전자도서관 웹사이트의 품질향상을 위한 사용성 평가에 관한 연구

This study aims to evaluate the usability for improving quality of Hoseo university digital library website. Compatibility of web browser and loading speed are analyzed in using Doctor HTML and Web Site Garage, and seven major attributes of website, that is navigation, functionality, user control, language and contents, system and user feedback, consistency, architectural and visual clarity, are analyzed and evaluated in using online questionnaire method. Finally this paper was suggested some problems and improvements of that website mentioned above, and general guidelines of website construction based on usability in university digital library in korea. 본 연구에서는 호서대학교 전자도서관 웹사이트를 대상으로 하여 웹사이트 사용성 평가도구를 이용한 분석(Doctor HTML 및 Web Site Garage)을 적용하여 웹브라우즈의 호환성 및 접속속도를 분석하였고, 온라인 설문조사를 실시하여 네비게이션, 기능성, 이용자의 통제, 언어 및 컨텐츠, 시스템 및 이용자 피드백, 일관성, 구조적 및 시각적 명료성 등의 주요 속성에 관한 분석 및 평가를 통하여 문제점 및 개선방안을 도출하였다. 그리고 분석 및 평가결과를 반영하여 사용성에 기반한 우리나라 대학의 전자도서관 웹사이트 구축에 적용할 수 있는 일반적 지침을 제시하였다.

This study aims to evaluate the usability of XML-based Chungnam National University Digital Library Website. Usability testing are used three method, that is Log File Analysis, Online Questionnaire and Heuristic Evaluation. Log files are analyzed in using WiseLog Enterprise and Hit Analyzer for Enterprise jx 1.5 Beta Version and total 21 items are analyzed and evaluated in using online questionnaire method and heuristic evaluation is inquired by experts of web and information retrieval fields. Finally this paper was suggested some problems and improvements to advance quality of user services in university digital library website in korea. 본 연구에서는 최신의 정보기술을 적용한 XML 기반 충남대학교 전자도서관 웹사이트를 대상으로 사용성 평가를 실시하였다. 사용성 평가는 로그파일 분석, 온라인 설문조사 그리고 발견평가의 3가지 방법을 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 사용자 입장에서의 대학도서관 웹사이트 서비스의 문제점을 분석ㆍ평가하여 개선방안을 제시함으로써 이용자 서비스의 품질 향상을 제고할 수 있는 근거를 마련하고자 한다.

전문데이터베이스의 탐색특성에 관한 연구 -주제전문가와 탐색전문가-

본 연구는 전문데이터베이스의 탐색에 있어서 주제전문가와 탐색전문가는 어떠한 특징적인 차이가 있는지를 밝히려 하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 얻어진 결론을 요약하면, 주제전문가와 탐색전문가는 전문데이터베이스의 탐색에 있어서 탐색질문의 분석(탐색질문의 이해도, 탐색어 선정의 난이도, 탐색결과에 대한 기대수준), 탐색과정(탐색어수, 연산자 수, 브라우징 문헌 수, 접속시간, 출력문헌 건당 소요시간, 적합문헌 건당 소요시간), 탐색결과(적합문헌수, 재현율, 정확율, 총 탐색비용, 출력문헌 건당 소요비용, 적합문헌 건당 소요비용, 탐색결과에 대한 만족도)에 대하여 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내는 것으로 밝혀졌다 The primary purpose of this study is to verify the difference of behavioural characteristics between the subject specialists and professional searchers in searching full-text databases. The major findings and conclusions from this study are summarized as follows. Analyses of Search questions(the degree of understanding with search questions, the degree of difficulty in selecting search terms, and the degree of expectation of search results), search processes(the number of search terms used, the number of Boolean operators and qualifiers used, the number of documents browsed and the search time(the connecting time, time to spend per one output document, time to spend per one relevant output document)) and search results(the searching efficiency(the number of relevant documents, the recall ratio and the precision ratio), the search cost(the total search cost, the search cost per one output document and the search cost per one relevant output document) and the degree of satisfaction with search results) are significantly different between the subject specialists and professional searchers in searching full-text databases

공공도서관 정보서비스의 품질향상을 위한 웹사이트 사용성 평가에 관한 연구 - 대전지역을 중심으로 -

This study aims to evaluate the usability for improving quality of information services in eight public libraries website, Daejeon City Area. Usability testing are used two method, that is WebXACT analysis and Heuristic Evaluation. These analysis are included the generalitems(file size, total downloaded size, file type, metadata tag, style sheet, image), quality of website(content defects, search and navigation, page efficiency, browser compatibility) and accessability. Finally this paper was suggested some general testing guidelines for improving usability of public libraries website in accessability and navigation 본 연구에서는 대전지역 8개 공공도서관의 웹사이트에 대한 사용성 평가를 자동평가 도구인 「WebXACT」와 발견평가를 통해 살펴보았다. 전반적으로 웹사이트 구축 초기단계에 사용성 평가를 통해 웹사이트를 구축해야 함에도 불구하고, 공공기관의 특성을 감안한 사용자 계층의 다양함을 고려하지 않고 일반적인 웹사이트 구축 기준에 맞추어 웹사이트가 구축되어 접근성과 네비게이션에 있어서 많은 문제점이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 본 고에서는 공공도서관 웹사이트의 사용성 향상을 위한 접근성과 네비게이션의 일반적인 측정 지침을 제시하였다.

