        확률모델 불확실성을 고려한 구조물의 신뢰도 기반 최적설계 - 제2편: 강인 성능 평가

        This paper, being the second in a two-part series, presents the robust performance of the proposed design method which can enhance a reliability-based design optimization(RBDO) under the uncertainties of probabilistic models. The robust performances of the solutions obtained by the proposed method, described in the Part 1, are investigated through the parametric studies. A 10-bar truss example is considered, and the uncertain parameters include the number of data observed, and the variations of applied loadings and allowable stresses. The numerical results show that the proposed method can produce a consistent result despite of the large variations in the parameters. Especially,even with the relatively small data set, the analysis results show that the exact probabilistic model can be successfully predicted with optimized design sections. This consistency of estimating appropriate probability model is also observed in the case of the variations of other parameters, which verifies the robustness of the proposed method

        퍼지관리제어기법의 강인성능평가

        Using the variable control gain scheme on the basis of fuzzy-based decision-making process, Fuzzy supervisory control (FSC) technique exhibits better control performance than linear control technique with one static control gain. This paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the FSC technique by evaluating the robust performance of the FSC technique under the presence of uncertainties in the models and the excitations. Robust performance of the FSC system is compared with that of optimally designed LQG control system for the benchmark cable-stayed bridge presented by Dyke et al. Parameter studies on the robust performance evaluation are carried out by varying the stiffness of the bridge model as well as the magnitudes of several earthquakes with different frequency contents. From the comparative study of two control systems, FSC system shows the enhanced control performance against various magnitudes of several earthquakes while maintaining lower level of power required for controlling the bridge response. Especially, FSC system clearly guarantees the improved robust performance of the control system with stable reduction effects on the seismic responses and slight increases in total power and stroke for the control system, while LQG control system exhibits poor robust performance. 지진응답제어를 위한 효율적 방법으로 제시된 퍼지관리제어기법은 퍼지에 기반한 의사결정과정을 통하여 가변 제어이득행렬을 구현함으로써 하나의 제어이득만으로 표현되는 선형제어기법보다 개선된 제어성능을 발휘할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 퍼지관리제어기법의 효율성을 하중 및 교량모델의 불확실성에 대한 제어성능의 강인성 측면에서 평가하였다. 강인성 평가에 있어서는 Dyke등이 제시한 벤치마크 교량에 대하여, 최적설계된 LQG기법과 제어성능을 비교하는 방법을 사용하였다. 불확실성을 주는 요인으로는 주파수 특성이 다른 여러 지진가속도의 규모 및 교량의 강성변화를 가정하였다. 최적설계된 LQG 제어기와 제어효과를 비교한 결과, FSC시스템이 지진의 종류와 규모에 따라 보다 작은 전력을 사용하면서도 개선된 제어성능을 발휘하였다. 특히, LQG 제어시스템이 강성변화에 대하여 불안정한 제어성능을 보인 반면, FSC 시스템은 매우 안정적인 응답제어효과를 보이면서도 제어시스템에 소요되는 전력량과 제어장치의 스트로크에 있어서도 큰 변화를 보이지 않음으로써 매우 탁월한 강인성을 보장할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

        목표신뢰성을 만족하는 구조물-감쇠기 복합시스템의 다목적 통합최적설계

        이 논문에서는 구조물의 내진성능 향상을 위한 방법으로서 구조부재 및 수동형 감쇠기의 통합최적설계기법을 제시한다. 이는 구조부재 및 감쇠기의 최적배치를 다루는 최적화기법이다. 통합시스템의 최적설계를 위하여 다목적최적화기법을 도입하고, 이를 보다 효율적으로 다루기 위하여 목표신뢰성 제한조건을 갖는 다목적최적화문제로 재구성하였다. 수치해석 예제를 통하여 다양한Pareto 최적해를 제시하였으며, 이들이 기존 설계방법에 상응하는 순차적 설계방법 및 가중합방법에 따른 단일목적함수 최적화방법을 포괄함을 검증하였다. 여러 Pareto 최적해로부터 강성 및 감쇠장치의 사용량을 달리하는 3가지 대표설계안을 선택하고 이들의 내진성능을 다양한 지진하중에 대하여 비교 분석하였다. 이로부터 제시하는 방법이 구조물의 내진성능 향상을 위한 설계방법으로서 효율적으로 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. This paper presents an integrated optimal design technique of a hybrid structure-damper system for improving the seismic performance of the structure. The proposed technique corresponds to the optimal distribution of the stiffness and dampers. The multi-objective optimization technique is introduced to deal with the optimal design problem of the hybrid system, which is reformulated into the multi-objective optimization problem with a constraint of target reliability in an efficient manner. An illustrative example shows that the proposed technique can provide a set of Pareto optimal solutions embracing the solutions obtained by the conventional sequential design method and single-objective optimization method based on weighted summation scheme. Based on the stiffness and damping capacities, three representative designs are selected among the Pareto optimal solutions and their seismic performances are investigated through the parametric studies on the dynamic characteristics of the seismic events. The comparative results demonstrate that the proposed approach can be efficiently applied to the optimal design problem for improving the seismic performance of the structure.

