This study was performed to measure and evaluate the characteristics of COD and TOC removal, and decolorization efficiency in the electrolytic treatment by using iron anode and aluminum cathode for the acid dye Red 114 generally known the most difficult to degrade in the dyestuff. The electrolysis can be feasible to Dye-wastewater cause of high decolorizing efficiency. high COD removal efficiency, and short reaction time.

A Case of main pulmonary artery aneurysm in a 9-year-old boy with patent ductus arteriosus is presented. In this case presented with a huge mass density on the chest X-ray, radionuclide cardiac angiography showed a vascular lesion, which was confirmed as an aneurysm of the main pulmonary artery at roentgenologic angiogram. The aneurysm appeared following an episode of bacterial endocarditis and pulmonary hypertension. A successfu1 aneurysmectomy with multiple ligation of ductus arteriosus was performed.

The effect of the various operating conditions on the removal of Chrominum and Cyanide from wastewater by using electrolysis with iron anode and aluminum cathode was investigated. The removal efficiency of Cr^6+ and CN were increased as the pH was decreased, as the distance of electrode was decreased the voltage was increased. The optimum conditions for the treatment of Cr^6+ and CN containing wastewater were initial pH 3, 5volt, and the distance of electrode was 1cm, At these conditions, 99.44% of Cr^6+ and 75% of CM were removed.

There are many methods to syntesize polystyrene latex. Emulsion polymerization is often used commercially, but initiator has the disadvantage for environmental pollution. The free radical is produced by ultrasound energy effect, polystyrene latex was synthesized using ultrasound energy instead of chemical initiator. As the ultrasonic irradiation time increased, average molecular weight increased and polydispersity decreased. And as the concentration of SDS increased, degree of polymerization increased and maximum value of degree of polymerization was shown when the concentration of SDS was 2 wt%, and reaction temperature was 40℃. During the polymerization, increase and decrease of molecular weight was repeated and molecular weight controlled monodisperse type polystyrene latex was synthesized by controlling of ultrasonic irradiation time and the concentration of SDS.

In this study, the ultrasound which has the properties of mixing, surface cleaning effect, increasing of the effective reaction surface area and increasing of the effective collision frequency, was used to enhance the recovering efficiency of Cu from the Cu-ion containing waste water. The ultrasonic reactor used in this study was designed and constructed for improving the disadvantage of the existing ultrasonic reactor. From the experimental result and its analysis. we obtained following conclusions. 1. The ultrasound increased the rate of electrochemical deposition to 532.2% in maximum at the condition of 0.1M-CuSO₄ and 2.1V-overpotential 2. This study gave the possibility of the scale-up of ultrasonic reactor and in particular, ultrasonic reactor would be effective in treatment of waste water contains a low concentration of Cu ion.
