Internet, social pressures, and regulatory concerns, a network operator may be left with few options to improve his services. Yet he can still consider a transition prioritizing network services. In this paper, we describe a transition from a non-priority system to a prioritized one, using non-preemptive M/G/1 model. After reviewing the constraints and theoretical results from past research, we describe steps making the transition Pareto-improving, which boils down to a multi-goal search for a Pareto-improving state. We use a genetic algorithm that captures actual transition costs along with incentive-compatible and Pareto-improving constraints. Simulation results demonstrate that the initial post-transition solutions are typically Pareto-improving. For non Pareto-improving solutions, the heuristic quickly generates Pareto-improving and incentive-compatible solutions.

Mobile payment system using NFC attracted attention as the mobile payment market grows due to the fast diffusion of smart phones. However, non NFC mobile payment recently appeared because of the slow growth of infrastructure for NFC. With advent of Non NFC mobile payment applications, mobile payment industry is in developing trend. Non NFC mobile payment revitalizes the market by overcoming the limit of NFC with the smart applications using bar code and QR code payment, and providing various discounts, membership benefits and payment information. Therefore, this paper analyzed the intention of continuous use with the quality of mobile payment application based on the information system success model. Three categories of factors which are system quality, service quality, and information quality were used. We verified the significance of the factors affecting the intension of continuous use. mainly, quality of information was considered as an important factor of continuous Intention to Use. Also, unlike previous NFC, it was found that in Non - NFC, compatibility might not be as important factor. Moreover, we suggest a marketing strategy of companies for mobile payment industry which focus on information quality. and future research directions for non NFC payment market.

        김동욱(Dong Wook Kim),강주영(Ju Young Kang),임재익(Jay Ick Lim) 한국IT서비스학회 2016 한국IT서비스학회지 Vol.15 No.3

As unemployment rates and concerns about turnover keep growing, the need for information is also increasing. In these situations, the job reviews which share information about the company catch people s attention because they are usually created by people who worked at the company. The development of SNS and mobile environments has led to an increase in the web services that provide job reviews. For example, Jobplanet is a job review service in Korea, and Glassdoor.com offers a similar service in the US. Despite this attention, however, research utilizing job reviews is insufficient. This paper asks whether there are differences in ratios of job satisfaction factors by industry, using LDA topic modeling and co-occurrence analysis to explore the differences. Through the results of LDA, we find that the ratios of job satisfaction factors are similar by industry. At the same time, the results of co-occurrence analysis show that the co-occurrence frequency of some job satisfaction factors appears high: pay and welfare, balance of work and life, company culture. We expect that the result of this research will be helpful in comparative analysis of job satisfaction factors by industry. Furthermore, in this paper we suggest how to use the job review data in organizational behavior research.

Vol.6 No.2

This is to report the design and implementation of an electronic commerce platform for the Korea Telecom procurement process employing Web based EDI. The procurement process is analyzed adopting the business analysis technique and the data modeling. Core sub-processes are identified including announcement, bidding, and contract. An Web-based EDI scheme is designed using the business and information modeling technique and the process decomposition technique. A prototype platform is implemented employing Access, Visual Basic, and FrontPage.

1998 Journal of information technology applications & m Vol.4 No.2