        마찰 슬라이딩 거동을 보이는 건물 내 중량 설비의 내진성능 향상을 위한 감쇠기 연결 방안

        This study proposes a new damper configuration for seismic performance improvement of heavy sliding facilities inside a building. For this purpose, we deal with two connection types of control system, and the parametric study has been performed to investigate their comparative seismic performances according to the variations of the control capacity. In order to simulate the seismic responses of the proposed system, we employed a recently-developed seismic response analysis method that can deal with the two-mass system with nonlinear frictional sliding behavior. The numerical results demonstrate that the typical method of diagonal bracing damper connection can exhibit effective control performance both on structure and the heavy sliding facilities, whereas the structure-facilities connection method does not show any control effect on both responses. On the other hand, the typical method has some limitations that it can adversely cause excessive sliding of the facilities, depending upon the frequency characteristics of structure and earthquake. On the contrary, the structure-facilities connection method is very effective in reducing the sliding displacement of the heavy facilities, even with small amount of control capacity. Thus, the following potential expectations can be inferred from these results: The typical diagonal bracing damper connection method will have some promising benefits in controlling the sliding facilities inside the building as well as the building itself, and the structure-facilities connection method can be a cost-effective way of protecting the internal heavy important facilities inside the structure already designed with sufficient seismic performance.

        선형 점성 감쇠기가 장착된 인접구조물의 진동제어를 위한 유전자 알고리즘 기반 최적설계

        이 연구에서는 인접한 두 빌딩의 진동제어를 위한 방법으로 선형 점성 감쇠기의 위치별 용량의 최적설계방법을 제시하고자 한다. 기존 연구들에서는 감쇠기의 균등분포 또는 층별 감쇠비의 민감도에 비례하는 분포의 가정 하에서의 준최적(suboptimal) 설계문제를 다룬 반면, 이 연구에서는 감쇠기의 위치별 용량을 독립적인 설계인자로 고려함으로써 전역 최적해를 결정하는 최적화기법을 다루었다. 이를 위하여 넓은 영역에서 다수의 설계변수를 효율적으로 검색할 수 있는 유전자 알고리즘(genetic algorithm)을 도입하였으며, 제어 성능 및 감쇠용량에 대한 목적함수의 정의를 달리함으로써 얻어지는 여러 최적설계 결과를 상호 비교하여 보다 최적의 해를 구할 수 있는 목적함수를 정립하였다. 기존 연구결과와의 제어성능 및 감쇠용량의 비교를 통하여 제시하는 방법의 효율성을 검증하였다. 아울러 서로 상이한 주파수 성분을 띄는 실제 역사지진에 대한 시간이력해석을 통하여 제시하는 방법이 인접 구조물의 효과적인 제진설계방법이 될 수 있음을 입증하였다. This paper proposes an optimal design method of distribution and capacities of linear viscous dampers for vibration control of two adjacent buildings. The previous researches have dealt with suboptimal design problem under the assumption that linear viscous dampers are distributed uniformly or proportionally to the sensitivity of the modal damping ratio according to floors, whereas this study deals with global optimization problem in which the damping capacities of each floor are independently selected as design parameters. For this purpose, genetic algorithm to effectively search multiple design variables in large searching domains is adopted and objective function leading to the global optimal solutions is established through the comparison of several optimal design values obtained from different objective functions with control performance and damping capacity. The effectiveness of the proposed method is investigated by comparing the control performance and total damping capacity designed by the proposed method with those of the previous method. In addition, the time history analyses are performed by using three historical earthquakes with different frequency contents, and the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method is an effective seismic design method for the vibration control of the adjacent structures.