디지털도서관 웹사이트 사용성 평가기준 개발에 관한 연구

This study is to develope the usability evaluation criteria for improving quality of user services in digital library website. It compared and analyzed major eight studies concerning usability evaluation of library website in foreign and domestic. This paper was suggested 36 items of evaluation criteria that are belongs to six domain(quality of links, feedback mechanism, accessibility, design, navigation and searching). Usability evaluation criteria for digital library websites suggested in this paper is a item-based level, and to observe generally. [ 더 많은 내용 보기 ] 본 연구에서는 기존에 국내·국외에서 수행된 주요 웹사이트의 사용성 평가와 관련된 연구에 적용된 기준을 비교·분석하여, 우리나라 디지털도서관의 웹사이트 평가에 적용 가능한 일반적인 웹사이트 사용성 평가기준을 도출함으로써 향후 이용자 서비스의 품질향상을 통한 효율적인 웹서비스를 제공할 수 있기 위한 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 디지털도서관 웹사이트를 대상으로 한 사용성 평가기준은 서로 다른 수많은 특성과 목적을 가지고 운영되는 웹사이트에 일률적으로 적용되어질 수는 없다. 적용대상에 따라 평가 기준이 달라지거나 최소한 각 평각기준의 비중이 달라져야 할 것이다. 디지털도서관 웹사이트의 경우 대학도서관, 공공도서관, 전문도서관, 학교도서관 등 해당 분야별로 특성에 따른 웹사이트가 구축되어진다. 본 연구에서 제시한 디지털도서관 웹사이트 사용성 평가기준(안)은 일반적으로 준수해야 할 항목에서의 기준이라 할 수 있다

우리나라 과학기술분야 전문정보센터의 발전방안에 관한 연구

This study is to propose the strategic plans and the methods of status establishment for developing the specialized information centers in science & technology towards the knowledge information society in 21st century. The major objectives of this study are to analyze present management status and problems, to suggest the standards of designation and effective management methods, and to reestablish the status of specialized information centers in science & technology 본 연구에서는 우리나라 과학기술분야 전문정보센터의 활성화 및 발전을 위하여 KISTI에서 지정하여 지원하고 있는 전문정보센터에 대한 운영전반에 걸친 문제점, 현황, 역할 등을 다양한 각도에서 검토ㆍ분석하여 개선 및 발전방안을 마련하였다. 그리고 21세기 지식정보사회에 적합한 우리나라 과학기술분야 전문정보센터에 대한 국가적 차원의 통합적인 지정기준을 마련하고 효율적인 운영방안을 제시하였다.

과학기술분야 데이터베이스의 품질향상을 위한 품질평가 연구

This study aims to evaluate the quality of databases in scientific and technical fields. The maul discussion is about the quality issues of KORDIC's seven database the most typical web database of scientific and technical fields in Korea. Eighteen evaluation criteria, considered two aspects of data itself and service of database, are used to measure their quality. The purpose of this study Is to diagnose the qualify of databases mentioned above and to analyses the measured result of quality objectively and to find out the problems of them and also to provide possible suggestions for their improvements. 본 연구는 객관적으로 검증 가능한 데이터베이스 품질평가 기준 및 방법을 개발하고 과학기술분야 데이터베이스를 대상으로 한 실증적인 실험연구를 목적으로 하고 있다. 평가기준은 데이터베이스 수록데이터 및 데이터베이스 제공서비스의 두가지 측면을 고려하여 전체 18개의 평가항목을 설정하였으며, 데이터베이스의 품질평가는 연구개발정보센터(현, 한국과학기술정보연구원)에서 구축하여 인터넷의 웹 상에서 이용자 서비스를 제공하고 있는 우리나라 과학기술분야의 대표적인 7개의 데이터 베이스를 대상으로 하였고 평가결과를 종합ㆍ분석하여 문제점을 도출하고 향후의 개선방안을 모색하였다.

지식기반 전자도서관 모형구축에 관한 연구 - 대학도서관을 중심으로 -

본 연구에서는 앞으로의 지식기반 정보사회에 있어서 우리 나라 대학도서관에 적용할 수 있는 전자도서관의 모형을 제안한다. 현재 진행되고 있는 전자도서관 관련 주요 프로젝트를 사례로 하여 전자도서관의 연구개발 동향을 살펴보고, 지식기반 전자도서관의 구축에 필요한 석 박사 학위논문 제출 및 DB 구축 인프라 개발, 자체 소장자료의 관리 및 서비스, 정기간행물 서비스 인프라 구축, 통합 뷰어의 개발, 데이터베이스의 전환, 분산통합검색시스템, 사이버 캠퍼스, 그리고 데이터베이스의 연계 등 여덟 가지의 필수적인 기능들을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to suggest knowledge-based digital library model that is applicable in korea university library. This paper provides brief accounts of research and development trends of digital library in referring some major digital library projects that are in progress, or just completed. There follows a suggestion of eight essential modules for knowledge-based digital library system, that are infrastructure development of dissertation presentation and database construction, management and service of collections, infrastructure construction of journal service, development of unified viewer, database conversion, distributed & integrated retrieval system, cyber campus(private work space), and database connection.