        사장교의 지진응답제어를 위한 준능동 MR 감쇠기의 퍼지제어

        사장교의 효과적 지진응답제어를 위하여 MR 감쇠기를 이용한 준능동 퍼지 제어기법을 제시하였다. 제시하는 방법은 MR 감쇠기의 응답정보만을 이용한 퍼지추론 과정을 통하여 준능동 제어를 수행하는 방법으로서, 능동제어이론에 기반한 기존 준능동 제어기법과 달리, 별도의 능동제어기를 설계할 필요가 없는 간단한 구조로서 구성될 수 있다. 제시한 제어기법의 제어성능을 평가하기 위해 사장교 벤치마크 문제에 적용하였으며 기존 준능동 제어기법들과의 성능비교를 통하여 그 효율성을 평가하였다. 제어성능을 비교한 결과, 제시하는 준능동 퍼지 제어기법은 주탑의 전단력 및 휨모멘트, 데크의 수평변위, 그리고 케이블 장력 등의 상충하는 지진응답들을 동시에 효과적으로 제어함으로써 지진응답제어에 매우 효율적인 제어전략이 될 수 있음을 보였다. This paper proposes semi-active fuzzy control technique of magneto-rheological dampers for seismic response control of cable-stayed bridges. Through the fuzzy inference process, the proposed technique performs the semi-active control with the responses of MR dampers only. Moreover, differently from the conventional semi-active control technique, this technique does not require additional active controller for the primary controller, which provides a simple design process. in order to validate the control performance of the proposed technique, the semi-active fuzzy control technique is applied to the benchmark control problem of cable-stayed bridge and its control performance is compared with those of conventional semi-active control techniques. The comparative results show that the proposed fuzzy control technique can be an effective control strategy by efficiently and simultaneously reducing the mutual conflicting responses such as the shear forces and moments at the base of the lowers, longitudinal displacement of the deck, and tensions in the stay cables.

        Optimal Performance Design of Bi-Tuned Mass Damper Systems Using

        This paper proposes a multi-objective optimization based design methodology of bi-Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) systems to guarantee robust seismic performance of building structures against off-tunings between norminal and actual conditions of the structure. The proposed approach first introduces two performance measures for bi-TMD systems, i.e., 뱊ominal?and 뱑obust?performance indices, which are defined in terms of the maximum frequency responses of the damped structure in its original design condition and those in perturbed conditions, respectively. These performance measures are incorporated into a vector form of objective functions for a multi-objective optimization of bi-TMD designs. This approach systematically finds a set of Pareto optimal solutions which are mutually conflicting in terms of the two objective functions. A reasonable design is then selected from the Pareto-optimal surface. Illustrative examples are presented for optimlal design problems of TMD and bi-TMD. The nominal and robust performances of the optimal designs are examined through a parametric study on uncertain characteristics of ground motions. The comparative results demonstrate that the proposed optimal design approach guarantees effective and robust performance of bi-TMD systems in controlling the responses of the building structures under seismic excitations.

        지게차 충돌 위치 및 보관물류 분포에 따른 선반구조물의 거동특성분석

        The statistics of recent accidents in warehouses show that a heavy toll of lives were produced by various accidents, e.g. collision,overturn, fall, slip, exposure to harmful substances or environments, etc. Of significant concern amongst them is the collision, especially the collision between forklift and storage rack structure. Accordingly, this study focuses on behavioral characteristics of rack structure subjected to dynamic impact loading of a forklift. For this purpose, time-domain response analysis has been performed on a standard 2-bay six-story rack structure consisting of columns, beams and bracing members with perforated open section. In order to investigate the most critical scenario, the impact loads are applied in both down-aisle and cross-aisle directions, and the impact locations are also varied along the shelves of the palettes. In order to deal with storage distributions, three types of rack structures are further taken into account: original empty rack structure with no storage, half-loaded rack structure and fully-loaded rack structure. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the dynamic characteristics of the rack structure are significantly dependent on the distribution of the storage goods and its natural period varies from 0.24sec to 1.06sec, approximately 4.4 times. Further, the parametric studies show that the forklift impact is most critical to the safety of the rack structure when it collides either at the base or at the top of the rack structure.
